  1. Is SJS Details still in production? I picked up a Ranger Extra cab at the Western NNL this past weekend, (great casting) & wondered what they suggested to use finish up the interior bucket, the one they provide has the floors, the extra cab portion with jump seats, & the center console for a sport cab style, but no door panel, & they don't seem to match any of the kit interior tubs I have for side panels.

I agree that it's about time that they pulled this out of mothballs & gave it a chance to run, I saw one of these at the Western NNL this last weekend, the guy was asking $500 for it & didn't even bat an eyelash or stutter. As for the parts packs, this is something I've been pleading about for years, & all I get is that thee isn't enough interest in parts packs to make it worth while for Revell to tool up & release them again, but there is enough interest int the big kits? Wouldn't the same people buy both, or at least a large portion? Oh well, deaf ears I guess. It was great to see all of the upity mucks from the mag at the NNL, I hope they had as much fun as my wife & I (or at least me) had.
  3. One more step that will get away from the Caddzilla look would be to use '59 'Vette tailights, they fit into the Fleetline rear quarters pretty well, & keep teh lines pretty close to original looking.

  6. Great job,,,,but the X-member in the frame was only used on the drop tops, or the Pontiac chassis.
  7. Try the wires from Revell's Escalade, I know they're supposed to be 24s, but on the 1/24 scale kit they should look about right.
  8. It has a great possibility as a dual purpose vehicle, if the "passenger" should fall out the back while in transit, it instantly turns into a mobile crematorium.
  9. The thing I have noticed is that these transfers are quite temperature sensitive, both the transfer & the surface to be installed on have to be up to at least 50 degrees farenheit for them to stick properly.
  10. I got mine two years ago in an Antique store of all places, for $18 plus tax, sorry there was only one in the store. I am saving mine to rob engine & suspension pieces for a future '32 Roadster build, (one of the three of those I haven't opened yet.
  11. To go along with the "Grim Reaper" theme, lay down a dark charcoal metallic, & then a transparent "Candy" red, you'll get a very deep "Old Blood" candy red that will come alive along the highlights.
  12. I remember building that kit back when I was very young, 10 or 12 I believe, I sure would like another whack at it now. Even though I might be just as limited by eyesight now as I was by age, or lack of then.

  14. I personally am going to stay in the model lineup for finish primer, I am trying the Testors one coat system white primer, I haven't tried it yet, but will let you know when I do how it works out.
  15. I just gotta say model, there is something a little beefy about those front mirror stands.

For those that can't find the picture, this is the old Monogram 1/24th scale roadster kit & the wheels are also available on the less desired "32 three window that was released under the Beach Boys Little Deuce Coupe at one time, these are fairly easy to find on Ebay, at a reasonble price & have some nice "Deuce" labeled valve covers, & air filter top in the box also.
  17. Do you get strange looks from some of the women while you're trying to pick out a nice color? I get the srangest questions & looks from the salesladies at the local Walgreens, but the ones at Walmart have learned, & are eager to point out a new color if I haven't picked it up yet.
  18. remember, that "as delivered" these baby's came with plain old skinny 15" wheels on the rear, & they had A-100 buckets in them also.
  19. I can remember in the mid '70s we took apart one of those old Shasta trailers that had seen its better days, & we used the flat sheet from the top panels to put the interior in our dirt stock car. The irony? We raced at "Shasta Speedway" in Anderson California.
  20. Sure it wasn't a 426? these first hit the drag scene in '64, after NASCAR banned them from competition, even a couple of circle track factory racers turned up at the drags. (the easiest way to tell them apart is the early Hemi's had the distributor in the back).

    This kit has seen several re-issues over the years, but it did see the light of day for the first time as the "L'il T".
  23. Stunning!!! The finishes on these are deep enough to have Hoffa's body buried in there somewhere, I really like the "Burple/Black" '56.
  24. Even though Chrysler did offer a color that they called "Petty Blue", the best match in spray cans is "Grabber Blue". We used this as a touch-up color on our 1:1 Pro-4 late model that was done in the Petty Blue formula in Dupont paint.
