  1. Do they make one of these that just "chases" in red? Sure would like to find one. Thanks, Del Oh yeah, GREAT build!
  2. I'll take one! (kinda familiar)
  3. If I can find it easily, I have a V-12 you can have. When I find it I'll give you a bump so you can give an address. I was going to try the "graft a couple of V-8 heads together" deal, but decided to go the Viper V-10 route instead.
  4. it's Friday, where's Harry, asleep again, geez you'd think he's gettin' old or sumpthin'.
  5. I still like the older "fiddly" version of the Willys coupe, & there is a decal set to produce this version that was made by Slixx, the other things aren't really a problem.
  6. I'm probably gonna blow this one, but it just looks like a model from my point of view.
  7. I'm older than this kit, & most of my attaching pins don't always line up either. It's just an age thing, if you have an extra couple of hundred grand, contact Revell, I'm sure that they will be glad to re-tool this kit up to modern standards if you want to foot the bill, as for the rest of us, it's an old kit, even with the flash problems mine has, I'm still pretty happy with it.
  8. Like hunting Easter eggs with the kids.
  9. I really doubt that you could even pay the chrome bill for the 150k, much less even start to put a "true" copy of this car together for anything less than probably 350k. Probably more in the 1/2 a mill territory. I think 150 would be a real deal, now if I had just won that stupid Mega Lotto.
  10. Not that I'm that into the Avanti, but this is the first model I ever built & entered in a contest, summer of 64 if my memory is correct. Don't remember what ever came of the results, it was Geneva & Elanor's Hobby Shop, Los Banos, CA.
  11. or you could just contact Revell for one.
  12. Kinda strange, the ad says that it's in "unrestored original condition", but the original didn't have all of the flames, or the dark orange pearl paint that I see in the pictures they show. Either this isn't THE Orange Crate, or it has been re-done, (I would bet on that).
  13. Omaha orange (state orange to most of us) but competition, or bright orange is very close.
  14. Thanks, those are the wheels I'm wanting, now I just need to find some foo,,er kind sole that doesn't want their set.
  15. Am I the only one who wonders what this would look like with the '58 T-Bird roof on it?
  16. I'm going real, it looks just like the one the guy down the street has. even down to the rear letters, that look proper depth.
  17. O.K. I have to ask, pictures don't show, & the ol' memory is fuzzy, were the rear wheels knock off type Halibrands or did they use lug nuts? I'm looking for a set of the front tires & wheels, & the rear wheels if they are of the knock off type for an early sixties Super Modified. Any help out there? Thanks, Del
  18. frame is a Testors Chezoom chassis from one of the "full detail" kits.
  19. Maybe Chrysler will see this one, & see where they need to update the styling a bit, & bring the Magnum back, that tail light treatment makes the Magnum styling really pop.
  20. That's the reason I said real, not many modelers are going to try to hide the wiring, & all the cables, on the other hand a full size biker will on occasion, to clean up the appearance & not to have so much "clutter" around the front of the bike. Kinda ironic, when I was doin' the custom/racing thing with my brothers bikes that we went to so much work to conceal all of those cables & such, now if I left them off a model, everyone would think it wasn't finished properly, 'cause I didn't put the cables & wiring in place.
  21. The part that he sees is the rear bumper for the Alternomad, The sort of '57 Nomad conversion for the Impala, they share the same basic chrome tree, & the factory just didn't bother to weld shut the feeder for this part, maybe this means a future re-release?
  22. Real, to reveal the reason later.
  23. one of those little "Stovebolts" with a 270 Jimmy would eat that baby for lunch.
  24. Wow! The wait is apparently well worth it, now if I can just force myself to stay home until the kit actually arrives at the local Hobby Shop. (I think they would frown on a tent tossed on their doorstep).
  25. I was in at the local "Wally World" (Walmart) & saw a "Limited Edition" Jada die-cast of a '72 Chevy Pick-up that has a beautiful set of wide whites, they are on a set of chrome wheels with "baby moon" caps, with the centers of the wheels in red. really nice tires, even though the wheels might not be what you're looking for, they do go along with the "lead sled" look. Oh, by the way, nice build!
