  1. shouldn't be hard to replicate if you have one of the Revell Camaro, or Nova hoods to use as a donor for the scoop.
  2. By George! I think we actually have a winner!!!
  3. I just finally picked up the Firestone Champions tire set from AMT/round2, & noticed that on the back of the package it says to watch for more parts packs & engines, tires in the future, does anyone have any particulars on what they are planning for us. I love the idea of bringing a few of the oldies back, but there are a few engines, etc from the modern era that would be nice to have as separate kits too.
  4. Super!! & it's the right color too.
  5. Yeah, it seems as though most of us have at least a dozen or so of the small barrel ball point pins that don't seem to work, & they make great "Swamp Coolers". along with Detail Masters (or equivalent) speaker covers for the inlet vent.
  6. Olds' & GM had a sort of light salmon color that was almost an orange (very light though) when it faded, I can remember well seeing a few Chevy's in this with a white top, but I only saw one coupe in this color, & it belonged to my late cousin. He later had the coupe painted in a lime green flake with an emerald green fog around the trim & body lines. Yes, it was in the '60's.
  7. Actually the interior in the '62 Catalina is "Diamond tuck" not tuck & roll, these seats work well for a custom seat in many early ('50's-'60's) pickup models.
  8. The old system of lettering, was the height of the tire, the width, just like it is now was the following number codes, with 69 meaning that the ratio of height to tread was that the sidewall was 60% of the tread width, & a 50 series tire meant the height of the sidewall is 50% of the tread width, so all tire would get both taller & wide as the letters/numbers go up, a 50 series tire would just have a much lower profile for its tread width than a 60 series would. I hope I have thoughroly confused most of you by now.
  9. Also, weren't the V emblems deleted on the "sixes"? I know that on the "Fuelies" they were plated in the gold color.
  10. The '53 Ford p'cup has a ton of nice choices for early Hemi induction pieces, & the "Chevy" rear fenders are truer to scale than the ones in the AMT '55-'57 trucks, & if you want to build a mild custom you can leave the 'Caddy" tailight option in it.
  11. I may have goofed with my "real" vote, it appears as the numeral dots on the doors are decals, (no panel line) but we will see, mayhaps, Harry has got a bunch of us on this one.
  12. YIPEEEE! really looking forward to these showing up on the LHS shelves. Thanks to Pegasus for finally gettin' the bugs worked out & getting these into production.
  13. Any plans to possibly release it in the future as a 2-in-1 version with the Fiat altered body? I kinda want to replicate a car that used to run at our local strip in the 1960 - '61 years. It was from the Klamath Falls Oregon area, & was named the "Zombie" For those that are into drag racing, a real piece of history is about to go by the way, the Redding, California strip that is the oldest continuously operating NHRA drag strip in the U.S. is going to die, it is being taken over by the City of Redding to use as a taxi-way (its original use from the mid '40s when it was a U.S. Army Air Force field, until 1953 when it was "loaned" to the Shasta Roadsters to use as a Drag Strip) this is being done to keep a flight school that is for training Chinese pilots for airline service in the area. It is a mixed bag of feelings, I can remember a lot of Sundays their both as a young boy, & in my high school years, but it is needed to keep a rather large company from locating to a different location with a loss of income for the local airport services.
  14. I can remember in around '66 or so when our local Woolworth's (remember those?) had a model car contest, & the winning car was kept by the store for display purposes, & my Uncle who was assistant manager got the model when they were through with it. Well back to what I was going to say in the first place, the entire model (except for the AMT '29 Model A Ford roadster body) was built using Revell parts packs, it had the tubular drag car frame, with the Cadillac engine, drag wheels & tires, it even used the "show car" stanchions, & display items. the body was converted into a one piece tilt up style ala modern Funny Cars, it was a really nice model the only thing that was painted on the thing was a couple of detail items like the seat, & some pieces on the engine like the magneto, & the body, that was done in a bright yellow, & the entire deal was mounted on a piece of red velvet covered wood for a base, with the show standards, & some silver "piping thread" between them it made for a very impressive display.
  15. Just have to say that this one is a real car (I guess in reality they are all real, some are just scale, & the rest aren't) but this is a "full size" version in my eyes at least (such as they are at this declining age).
  16. Just another one of them furrin cars.
  17. Earlier version? This is a complete new tool.
  18. Nice background, but this time the photoshop dinna fool me (I think) I think that this one's a model, if I'm "receiving" the message clearly. (that's a hint folks)
  19. 1:Now we need the '61 "uni-cab" version. 2:If that is the wrong bed, then AMT made the same mistake when they made their long wheelbase version when it was an annual.
  20. Revell does make a '68 Fastback, in a 2-in-1 version, & if you can find'em still a "Bullit" version.
  21. this is easy! it's a custom Mercedes with a Buick grille.
  22. Yes, it is Stephen King, & wasn't Christine a '57 Fury, not a '58 Belvedere?
  23. Myself, I'd kinda like it if the Drop top Chevy was released with BOTH the "fuelie" V-8, & a plain Jane 235 six, now THAT would be different!
  24. Someone probably already posted, but this air cleaner set-up is the one that was in the AMT Pro Shop '57 Chevy Bel-Air kit.
