  1. Replicas & Miniatures Co of Maryland has parts to make the Revell 32 chassis more stock, or should I say more traditional, with rear transverse leafspring, unfortunately he has no website but you can get hold of Norm at this address: Replicas & Miniatures Company of Maryland 317 Roosevelt Ave., S.W Glen Burnie, MD 21061 He can also be reached at his email: replmincomd@aol.com
  2. I was wondering about the hose clamps myself as I'm very familiar with how the AN fittings works since I help a friend as a mechanic on my his Super Comp Dragster. But I thought you had it covered with all your research in the subject, it looks great.
  3. The value will most likely drop as there will be less demand for the older kits, but there are allways people who want the original issues so they will not be worthless even tho' they are reissued. I have two each of the old 80's issue Malone kits but I will for sure get the reissues too when they arrive, lets face it, if you want to build them the new reissues are better and the decals in them are most likely a lot better than the old dry decals in the originals...and they are for sure a lot cheaper. But don't wait too long, they will increase in value quite soon after they are gone again.
  4. Well I have gathered some information and references of Tyrone Malone's trucks over the years so I know a bit about them. You can get decals from Modeltruckin.com, he has both the correct Papa Truck decals and regular Bicentennial decals, and of course lots of other stuff if you want to do anything else.
  5. No the #004661 kit has no metal supercharger, the only metal parts are the photo etch fret and the metal chain...but the wheels are there, the drawback is that they are too shallow and has to be made deeper to get the right look, I have seen these wheels copied in resin on ebay but it was a while ago...and I don't remember who did them. The 5 other wheels are the same Sunraysia 8-spokes as in the first issues and they are also much too shallow for the rear if you compare them to the Interceptor Pursuit Special car from the first Mad Max movie, so they also has to have more depth to them to look right. My plan is to build one as the Interceptor Pursuit Special from the first Mad Max movie and I also have the resin trans kit to do that, the other one will be from the Mad Max 2 Road Warrior movie.
  6. That's what I meant when I wrote "Many 383-440 non high performance were turquoise, and the 440 Magnum in 1968 Chargers" But I maybe should have wrote 1968 B-bodys instead of just Chargers. Yes it's only passenger cars and V8's...I haven't had any pickup truck engine information...but I do now
  7. I have seen at least five versions of it and I have two of them. I believe this is the first issue, I don't have that one but I think it's plain. This one I have and it has #032176, it's a plain kit without extras. This is another version of this kit #043660 with some added parts, I don't have it so I can't tell what's in it. I do have this one, it has #004661 and has the rear wheels you are talking about as well as 5 of the other wheels, photo etched tools, a chain, some card board boxes and Dinky-Di dog food cans and some other stuff, but no metal supercharger or dog, it's plated plastic as in the first ones. This version #043677 wich I don't have has the dog.
  8. Nice subject as the Super Boss is coming out very soon. The Papa Truck was a 1976 K100 VIT Aerodyne Bicentennial Edition so it was already white with red and blue stripes, red, white and blue interior and gold chassis when Malone got it. I have no references on the Detroit 8V-92T engine in the Papa Truck but it could have been white as many engines in Kenworth's were white at least up to 1975 but I have seen white engines in KW's later than that, but it could also have been silver as most of the of 8V-92T's were that color from the factory.
  9. I built one of these a long time ago (back in the late 80's) and after what I remember it went together quite easy and was well detailed. I have one more in my stash so one of these days I'm going to have another go at one.
  10. 1969 Camaro SS - Chevy Engine Orange as Snake said Chevrolet had red and yellow V8 engines 1956-57 but most of them after that are more to the orange shade. 1970 Boss 429 - Ford Engine Blue Ford had black engines with different colored valve covers and air cleaners depending on engine version between 1959 and 1965 and blue after that up to 1974, they used two different blue colors, a darker one between 1966 and 68 and a lighter shade 1969 to 74 1969 Super Bee 440 Six Pack - Street Hemi Orange 1971 Hemi Cuda - Street Hemi Orange 1971 340 Duster - Street Hemi Orange Allmost all Mopar High Performance engines were Street Hemi Orange wich are a reddish orange color, except for the 1964-65 426 Race Hemi's and 413-426 Max Wedge engines, they were Race Hemi Orange wich is a bright orange color with more yellow in it. Many 383-440 non high performance were turquoise, and the 440 Magnum in 1968 Chargers, the Hemi in 1968 and 1969 Chargers were Street Hemi Orange. Here is a guide for you to point you in the right direction...Mopar Race Hemi Orange is not present.
  11. Are you going to offer the Thermo King reefer unit KJ? It would look nice on any 70's trailer...and you have corrected the fault ERTL did on their reefer from the Great Dane trailer and put the gauge panel on the drivers side as it should be.
  12. Looking great!!
  13. I like what you have done so far Chris, this is going to be great.
  14. Very nice build Roger.
  15. Yes all 1970 Plymouth Superbird's and 1969 Dodge Daytona's had vinyl tops from the factory except the ones used for NASCAR racing, the rear window work were fixed up on them and the roofs were painted. So was the SS/E Superbird that Sox & Martin ran in the Super Stock class for a short while, it had a metallic blue top.
  16. New ride for me. I decided to sell my 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe that I have had for allmost 12 years and buy this one instead. So now I'm the owner of a 1963½ Ford Galaxie 500 XL Z-code 390 300 hp with automatic transmisson, color is Chesnut and the interior are the same, I'm going to change the wheels and I'll show what they are when I get them. The car was imported to Sweden i February and came from Downey, CA where it was sold new.
  17. The engine couldn't be raised more than 24 inches from the ground measured from the centerline of the crank shaft stipulated in the rules for 1960, I haven't read anywhere in any rules that the front couldn't be hinger than the tail. Lots of people think that just because the car has a high front end stance it's a gasser but that's not true, most of them wouldn't fit in the Gas classes as they are altered too much...so many of them would be altereds.
  18. The grooves looks a little exaggerated but they look better than the old tires wich had totally smooth sidewalls except for the lettering. The Bandag tires were retreads and how the sidewalls looks could depend on what core they used, I have seen several different versions for the Malone race trucks, he must have gone through many sets of tires over the years and they were most likely different from set to set. I miss one script on the decal sheet tho', I can't find the "Tyrone Malone Mr D.D.D." for the rear face of the small duck tail spoiler on the rear body work anywhere. But I can't wait for the kit to come out.
  19. One lesson for a model builder...NEVER toss anything out, you never know when you need it. I have also learned that lesson the hard way.
  20. Nice truck you're driving now Clayton. I was up in Hesperia a couple of times last month, but it was on work days and work hours so it's hard to meet up.
  21. A cool truck I saw at Turner's Auto Wrecking in Fresno CA a little over a month ago. Kenworth K125 with torsion bar suspension and DD 8V-71 just sitting there in one of the scrap yards.
  22. None what so ever, yes it was a nice trip, we drove a bit over 500 miles (81 km) that day.
  23. It's unfortunate Clint stopped doing the engines, they were nice.
