  1. It would be nice if they did I don't know, they seems to be focusing on European trucks more lately and it was many years since the did the US truck kits they have, and I don't know if they sold well. But as the truck kits they have been doing lately they it looks like they have forgotten the market outside central Europe when you see what they offer...the market in the rest of Europe, the US/Canada, South America and Australia can be decent too and they don't have much for them. An example, they do kits of our domestic Volvo and Scania trucks but not in the configuration we have most of here in Sweden and in nothern Europe...all trucks here are COE's due to lenght regulations and load capacity but the configuration are different and our truck combinations are a lot longer and have almost double the payload the short 4X2 COE tractor/trailer combinations have wich most of the kits they offer are. And the Australian truck combinations are even longer and heavier than what we have...so I definately see a market niche there.
  2. Most of the Italeri European truck kits configuration is short wheelbase 4X2 COE's, it's a popular configuration in mid Europe but I think it's boring and the truck without trailer looks if it's going to tip over forward under braking. I would be happier if they did more 6X2, 6X4 or 8X4 wich is more common where I live up in the north. But as I said in my earlier post, I prefer the US trucks.
  3. Regarding the Italeri truck kits...I stopped buying truck kits from them at least 20 years ago with a couple of exceptions, the Volvo VN 780 when it came out and the Peterbilt 378, the reason I don't buy them is the very few versions of trucks they offer as most of their European truck kits are two axle single drive tractors, and the vast inaccuracies of the kits as most of them haven't been updated in many years except for cabs and some other parts, the rest can be up to 40 years old and it doesn't look right on a more modern truck, and the lack of right details on some things like wheel hubs, wheels and such. I have just seen a couple of pictures of their new tooling Volvo kit and it looks like they have updated the last one to more modern specs...FINALLY...but it's still a boring two axle single drive tractor....so more versions please before I buy anything more from them and they have to be accurate...otherwise they will not get any of my money. Italeri have to realize that all trucks in Europe aren't two axle tractors...there are lots of other versions out there too that lots of people likes to build, and it gets very expensive when you have to get at least one kit or maybe two, and lots and lots of aftermarket stuff to be able to build the truck you want. So I have only US truck kits in my stash as it is now because I have allways liked the look of them and I don't have to get as much aftermarket stuff to be able to build what I want. I also would like to see more modern American truck kits and not just the Pro Star and Lone Star, and there are several I can think of that I would buy if they were offered...and of course more trailers. The wheels on the new Moebius trailer looks to be dual mounts to me, at least on the one they have showed recently, so I also hope that's is correct...super singles doesn't make it in my book either...steer wheels yes...but not on drive axles or trailers.
  4. I have the same problem on my old Revell AG Kenworth K100 V.I.T Australia, the front tires are shot.
  5. I have not seen the KTA 600 on his website...does he have one in the works?
  6. Nice interior and I hope the paintjob will work out for you. This kit is a part of the last batch of all new tooling kits AMT/ERTL did in the mid to late 90's before the RC2/Learning Curve bought the company...not much new from them after that.
  7. I'm not aware of any model kits of Tri-Five Chevys with a sixbanger, all kits I have seen have V8's. So the Revell box art artist has most likely done a misstake.
  8. I bought mine from P&P Resin Works some years ago...but I don't know the availabillity for that engine now. But you can try to contact him. ordersppresinworks@gmail.com
  9. Great build Ken, I love to see your work.
  10. Those instructions are for the new tool 56 Chevy wich came out in the early 2000's, the instructions he asks for is for the old tool kit from the 60's wich is a different kit all together. I have browsed all Revell albums at the Drastic Plastic Instructions folder as they usually have instructions for most kits, but they don't have anything for the old tool 56 Chevy, I found instructions for the old tool 55 and 57 and the new tool 56 kits. I have a set from the old tool 56 Chevy and I scanned them for you, they are not exactly from the kit you have but they have to be quite close as they are from the same tooling .
  11. I bought a model kit from Dennis (Model Express) once several years ago...he sent the kit over here no problem at all.
  12. Well I had saved all this information in my files for my own use and I thought it would be useful for everybody...so that's my main reason for doing it. But I can't take credit for everything because I haven't done all the legwork myself, I have found the information here and there on the web (including here on this forum) and I just put it together in a list so it would be easy to use.
  13. Nice indeed.

So if that's correct the engines would be Cat Hi-Way Yellow from January 1932 until June 1979, after June 1979 New Cat Yellow...except for the cases when the truck manufacturers had their own colors as listed below. The old Cat Hi-Way Yellow were a brighter shade yellow than the New Cat Yellow wich is more to the mustard shade. 17. I have tried to post several times but have had problems with it...not fun when you have put in a lot of time on the post. I try to post a new modified list but just get a page not found 404 when I try.
  18. Yes most likely, the Monogram body is the first version of the Firebird Trans Am body used in the mid 80's, but the racers later modified the Trans Am body with a longer nose and some aero improvements. Don "Snake" Prudhomme used the first version of that body style from 1982 to 1985 and the later version with the longer nose 1987 to 1989.
  19. Very nice executed, the detailing is just right without overdoing it, a model to be proud of.
  20. If you have looked into the box of one of the Polar Lights (now owned by Round 2) Ford Torino Talladega's or Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II's you know that they come with everything needed to do a period correct NASCAR car. The kits themselves are not exactly "Pro Modeler" style and are not easy to build as they needs a lot of work to be a nice model, so on a skill level scale where 3 are most difficult they are about 5...with that I mean very challenging. There are two engines in both kits, a 427 and a BOSS 429 (no 428 as they didn't use that engine in NASCAR) so you can build both versions. These are not difficult to find, there are lots of them on the auction site for around $20-$25. Models we need IMHO is new tool kits of 1963 and 1964 Ford Galaxies...the old ones AMT did are ...well old and leaves lots to desire...so we need more correct ones...they can be based on the 1960 Ford Galaxie Starliner tool as the chassis and drive train can be used from that kit...but we need new bodys, interiors and bright parts.
  21. That was my original thought when I put the lists together...I thought it was good useful information for all truck builders...but the moderators haven't noticed and pinned the topic as I thought they would. This topic consists of two different topics merged together and further in I listed these truck diesels again and I also did a list of resin truck diesels as well as a list of truck engine colors...as I said...useful information for a truck model builder. These lists are not exactly up to date right now as some have dissappeared and some have been added since they were put together, but as we can't edit old posts anymore I can't fix it. But here is the link to my original lists wich are in this topic:
