Good choice on the tires. And good advice as well. It sits perfectly.

Stunning car and beautiful build.
-
Got to head out to work at 5 so I have been steady at it all afternoon. Wanted to mock the windshield and set it on the chassis to see how it all looks. I am pleased.
-
Grill surrounds painted and all decals for the front applied. All that is left are the red stripes and the lower valance and I will be wrapping this up. It was a fun build and a very convincing result if I do say so.

Decals are 85% done with just the red stripe and the headlights and markers left. Buffed off the mist of green that came through and am getting ready to paint the vent surrounds on the grill in silver. Ill mask off the lower front valance and shoot it aluminum which I should have done first. I should be able to do that without causing a calamity.

I was away for nearly 2 years. I went down a rabbit hole of miniatures and that entire culture of using acrylics and all that entails. But I would come by here on occasion and look in on what was happening. I was signed out when I looked. But then the bug hit me again and here I am.

Looks authentic to me. AMT seemed to have clear parts issues at this point in time. The Firebird also has an ill fitting rear windoe.

That is a beautiful shade. Like cinnamon or something. Sets off the wheels just right. Real sanitary too.

Not sure why the Q on the hood has an off white center. It looks fine in person. Perhaps just a 1/2 of a 1/2 shade darker but not terribly noticable. Just the phone camera I spose.

Got the green shot last night and took the tape off this afternoon. I am very pleased that the line is sharp and clean. Just a light mist on the spoiler and one on the roof which will buff off once dry. Now it is the iffy decals, but if the ones I have already applied are any indication it should go smooth enough. Not so iffy after all.

Truly a stunner. Looks great among your other treasures.

This is looking very nice indeed. Every installment adds yet another detail.

That Sudafed idea ia pure genius. You'll forgive me if I swipe it. As for the rest. .. Keep your chin up and never let em see you sweat

Thanks.. I find them fascinating little trucks with big power and great stamces. The stance this truck has is oob with no mods and it sits perfectly. It has great attitude. I have a couple more and based on the way this came out Ill be building them soon. I have the white sections shot and once I lay down the green Ill post pics. It should be a bad little mamma jamma.

Your build looks excellent. I have one 7/8ths done and I left the track alone. It is a bit wide but it does look pretty cool. Time to break it out and finish it. Thanks for the inspiration. -

Looks great from where I sit Dave.

That's a convincing ride right there. Not a thing wrong with a phantom digger with a Ford 9 in it. I can smell the fuel from here.

Looking outstandong brother. Persistenseois def the key. Stay at it and bring it on home. -
Since I am not finished it's a WIP. Chassis is complete and all I did was add plug wires. The decals are iffy but I should be able to pull it off. I just shot the primer so in the AM it gets the white. By afternoon or perhaps late day I may be able to mask and shoot the green. These AMT truck kits are very nice although the instructions can be vague and I am by no means an expert on these trucks. But it went together without a hitch. I have the black GM Service kit and may make a banked dio with a wall to put them both on. Would be nice to have driver figures though.

I subscribe to his channel and this popped up. He says he is not an engine guy so built that part OOB. The rest is so clean you could operate on it.
