Nice work. There are not many pictures of the early versions of the Super Boss interior, but the gauges on the dashboard looked a little different on the versions the kit is supposed to replicate wich are the first two, the dash board pictures in your last post are from the Gary Ries version as it looks today. I looked through my references and here are a couple of pictures of how the dash looked in the first two versions and there has been some additions of gauges since then, and the top of the dash has tuck n' roll upholsery, not the diamond pattern it has today. Another picture where you can see the dash. The headliner as it looks today. I don't have a good picture of the headliner on the early versions but here is one where you can see that the panel in front of the roll bar doesn't have the diamond style upholstery it has today, it's more like tuck n' roll like the top of the dash on my first picture. But I believe the headliner in the early versions would have looked something like the picture above as I don't think the whole thing was diamond pattern all over. Better pictures where you can see the differences on the door panels, the diamond pattern goes up higher on the early versions than it does today. Last version as it looks today so the interior must have been re-upholstered sometime late in the trucks life...maybe even after Malone passed away. But, this is not that important as you really can't see much of the interior when the model is done, I just wanted to show the differences between the versions as I have found out in my researches. When it comes to the Bandag Bandit the differences are more noticable as the whole cab and the colors of the interior are very different between the different versions of the truck.

It's time to "kick the bucket" and look elsewere.

I have never built a car or truck model without an engine and I don't think I ever will as I like doing and detailing them, and I do show them off in the display case. I think I only have bought one kit that doesn't have an engine in it, it's the Italeri Volvo VN 780 wich doesn't come with one, but I bought a resin engine and transmission to put in when the time comes to build it

Nice start Jarda. As you said the Super Boss went through some changes over the years and so didn the others of Malone's trucks, but the recent re-issue of the Super Boss model kit represents the first two versions of the truck. The first version was the 1974ish to 1978 version with Thermo King Diesel Racing Team on the doors, and the second version was the 1979-1988 version with Bandag Diesel Racing Team on the doors, they are quite similar except for some small things, for example the Bandag version had maps on the hood sides and Super Boss AMT Hobby Kit on the side plates of the rear wing wich the Thermo King version didn't have. The colors was pretty much the same between the two versions and so was the interior.

Well Mr Gibson passed away suddenly a couple of years ago.

I have seen pre 66 Mercury's with black engines and gold or chrome valve covers and air cleaners, that's why I assumed they followed the Ford line. I haven't found any list of engine colors for Mercury's other than the flatheads.

Photobucket has stopped the linking service to forums and such unless you pay 40 bucks a month or 400 bucks a year.

Well that's it. I got an email about this this morning and all I can say is it will never happen as long as I live...400 bucks a year to be able to link some lousy pictures to this and some other forums...no way. I'm going to look for another photohost to do my linking. I have had a free account with PB since May 2004 and have not had any problems what so ever, but I will not pay this outrageous price just for some "hotlinking"...I have all my photos on my hard drives so I don't need PB or any other host for storage...the only thing I use them for is to link photos to forums now and then. I just emailed them and made my point clear and told them I would cancel my account if they still want that price...400 bucks to be able to link maybe 20 photos a year, that's 20 bucks a photo.

I'm not 100% sure but I think Mercury followed the Ford model line engine colors in the 60's, in that case the engine should be black with different colored valve covers and air cleaners depending on engine version from 1959 up to at least midyear 1965...and blue from midyear 1965 or 1966 to 1968, from 1969 to 1974 the engines were lighter blue than the 66-68.

I like the Keeling & Clayton California Charger version.

It would be nice with a Victoria or maybe a B400.

I have used Photobucket free account since 2004 and I have not had any problems so far. I have gone over the allowed bandwidth a couple of times but never anything else. Test Pic just to see if it works as it should.

That's maybe possible, but they have to find the tool for the mixer, wheels and other parts that's different from the regular tractor. After what I have seen in the instructions for the Challenge Mixer kit it still had the torsion bar suspension, so AMT changed it to Walking Beam after the mixer kit was done.

The engine in this kit is a four stroke Cummins NHC 250, if you want a two stroke Detroit Diesel there are other truck kits with them, the 8V-92T is in the recently reissued Tyrone Malone Papa Truck Kenworth K100 Aerodyne Transporter. Round 2 reissued the White Freightliner Single Drive kit just a little while ago and I have a couple of the Dual Drive allready, but I think I will get one of these anyway.

Yes that's correct, the NTC 350 is in the 1100 series cab Peterbilt 359, White Road Boss and Western Star and Diamond REO.

The Auslowe 86 inch Aerodyne is a transkit for the current AMT Tyrone Malone Papa Truck and other K100 Aerodyne kits wich has the larger 108 inch cab, as it's a transkit it has no chassis so you will have to use the chassis and drive train from a donor kit The engine on the Auslowe pictures is too short to be a V12, it looks to be the 8V-92T from the K100 Aerodyne kits the transkit is made for. The air cleaner and exhaust parts will be available separate, so you don't have to buy the whole kit to get them. I know in the US dual air cleaners on a KW COE means it has a Detroit 12V-71, but in Australia they use dual air cleaners on almost every truck regardless of engine type due to the dusty conditions in the outback.

The first AMT "small window" cab Peterbilt 359 Wrecker version has a 8V-71, same engine as the 352 kit has, the later 1100 cab issue of the 359 Wrecker has a Cummins NTC-350. If you want a 12V-71 you can find one in the AMT Tyrone Malone Super Boss, Auslowe and Mo'luminum has resin versions of that engine. The Cummins NTC-475 Twin Turbo is not that hard to find, I have bought a couple recently on ebay, a couple of sellers parts out Revell AG trucksand put the parts out on ebay, the engine can be found in the Revell AG Peterbilt 359, Kenworth K100 and T600 kits. If you want a V8 but prefer four stroke you have the Cat 3408 in the Revell AG Kenworth W900, that engine can also be found from time to time on ebay from the same sellers.

As far as I know it was the current owner Gary Ries who painted the frame white, it was still gold when Malone had the truck. After what I have found out during my researches Kenworth supposed to have stopped with white engines 1975, but I have seen white engines in KW's after that and factory color engines before. I have also seen pictures of 1976 VIT 200 Bicentennial Edition trucks with both Cummins Beige and Cat Yellow engines (I haven't found any pictures of Bicentennials with Detroit Diesels), and I don't have any pictures of the actual engine in the Papa Truck, that's why I'm not certain on the color as it could be both ways. But the Bandag Bandit hauler Hideout Truck wich is a 1978 has a silver engine, that I know for a fact as I have picture proof of it. Here is some pictures from my files of the final version of the Papa Truck from when it was for sale after Jerry passed and before Gary Ries got it, Malone repainted the truck like this in the late 80's before the last European Tour 1989. There are no markings on the truck except for the stripes and the Peterbilt bumper is still there. The underside, gold frame WITH the torsion bar suspension, so it was not changed while Malone had it...it can still be there. Interior from the "for sale" pictures. The dash in the Papa Truck, pictures taken at Gary Ries museum, the seats looks to be redone as the inserts should have been all blue, the arm rest on the door panel was also white originally. Another 1976 Kenworth VIT 200 Aerodyne Bicentennial dash, this one piece dash came with the K100 Aerodyne and was later introduced in all K100's

No I don't, I don't think anyone has thought about doing a correct K100 Aerodyne dash...I myself learned about the differences just a little while ago. I don't understand why AMT didn't do a correct Aerodyne dash when they tooled up the then new K100 Aerodyne kits back in the late 70's-early 80's, the Aerodyne kit share nothing with the K123 wich is a completely different kit designed much earlier so it would have been possible. The Revell AG Aerodyne and flat top K100 share tooling, but as they did the roof section with glass and the rear overhead cabinet especially for the Aerodyne version one think they could have done a correct dash too when they were at it. They use two air cleaner housings too...reason...the Australian outback is very dusty so you need to clean the air good, after that it's only to route the piping to the engine. I'm sure the Aussies pretty much had the same engine options as the US customers had so engines from Cummins, Cat and Detroit would have been available. I have seen pictures and videos of Aussie KW's with different Cat 6's and V8's, different Cummins 6's and Detroit V8's and V12's and I'm sure there are other engines used too.
