  1. Well the Papa Truck hasn't been out that often, once for a couple of years back in the early 80's, and likewise for the Hideout Truck, I have two each of the original issue (I bought one Super Boss and one Papa Truck back in 1982, the others I have bought later) and the content are the same, I haven't recieved my new Papa Truck yet but I believe the differences are the decals and tires...otherwise it's the same as the original. The Super Boss Thermo King version was announced the first time in the 1978 catalog, release date September. The Super Boss Bandag version came in 1981, with a changed decal sheet. The Papa Truck was issued the first time in 1981. The Bandag Bandit also in 1981. And finally the Hideout Truck 1981 They were in the catalog for 1982-83 also and I don't know of any re-issues after that until now. But the base kit, the Kenworth K100 Aerodyne, has been out several times, as the BJ and the Bear truck (I don't have that one), a couple of other generic trucks (wich I have) and I think the frame rails are different lengths, otherwise they are the same as the Malone Transporters except for decals, transporter body and tires.
  2. The reason I wonder is that the first truck kit AMT did wich was the Peterbilt 359 "Small Window", and the 352 and the later 359 1100 cab all had a more complicated air ride suspensions, and the other truck kits from the same time period had other types of leaf spring suspensions...so I don't know if simplicity was a factor. The Torsion Bar can be done a bit less complicated and easier to build too if you change the layout and parts a bit.
  3. There are 426 Hemi based engines in the Monogram Funny Car and Top Fuel kits too, but they are not for street use...so the Monogram 71 Hemi 'Cuda engine is probably the only one available if you want to do a street car. In 1:25th scale on the other hand the 426 Hemis are plentiful.
  4. One can wonder why AMT went to the Walking Beam when they dropped the Torsion Bar. Kenworth had other suspensions to choose from other than the Torsion Bar and Walking Beam, they also had the 4-bag Dual Air Spring and the Big Six Six-Rod Leaf Spring for the dual drive, they also had the Page & Page and Monkey Motion suspension for the single drive with push or pull axle.
  5. The AMT W925 Movin' On truck is a conventional truck, the Kenworth COE from AMT are the K123 and K100 Aerodyne, the K123 was out a couple of years ago and the K100 Aerodyne is out right now as the Tyrone Malone Papa Truck.
  6. Yes, many of the under hood decals are missing from kits and it would be nice to be able to add them to our builds...not just the ones I had on my pictures above, just in general.
  7. I have an old Revell AG Kenworth K100 COE where the tires are going away and collapsing on me, mostly the front ones as they carries the most weight.
  8. As I understood it AMT altered the cab and hood tooling when they did the T600 back in the 90's so maybe Round2 has re-tooled the cab and hood...that would be great. I have plans for more W900's in the future.
  9. Here are some other things I would like to see. I like to build old race cars from the early to mid 60's and these decals aren't that plentiful on the market and they are in very few kits. Valve cover decals for the Dodge 413 and 426 Max Wedge cars. Valve cover decals for Plymouth 413 and 426 Max Wedge cars. Air cleaner decal for the Max Wedge and Hemi cars with dual carburetors. Valve cover decals for Ford High Performance engines. I would buy several sets if they were available.
  10. I saw a UK made car program where the guy called even fenders for a car Mud Guards.
  11. The shipping can be quite steep sometimes, I don't know why. But the thing that annoy me the most is the "Global Shipping Program" ebay started with a while back, if you buy a thing for lets say $5.00 on ebay the shipping cost are 6 to 8 times the value of the item at around $30.00-$40.00 with this #¤&¤ thing, the parcel allways goes by the more expensive Priority Mail and all import charges are included...even tho' I usually don't have to pay any import charges for an item for that low price...pretty annoying if you ask me. If you send the same thing with USPS First Class Mail International the shipping is about half or even less...and most of the things passes customs without any charge.
  12. US Mud Flap=UK Mud Guard
  13. All the Galaxie 500 XL's came with bucket seats but they weren't the lightweight Bostrom seats, the XL also have center console. The 427 was on the option list from mid year 1963 on all Galaxies as Q and R-code (Q 1X4bbl 410 hp and R 2X4 bbl 425 hp), not just the Lightweights, before that the top high performance option was the B and G-code 406 (B 1X4bbl 385 hp and G 3X2 bbl 405 hp).
  14. Yes, after what I've heard Fender used Ford colors and maybe even other car makes colors on their guitars. I'm not 100% sure and I can check, after all we have "Guitars the Museum" here in my home town with one of the largest guitar collections in the world and I know the owners.
  15. No, the Papa Truck model kit have have never had anything else than the 10-hole Alcoa's and that goes for the Hideout Truck too, the Truck Mate 5-hole wheels Ben shows he has done the master for.
  16. I have one more... Correct looking 67-68 Shelby 10-spoke wheels...everything there has been available so far has been wrong.
  17. I have bought a couple of sets through Ben and one directly from Jamie and they are very nice, they are not on the Moluminum page but email him and ask...that's what I did. And no they are not plated, that you have to do yourself.
  18. Here you go (curtesy of public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale)
  19. Okay I understand. It's not wrong to do one, so we get more to choose from.
  20. Even tho' I have all the old issues allready I will still get all of them when they come out.
  21. It should not be a problem as KJ says, The W925/K125 designation stands for Torsion Bar Suspension and that's what the kit originally had, AMT changed to Walking Beam later but the frame rails are the same. They should also have changed the designation to W923 for the model to be correct when they changed the suspension, but left the W925...I don't know exactly when they changed the suspension but I know it was after the T559 KW Challege Transit Mixer and before the T560 Movin On and T511 Alaskan Hauler. Apparently also the K123 originally had Torsion Bar suspension but that was also changed to the Walking Beam sometime...the K123 has the right designation now tho'.
  22. Doesn't AMT have a good Mopar LA engine allready, the one in the 71 Duster is pretty nice.
