"Reclining"?, or "Declining", if you're reclining it might be a bit hard to do some of the things, & your arms will get tired very quick.

It would be much easier to use the JoHan '56 Pontiac for the main body,& either the AMT, or Revell Nomads for the roof,& the Revell chassis with the 'vert crossmember. That's the way I'm going on the one I'm building.

But most of us that have a thing for cute girls on the hods of cars, don't want them painted there .

Real or Model #163 CANCELLED!
horsepower replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
Really close on this one, but I have to say it's a very well done model, or it's very light on it's feet for a real car. -
I don't know if you know or not, but AMT/Round2 is releasing their COT kits in a generic white kit, & if we all ask often enough maybe they'll even change their minds on the full detail glue kits.

Now, THAT is one Haulin' El Camino!

Got the coil wire pulled so no one can steal it?

You're BACK! & in black at that! great build, black is truly one of the hardest colors to get "right" even in full scale. I learned a tip from a "master painter" when I was doing the full size cars that works well on our "babies" not only on black, but best on solids {not metallics/pearls). After you get a good coverage with the main color, make each following coat with more thinner, less color, & add clear, then add the last couple of passes with clear & thinner to get a surface you can polish. This will result in those three foot deep paint jobs, works especially good on Blank & Red.

Real or Model #162 FINISHED!

I'm not sure if it's 1/24 or not, but both of the big Ford pick-ups from Revell/Monogram have the 460 with a C-6 in them.

Use Ford's Wimbledon white, this is available in spray from Testors in their new two stage factory colors.

You can get a little bit more flair with very little extra work, if you first heat the tubing (don't go to hot, aluminum will heat to the point of melting without changing colors)over an open flame first, this softens the aluminum, & makes it easier to stretch out the "bell".

The "Old" licensing "Bug-a-Boo" strikes again! We lose, unstead of a real deal in a 3 in 1 model, we get a so so 2 in 1. -
Not to rain on your great post, you could do it this way, or save some time & buy the pins that Wally World sells for crafting that have a ton of colors, & some clear ones also. I have also seen them at Michaels they come in two different sizes, the smaller size is in the sewing department at Walmart, & the larger sizes are in the crafting area.

Real or Model #161 FINISHED!

Probably flunked this time, but it looks more like a model to me, something about that rope jus' don't look quire right. Forgot to put it in the original post, but I think it might be one of those new 1/6 scale models, thought about gettin' one so I could put in one of those neat "Hot Rod" small block Chevy engines I won a couple of years back. -

And the fact that it has a brass tube chassis under it, & it's sitting on a piece of slot car set-up track would be a dead give away that it is indeed a slot car. -
George, thanks for the answer, I agree, from the looks of this piece, he did some excellent work. I wish him well & we'd welcome him back to the hobby anytime he feels like it.

Is SJS Details still in production? I picked up a Ranger Extra cab at the Western NNL this past weekend, (great casting) & wondered what they suggested to use finish up the interior bucket, the one they provide has the floors, the extra cab portion with jump seats, & the center console for a sport cab style, but no door panel, & they don't seem to match any of the kit interior tubs I have for side panels.

Big Drag to return?
horsepower replied to jbwelda's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree that it's about time that they pulled this out of mothballs & gave it a chance to run, I saw one of these at the Western NNL this last weekend, the guy was asking $500 for it & didn't even bat an eyelash or stutter. As for the parts packs, this is something I've been pleading about for years, & all I get is that thee isn't enough interest in parts packs to make it worth while for Revell to tool up & release them again, but there is enough interest int the big kits? Wouldn't the same people buy both, or at least a large portion? Oh well, deaf ears I guess. It was great to see all of the upity mucks from the mag at the NNL, I hope they had as much fun as my wife & I (or at least me) had. -
One more step that will get away from the Caddzilla look would be to use '59 'Vette tailights, they fit into the Fleetline rear quarters pretty well, & keep teh lines pretty close to original looking.

Or, since we're cuttin' everything down, why not use the little "two holer" from the Mickey Thompson Attempt1 kit?
