  1. If you can get them, the Ford 9" rear axles from AMT mid '90s NASCAR kits work very well for street rod projects, you don't even have to remove any molded in brackets to use them.
  2. I noticed while looking at your photos of the seats that the variations in the color are not consistent from picture to picture, & since you said that it isn't noticeable in person I bet what we are seeing is just light reflections & some shadowing that is showing up in film. Keep up the good work, a great build.
  3. I'm probably wrong on this one, but I'm gonna say it's a model, there's something about those chains that jus' don't look right, & no binders in sight either.
  4. I actually don't like it, do you have one of the original release bumpers to trade?
  5. Probably 'cause this time it is a "California Wheels" series kit instead of one of the "Limited Edition" ones.
  6. (Kinser) I am waiting on that one also, hope they can remove the Goodyear from the tires on that one, like they have on all the street cars (I already have a bazillion of the others,so it would be nice to get some "blank" ones to use on some of the Hoosier era cars).
  7. Not only that, but they reissue a great kit as an SS (good), then the box art doesn't even have any of the SS emblems on it. Some kinda strange, huh?
  8. A little help here, look for them in the stamp department, they are powders that are for making fancy stamps, they are intended to be sprinkled over a glue, then heated, to make a shiny puffy ink style, we just don't heat them (obviously).
  9. And that tips you how? there is a lot of difference between the '61-'62 models & this '57
  10. /addendum: still a model, die-cast, mis alignment on the doors could confuse some, but the window in the door seals it, the real car has a chrome outer frame, this one doesn't.
  11. I have to go along with the masses on this one, on close examination it appears to have some strange paint build-up alont the rear of the front fender, & the front of the door. Model!!
  12. think it's a Bradley, & not a Bailon?
  13. Man, I just gotta say real on this one, of ol' Joe would probably look me up & kill me personally, the style is just there on this one.
  14. I finally opened mine, just couldn't stand it, I especially like the separate fascias, but for a slightly different reason, mine is that there are no mold lines to mess with, resulting in less work to prep for paint & a better chance of not hiding any detail under paint/primer build up. Also what's with the Mach1 style decal for the rear panel, it doesn't show up on either versions on the box, or in the instructions. Is this a hint of things to come?
  15. Gloss Gull Gray is the color that the 1:1 teams use on their cars, so that would probably be the closest to use, & it is still available as a Testors color.
  16. I was a little hesitant to try it, but the white lacquer primer from Testors is on par with Tamiya primer, & you can get it at your local hobby shop.
  17. Dropped by the local LHS (the one with the preferred partner program) & the 2010 Mustangs are in, I haven;t opened mine yet, since due to a pending neck surgery it will be about three months before I will get back to building again I didn't want to over stress my self. They also had the new? Texaco '50 Chevy pick-up, & the '62 T-Bird from Round2 on the shelf. Not a bad week for modelers.
  18. Got mine on Monday, I was busy with the grandson (watching old Bugs Bunny cartoons) & we both had to take time out from our busy evening to browse through the issue once, then get down to some serious reading. Gonna have to get back to Bugs some other evening. Oh for those that don't know us, Micah is only three years old but has to "read" every issue of the car type mags we get (full size or model) & thinks that he has to help Grandpa with the building of every model that comes in the house. He can also name properly every model that he has "helped" on. We will have a future modeler there.
  19. OOOooooooooo! please excuse the drool on the page, this is just one of the cool things that Round2 could do for us in the line of "parts only"
  20. I too have to vote real on this one, the tires were a thought, but the rear of the wheels look right, & I think the detail on the interior did it for me, rear shoulder straps, got to be real.
  21. If your files get extremely plugged with plastic filings, you can soak them in a solvent like acetone, or MEK, then use a brass wire brush to clean out the teeth if the "gunk" doesn't just fall off in the soak.
  22. I'm gonna go with Real,,MODEL, looks like a 1/8 scaler to me.
  23. WOW! Don't sneeze, or you'll lose one of 'em.
  24. I think that the wheels would look killer if they were done with Testors "Smoke" over the kit chrome.
  25. The carpets in the '57s (if your interior is red) are mainly red, they have a small amount of black threads in the weave, that can be imitated with a little black flock mixed in with your red, you can also use velour (velvet) for carpeting in these if you go one solid color.
