  1. I’ll save most of the story, but here’s the car used for the kit. Bricked room find, 17k mi on it. Dragged home, dropped covers, mains, scoped. Cleaned tanks, replaced seals, changed fluids, nothing really apart. Fired first try. Original paint, leather, top. 40 gal gas tank no gauge. I put fresh plugs in. 2 corrugated breather hoses from cam cover to dry sump tank nearby. I put tiny ding in it from plug ratchet. It was on the box art car still. Subsequent owner smacked wall in EU event, so amazing car overrestored. Of course. If you look at about 9 o’clock on front wheel by Dunlop sticker, you can see original wheel-weights bolted thru the small holes dotted between big holes. You won’t see many
  2. Not to mention non-morons hard to find so that market segment dried up??‍?
  3. There was 1 Super Bee convertible. Dodge in 68 with the Alexander Brothers built the concept car. Consensus seems based on 500 convertible. Looks familiar ? They did black hood, sidepipes (still in there I’d guess) and couple other things, added Scat Pak Bee.
  4. Curtis, we have very similar likes. Enjoy seeing your fairly frequent scores. I’m at other end of collection, but it reminds me of the hunt. Fun times. ???
  5. The 30 is a 1/25 Revell if I’m thinking of the right one (shares stock bits with ex Revell woody) The Phaeton is the 1/24 Monogram kit now rod only. Dave D you type faster than me. Pics of the tub if you have chance, enjoy your builds. Looked thru your photo albums off and on for ages, really nice stuff, rural settings, RR, just wow.
  6. Son just got package from Ukraine, 3wks door to door. Godspeed to a tough people. Sin so many hurt and dying on both sides. I’m unsure we could pull together as well if it was on our turf. Remarkable, sad.
  7. I’ve had auto start/stop on a few cars. I actually use it all the time. Works best on bigger engines, but good system is almost imperceptible. Temps need to be normal range, and if AC on it’ll restart if temps need more compressor. Works great even in stop/go traffic, my AMG has Distronic cruise, so set it to whatever, and it’ll stop/restart as traffic stops and goes. Auxiliary battery too, first one lasted 7y. I drive hard and fast, but it makes big diff in mpg too. Daughter has Benz with bigger 4, works well too. I think torque helps. Never had system in a smaller 4 <2L, but I’d think it wouldn’t be as smooth. I pick up 2.5-3mpg from it on my DD in traffic.
  8. @ModlbldrLooks like a Modelhaus bed. Parts in bag seem to have small rectangular label, Carol usually wrote out year etc on it. Nice find. No more from them ?. Miss those guys.
  9. All grey to me. But probably decent chance at redlines I read/heard around these threads
  10. Fun. Don’t recall a rep of the Packard body proto ever. Superb effort as always. ?????
  11. Don’t forget the cool roadster tonneau plz? You put one back in the 66 Tbird god love ya. ?????
  12. @Steve GWoot! Thanks for efforts to everyone there. Green Hornet coming along? Some wouldn’t turn down a 68-9 convertible GTO, just saying. Mustang closer, OBS too?
  13. I need the tubbed 68 Elky kit. No idea until read TB about it. It had tubbed bed and pro-tour parts. Haven’t had it back, stocker back couple times. Put the soapbox car in too since I have the non soapbox 69 annual. Or a dual kit with Hull Raiser and a hitch?
  14. Seems so. 69, 72 Jeepster wagons both. Early Jeepster with all 3 tops, same for CJ5 be nice. Coronet may not have inner strobe?
  15. Center lock Libres 5 spokes. Emmo still fave.
  16. Truth brother. Last meme.
  17. RIP. John was a funny funny man.
  18. https://theclassicmachines.com/2021/02/23/the-vw-beetle-and-how-we-raced-it/ Brazil did it first. Google TDi cup too for 3 wheel giggles.
  19. Was it same as the bar, gumballs, and horn in the Jeepster wagon that year?
  20. @stavanzerHey Alan- I tried to not single you out, I truly enjoy your responses. It was unusual so I failed to generalize better I guess. Mea culpa. ????‍♂️ I do love a good meme, and there are far more repetitive shrugs. TBH I haven’t bought any either, but I like efforts.
  21. 2001, was a 2d Post, Badman II.
  22. The 68 issue of ‘63 had camper on cover, and actually has stock giblets in it too. Box not at hand but custom was heavily featured on box art. No mention of stock. Stolen pic. @Mark Did “64” issue have Kart still?
  23. Ignore it. Kits are coming fast, doing interesting stuff. It’s not just Alan, matter of fact that’s first time I’ve seen post like that. But many others regularly post in threads about disinterest. Big 2 got burned by NASCAR, so good to see it back, even if I last cared in 70’s. Too far from stock anymore, but cool tube frame, BF motors, and more corners may drag me back. Turning into decent Trans-Am/endurance racers, drag them off to Mulsanne and I’m in.
