  1. Here is what I found that has me thinking about trim. I know these are not Nomads but just Sedan Deliveries. Nomad Trim on Tailgate Shaved Tailgate
  2. A friend of mine has a used car business that his grandfather started in 1956. He has been very helpful over the years and thought I might try and do a model with his company logo on it for him as a surprise. I decided to start with Revell 1956 Nomad and going to do semi custom delivery wagon out of it. Sanded the side rear windows smooth and glued them in place for a logo to be printed on decal film and placed there. I am looking at Tamiya Light Blue Blue Metallic and Tamiya Pearl White for colors. Looking for a few ideas as to what to do with trim. Right now of course it has the Bel Air trim but not sure whether to leave it? shave it all off? leave just the curved bottom portion and reshape the front end of side trim? Also been thinking about whether to leave or shave the tailgate? Any thoughts or suggestions?
  3. No updates yet. Haven't had to much time to build. Thanks for the comments everyone.
  4. Looking good
  5. Trying to get a feel for how the possible wheels wil look. I primed and sprayed them with Dulicolor Bumper Chrome.
  6. The weather has been beautiful this week in Maryland so, I decided to get another model painted. Dug out my 57 Del Rio Wagon. I used Tamiya Grey Primer, Tamiya Champagne Gold and Tamiya Mica Red. I thought the colors might look good together, what do you think. Need to Bare-Metal, clear and polish yet. I need to figure out interior color. I will be building the stock 312 cu in. with the supplied supercharger. I have some custom resin wheels I'm thinking about using, not sure yet. 7. Being a Dodge man as I am, I'm sitting here prepping a 57 Ford Del Rio Wagon for primer thinking to myself "Why am I working on a Ford?" We need more different model subjects than the Ford and Chevys all the time.. I am loving Moebius with all there offers that they are doing. Have multiples of each but want to build a semi custom wagon for a change. Would be great if we had a Chrysler wagon of some sorts. Does anyone else feel like we need more Mopar models? I do not remember to many 30's Mopars except the 32 Chrysler, 40's Mopars - 41 Plymouth, 50's Mopars - 55 thru 57 300 Series unless you can get a hold of some old Jo-han kits.
  8. Will be following as I have had one for years and don't really know what to do with it. Interested in what you come up with.
  9. Thanks for the comments. I have it just about completed, just a few parts and final clean-up to do then it will be all done.
  10. Haven't found too much on the interior yet but, I'm just going with stock Biscayne interior with a 4 point roll cage. I will add a horizontal bar behind the seat. Here is a pic that I found showing the cage through the windshield. As far as Jim Reed's car, here is a link for MarkJ build-up off that car that might be good to follow. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/41715-1959-jim-reed-chevy/ I believe this book has the restored Reed car in it but, I'd have to check mine when I get home to make sure. http://www.amazon.com/Vintage-Historic-Stock-Enthusiast-Series/dp/0879388986/ref=pd_cp_14_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0HYJQRD0SZEP16N6P5P0
  11. I got to digging thru my stash of kits and found this one in the pile. Forgotten that I had this far. Guess I should go on and finish it before something happens to the painted body. The actual car The model Revell 1957 Black Widow with Fred Cady Decals PPP Wheels and Tires
  12. Loving the stance on this. Choice of wheels is great. Looks great. Can't wait to get another Moebius kit.
  13. Looking good. Can not wait to get another Moebius Model in my hands.
  14. Update? Did you get it completed?
  15. Went looking for info on interior color and was suggested to look at the dealer catalog from 1959 to what was available for colors in a Biscayne. Here's what I found. https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits/Chevrolet/1959-Chevrolet.pdf Unless someone has photo proof, I guess grey would be the way to go. I found this on-line. Looks to be a scanned catalog and I pulled a few pages from it.
  16. Ok this is what I have to date for this build. Actual Car Model Resin from Time Machine Resin I am using the Revell 1959 Impala for a donor but the windshield to small so I have gotten a windshield from an AMT 1959 El Camino to use that seems to work, need to clean up opening yet to make sure. The rear window I am not sure how to proceed with as the Revell Impala one is too small to work. The resin body has some small issues to clean up but not to bad overall.
  17. Don Yenko even got his hands on them to make a Yenko Stinger Vega.
  18. Hope we get some new decals for these? I know Cady and Slixx has decals for the Grump 65 Winternationals Winner and Slixx has Shirley Shahan decals. But would love to see some of the others. Ken Montgomery, Jack Werst, Butch Leal
  19. You may be "late" in your words but after decaling the body, it was placed aside and I haven't done much more to it. Thanks for sharing though. I need to get back to this along with alot of others that I have painted but not been able to assemble.
  20. Thanks. The air cleaner decal came in the kit.
  21. Has it really been that long since I worked on this? Back on this one soon as well as the 56 300 from Moebius
  22. Thanks guys. And as far as the paint goes, that is straight out of the can, no polishing. Couldn't be happier with the paint results out of the can.
  23. Just finished up my first for 2016 that actually started back in 2015. Must say this is a very nice kit. Moebius has hit the ball out of the park with there automotive offerings. Went together great. Not fitment issues. Moebius kit #1215 Paint - Body - Tamiya White Primer, Tamiya TS-49 Bright Red and Model Master High Gloss lacquer clear. Interior - Model Master lacquer Italian Red and Flame Red with Tamiya Semi-Gloss Clear Wheels and Tires - Revel 1932 Ford Torqs with AMT Parts Pack Redlines Let me know what ya' ll think.
  24. She's finished up other than the final clean up. Will posting pictures in "Under Glass" soon.
