  1. The top pic is an Ikon modded Bronco. The side markers are low compared to the ones on the Stroppe factory pic above. The blue truck side markers are mounted upside down. I guess they're both 76-77's, but I wouldn't base judgment on either of those. Icon has the Icon/Bronco badge and grille. The blue one looks like a quick and dirty resale resto. Here's a vid of a very minty 71 for reference. Nice truck. Long gone.
  2. 71-75. About 450-650 of them. Plus Amazing Baja 1000 truck. Stroppe Baja Bronco Denver Bronco variant of Stroppe Bronco Big Oly and Minolta trucks.
  3. Kit was last issued as Iron Horse Mustang in 75-77 somewhere. Last kit pics were a 67/68 Mustang annual, the Mach 1 kit had chopped roof. Original Mach 1 in 67-68 issue in dark red had twin fuel caps on sail panels, and molded in trap doors on side glass like GT40's of 66-67. Rear vents molded into rear window. Chassis, engine was from 66, or nearly identical. I have 3/4 of issues, never had Superstang. Autolite was next, 68-69, molded in blue, still had same glass, but moved gas caps to trunklid. K-H mags changed to Appliance wire mags. Superstang was 3rd issue, 70-71. molded in yellow, drag option added, and they showed the scored front part of roof and posts removed (Autolite did too, but I don't recall if on instructions. Iron Horse was 4th issue, 74-76? molded in white. Same roadster option, drag parts gone. Gas caps still on rear deck, louvers in rear glass. I think trap doors on side glass faded either with this or Superstang issue. Forgot, turn signal hood was in first 2 issues, gone in last 2. There may have been a thread about this kit in here, and I love the first car. Found it, Dave Darby post, info from Mark B. The IMC/Lindberg Mustang 2 and the Mach 1 were awesome together. I have a builder I want to turn into the pointed HL Mach 1. The 66 Mustang still has the Cibie rectangulars on the tree, and the original 68 Shelby 427 and chassis with sep exhaust slides right under. It'd be awesome to get original back again, but it'll need tool revision for gas cap mounts, and turn signal hood.
  4. IIRC, the 65 Riv has wheels that are smooth and really close, at least in some old issues. Offsets may be diff, but they're decent. I don't mind the texture, was going to throw a grey wash on, car has a ton of chrome, and whitewalls make it woooo busy on the running gear.
  5. They also had the Ramchargers Dune buggy, which had the wedge motor and other bits from the '28 A Tudor.
  6. Well, I can't get to my JoHan Cross Ram manifolds I have, but if someone can throw a caliper on them, I'd guess length from bottom of plenum to port should be 30"?? I cannot find dimensions of the B motor, but has to be 30" from base of carb to port, and short ram basically siameses half that, as you can see the separate round runners start halfway from carb plenum to port. I did not see anything about 18" looking. Pic came from All Par. 63 motor, but same manifolds. ,
  7. Yes, all long ram. The short ram looks different, as it is flat where the runners are siamesed, and the long ram is separate from plenum to port. It'd be pretty easy to box off the runners from base of carb to 1/2 way down length. There has been notes about the short ram being narrower, and it did look shorter in a couple albeit poor pictures, with carb more inboard. This is consistent with smaller engine compartment of Plymouth and Dodge, vs. the Chrysler, where the wheelbase changed, but front end was pretty much unchanged. Wish someone would cast another 61 300 letter car. Love those things. 62 close, but the fins just Exner.
  8. Tim, I think the runners were really similar, but the 30" ones ended up with the carb outboard the valve cover, and the 15" ones were closer to V edge of valve cover. That said, I don't see 15" diff between the two. Now I have to figure that out. Pretty close at a glance though. I learned stuff looking for this. Best part of boards.
  9. Holthaus did a 61 300 I missed. Bought one on ebay that was nice, it arrived with trashed windshield frame. Back it went. Really wish I could find one, the 61 was Exner at his best. Sales dropped precipitously after the lowline stuff appeared alongside the letter car.
  10. Ultimate Guide to Chrysler Muscle Cars by Mueller, p,35 states that the long-ram was not standard, but a variant was available as a short ram and it seems a long ram. Book doesn't distinguish which was factory. The short ram was 15" shorter than the long runner. The short was used in Plymouths and Dodges, as they were much smaller underhood in '62. Hot Rod evidently tested a 62 300H with a ram manifold, but none seem to survive. Best I could do. HTH, Max Wedge came out in 62 as well. The long rams didn't have much top end. The short ram and the Max Wedge intakes had lots, so probably why less sold.
  11. A young lady owned that 57 2-door. I posted it in one of the 57 threads with her beside it. Not to be messed with. Funny. Wicked looking car.
  12. Ford and Ganassi did well. Even with the penalties ACO mandated after qualifying. I loathe ACO for that habit of theirs. GT has huge power out of the Ecoboost V6. Aero is minimally changed from production car too. 50 years out, and they're winning in the class that approximates the Mk II win. LMP's are just too far out there from a useable car. Great race, save for FS1 and FS2 coverage.
  13. Tap it like a magic card, Bill. FIFY The point is fun, imagination, enjoyment. People are talking about RR. I doubt you'll ever buy one, but people that may will see this and think about the future as most do. The RR brand is getting buzz, social media hits. THAT's the real purpose, but the flip-phone masses in here won't ever see that. Their loss. I don't like it well, I like the Buehrig TASCO better. But I like the Syd Mead stuff Spex84 mentioned, and other dream cars. They're fun, and fun to see what didn't happen. Everyone can have an opinion. Just because you disagree, grilling people on what's the point, what's the purpose to get them to justify to you their opinion is rude. Some people do it every time, and it gets old. Maybe if she was in it and it had 37 liter Griffon power. Hmmmmm.
  14. Hiya Art! I meant the Rolls wasn't inventive or new. The TASCO was cool, as was the Lockhart Stutz. TASCO because Buehrig Hoping you're well. I'd call y'all but I can't hear well on phone. PM me. Doc
  15. 48 Tasco. Not exactly inventive. History, it's happened before!
  16. There were a few cars built with chrome fender indicators. Here's a pic of one. There were 5 Apollo TB's built in 67 too, and I can't find it, but at least one had them. Another that is in Google search does not. There were also bumper mounted fog lights down inboard of the bumper turn signals in 67. Funny, I didn't really like these until saw a nice 67 restomod. I've now got 2 builders and a maroon promo. I like the 67 best of the 3, as it had the 1 year only bumper mounted turn signals. I have a 67 instruction sheet, and it maybe had a notation about them?? I used the ones from the Allison Thunderbird tree for it, as well as the glass and some other bits to restore one of the builders.
  17. Minty little Comet. We had metallic green one in family when I was little. 61, 63, and 64 two-doors were faves. Really neat car. Enjoy in health.
  18. All in here. I think you had a couple posts in here too but I had to hunt for thread. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/111789-amt-dirt-bike-2-pack/#comment-1601054

  24. Ebay and shows sometimes have guys getting out selling tools. I always look, probably 35% of my tools were bought from guys getting out or downsizing. My son wanted his own tools, and I found him a nice pile of sandpaper, tools, etc. for $14 shipped, far less than starter packs. Also, great sanding sticks available in cosmetics. Nail finishing sticks can have 1, 2, or 4 different grits. Lots of paint suggestions, I agree. Shows if any around you also have guys selling off stock. Around here, shops want full list at shows, but other vendors have paints sometimes at big discounts. Get good thinner too, you can revive older paints. Welcome back.
