  1. I bought myself a resin motor recently. It's a Volvo D12 to upgrade the Italeri FH12 made by P&B Models from Poland. I plan to use it in the Volvo VN 780 wich have no engine or gear box...just a dummy, I would really have liked to have a D16 but there is none available as far as I know.
  2. No the Revell kit doesn't have a tunnel ram, Sox & Martin used a custom made individual runner magnesium intake manifold without plenum in 1970, the JoHan Sox & Martin kit has a Weiand magnesium intake manifold with plenum as S&M went to that for the 1971 season.
  3. The AMT KW K123 is an old kit originally from around 1971 so it for sure has it's issues, AMT also did a K100 Aerodyne about 10 years later wich is better. The Revell AG KW K100 kits are more recent kits of newer K100's and they did both a Flat Top and Aerodyne and they originally came out in the early to mid 80's. One thing I allways do is cut of the locating pins so I can line up the edges on two part pieces better.
  4. As some of you know I was over in the US a couple of weeks ago up in Oregon, Northern and Southern California. We drove from Salem, OR. to Redding, CA. one of the days but not on the Interstate 5 as the freeway is quite boring, instead we went inland through the Cascade Mountain Range on Hwy 22, Hwy 20, Hwy 97, Hwy 31, Hwy 395 and Hwy 299/139 and here are some of the scenery's from that day. Enjoy!
  5. None that I know of. If you want to do the Bandag Bandit and don't want to wait you have to rely on ebay or other places like that to get one...but they are expensive. The Papa Truck transporter is the next to follow and was announced to be released sometime this fall, and Round 2 will most likely do both the Bandag Bandit and Hideout truck transporter too if everything goes well, maybe sometime next year or so
  6. The Super Boss Is supposed to come out this month and it has two decal options, both are for the Super Boss race truck one is for the first Thermo King version and one for the later Bandag version and AMT originally did both versions. But you can get decals for the Bandag Bandit and Hideout Truck here http://www.modeltruckin.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2_143_22 Keep in mind that the Super Boss and Bandag Bandit kits are different allthough they are based on the same tooling, the Bandit has a different hood with pitchfork top scoop, side scoops and custom headlights, the twin turbo setup is different, the exhausts are different, the rear wing and rear tail lights and panel are also different. So they look similar but they are very different if you look closely.
  7. Your new engines looks a lot better than the Camaro ones...small block engines are quite a lot smaller that the big blocks and wouldn't have done this build justice.
  8. They are supposed to come out soon. The AMT Super Boss race truck was announced to come out this month and the Papa Truck transporter this fall if everything goes as planned for Round 2, the Bandag Bandit race truck and the Hideout Truck transporter should be the next to come out after that.
  9. Is it the CRC-273? It's a new product and I haven't used it so I don't know how it goes together and how it fits...but Slixx doesn't cast resin stuff, most of the resin parts they carry are done by Competition Resins in Upland,CA. and they might be able to answer ypur question.
  10. The 1949-53 8BA/8CM flatheads has two belts, the inner belt goes from the crank pulley to the left water pump, up to the generator and back down to the crank pulley, the outer belt goes from the crank pulley to the right water pump, up to the fan and back down to the crank pulley, the fan is lower on the 49-53 engines than the 1938-48 59AB and the 1932-38 21 stud V8 flathead and they had different belt configurations. Over the years Ford have had both two, three and four bladed fans mounted at different hights and locations on the flatheads. So it's not that weird.
  11. Very interesting, this I'm gonna follow as I plan to do a NASCAR Daytona myself in the future.
  12. The Pro Stock class was all new in 1970 and the cars basically were Super Stock cars with more liberal engine rules wich meant you could use whatever engine you wanted as long as it was a corporate one and supe it up a lot more, it had to be naturaly aspirated and use carburetors. So they didn't use subframe connectors wich are a couple of square tubes connecting the rear and front subframes together for rigidity, it was a later development. But soon after in the mid 70's the Pro Stock racers went over to tube chassis in their race cars and they don't flex much.
  13. Yes, but you can't hotlink photos to forums and other places with a free account at Fotki, but it's fine with PB, you have a traffic and storage limit tho', but not if you pay.
  14. The now Revell 1:25 snap kits was first released back in 1982 under the Monogram brand as Snap Tite models. The Unilite "Small Window" cab California Hauler Peterbilt 359 was appearently AMT's first semi truck model kit and it was released in 1969, it was replaced by a later 1100 series cab mostly all new version around 1973 and a kit based on the original issue from 1969 has never been reissued since 1971-72 until now.
  15. Yes everything you see except for the wiring and detailing. Thanks! I bought several of this kit as it's great base to do other 70's Mopar Pro Stock cars, the Dana 60 in that kit isn't bad either with a separate plated back cover, nice Keystone Classic wheels and nice slicks and front runners wich are two sided, Firestone on one side and Good Year on the other, the rear slicks are too small and the fronts are too large for what you are doing tho'.
  16. 1961 Buick Invicta with a bubble top is one of my favourite cars and I have managed to find a decent restorable Annual kit...and I have a Modelhaus kit. I thought about using the 62 Chevy Bel Air chassis for my build when I start with it so I will follow this with great interest. Mine will not be factory stock so I was thinking about using the 401/425 Nailhead engine and drive train from the AMT 1966 Buick Riviera kit.
  17. I also use PB, mostly because it's free and it meets my demands.
  18. I just got issue #200 here in Sweden today and the address lable was on the outside of the plastic bag this time, not as the last issue when it was on the magazine itself...thanks for that.
  19. Yes the Heller kit is a reboxed Italeri kit. One can wonder where they got the paint references from?? As far as I know a Cummins NTC should be beige, close to sand color, not brown.
  20. Before you get too far, the top of the plenum should be turned around, the slope should be towards the front of the engine
