  1. Hard to believe, but that is actually the color that the kit was molded in. Amazing what a little polish & a lot of elbow grease can accomplish, ain't it?
  2. SWEET! Now, I need one of those bodies to make a copy of the first win car for Kyle Petty.
  3. I can see a Toylet (Chevrolet powered Toyota) in the works already.
  4. Isn't the "Bad Medicine" kit the one that has the all chrome Corvair engine? I hope so, I have a glue bomb that isn't finished (luckily the engine wasn't started) but the kit has been moved (Daughter rearranging my room) & "is in a box the garage" dreaded words in my household, since the garage is a 20x50 building that has over half of it filled with boxes to the 20 foot ceiling.lol
  5. Actually AMT is probably behind, as those tires are from a much later era, so they are totally wrong for the cars you're building, unless you want to represent them as modern day "vintage racers" in that case you would have to add a few things such as a rear tail light in the back window opening, as these cars are used on road race circuits, & are required to meet SCCA rules.
  6. what is the part that is off/missing from the tree, next to the center console?
  7. Boy, you can be sure that this yard isn't in our lovely state of California, even if it wasn't a yard, & was on private property, the EPA would be all over it, & the CHP would show up & want to see paperwork for each & every car there. They spot these private stash deals from the air, & send in an officer to investigate, gotta love it, aint beaurocracy sweet?
  8. I think that if they can bring back the Gremlin, (&they have) why can't they bring back the early Pinto's? (haven't heard a thing about even a possibility).
  9. Now, THAT is funny, I say car, real, pig, model
  10. Try Grandt line for the shackle bolts, you can get them in the model train section or from a store that specializes in train stuff.
  11. NICE! I know this is a test shot, but I hope by the time it makes production for the NASCAR version, that they get rid of the ottermatic trans. P.S. not to nit pik, but those old aircraft belts would have been a light shade of O.D.Green, the commercial black ones weren't available yet.
  12. After consulting my expert from the U.S. Mint, I say ..........Model
  13. OOOOOOOOOooooo, gimmeee, gimmeee, I gotta have it, NOW!!!!! please?
  14. When it's ready for paint, you need to find some pics of Jac Haudenschild's 22 car from 99, the one with the Kryptonite (until DC comics made him change it to Atomic) paint scheme. His nickname of "Wild Child" fits this build perfectly.
  15. If you use a color that is as close as possible to the "tint" then back it with a semi-gloss black to replicate the black gel coat it will turn out well. But remember to use a solid color.
  16. I have one of the "stock"versions of the R&D kit, & if you're of the persuasion I also have their stage III chassis kit I was going to use under it. If you want it get in touch with me & "make me an offer I can't refuse"
  17. Thanks for the pics, but could you focus in a little closer on the intake tube & air filter for the cold air intake? I couldn't quite make out the part numbers on the tree....LOL
  18. Gregg, can you enlighten us a little about the Fleetline in the tin? I don't remember hearing anything about it. Thanks, Del
  19. REAL! or else someone is really into detail,,,, like adding drivers to their models.
  20. actually it would depend on the year that the car was running, these were still popular in the mid '60s, & they definitely had harness's then, the early one use what was called a "Sam Brown" belt that went around the upper torso about mid chest.
  21. Monogram has a nice flathead with some period speed equipment that is in the proper scale in their '40 Ford Pick-up, & it is now on the market again.
  22. Well, here we are in December, & still no car, maybe Revell is working with a Mayan calendar?
  23. I got a real good deal on the Maisto Solstices, & Saturn issues of it at Wally world when they were switching over to the Motorworks label, $4 bucks each, also got a few of the Lexus & Audi sedans for the same deal, the tires off the little Pontiacs & Saturns work very well on the Mustangs, these are still at Walmart, just under their Motorworks label now & the price is back up around $12 each.
  24. Shoulda been yellow & white, after all it is a Hornet! LOL
