  1. Been watching this one , that turned out really nice .
  2. That 56 is gorgeous , but you should have stuck with the stock tail lights , JMHO .
  3. Dude , that's rough , hope you can make a silk purse out this sow's ear .
  4. Just looking at Boyd's builds , everything is hidden , except the brake lines to the master cylinder .
  5. There's a built up on ebay now for under $20 , it still has a couple of days to go .
  6. A fantastic artists perception of an american junkyard , now I know what to do with all my glue bombs . Now on another note , It's been my experience that cars are a reflection of their owners care for them . Many are subjected to harsh environments and not cared for properly . Tom mentioned the 55 headlight rust , a common problem because dirt and debris would collect above the headlight from the tire , but simply hosing it out when washing the car would alleviate much of the effect . I know , that's what I do with my 55 , I've owned it since '95 , my brother-in-law bought it in '75 and started the rebuild , no rust then either . It was fun to drive , but had terrible brakes , got about 10 miles to the gallon if I was light footed (302 , tunnel ram , 2 holleys and a 4 speed ) and steered like a truck . All those things were up graded to newer technology and have served us well . The rusted out newer models were probably due to the heavy salting of the roads up north in the winter , another problem that could be slowed down buy cleaning the auto regularly and hosing off the bottom . Many of us just see their cars as Tom said , an appliance , to get us to and from our destinations and that's sad . Anything we own , we spent money for , should be accompanied with the respect and appreciation for the benefit it provides . But that's just my opinion , it and a couple of bucks might get you a cup of coffee .
  7. Very nice , always like your take on rods .
  8. wow , fantastic car .
  9. Received a couple of oldies but goodies , AMT 28 sedan AMT 49 Merc , been wanting the 28 for a while , the 49 was just right place right time .
  10. Several years were modeled , which kits do you have ? No , all engines are not painted aluminum . They used to , but not now . yes , scuff the tires
  11. , worked around a lot of cranes , both using and running them , over 40 years experience , never understood how this happens . Someone wasn't paying attention to what they were supposed to be doing , understanding load limits and how they change the farther you get from your base , you have to be able to tell when it's getting dangerous and say no , can't do that . Or was this equipment failure , I don't see the end of the outrigger , did it fail , or the ground collapse ? Glad no one was injured badly .
  12. The mind stays at it's favorite time , but the body doesn't listen .
  13. Wife and I were over in Waynesville on vacation last year , beautiful area , the heat was about the same , but the low overnight temps were great , mid 60s .
  14. We always like to share our blessings .
  15. Yeah , we've ( here in Florida ) only got 3 more months before the heat starts to fade .
  16. wow , Mike , I also bent tubing for a living for 45 years , almost all in the commercial sign industry . Did a few artsy projects for myself and family , but that's about it . Since the introduction of LEDs , the neon biz has bottomed out , but there's still so much you can't do with the LEDs that is possible with neon . There's probably not half a dozen operating neon plants in the area now , I still have all of my equipment packed away . I use my vacuum pump to evacuate my resin casting tank .
  17. You got it , the drs say it's pretty far along , Gleason scale 9 out of 10 , but it's only in the prostate at this time . I've got 3 months of hormone shots to shrink it and then 9 1/2 weeks of radiation to treat it .
  18. Got the big C diagnosis last week , starting treatment this week , yipeee !
  19. Is that the only rear lense in the kit ? or is it a custom option ?
  20. That would probably be up to you , if you're weathering it , the wing could show a little damage . With all that dirt flying around it's bound to get dinged a little . New from the builder , yeah , strip and repaint .
  21. Day 2 , I'd go with F60s on the front and L60s on the back , get a little rake that way .
  22. Looks like a Holley 4010 mounted backwards , I had a couple of 650s on my blower motor in my 55 .
