Movie car complete......not happy with it........
Dragline replied to Dave Van's topic in Model Cars
Looks awesome, totally awesome! Jefferson let that team have it when his car was found nearly destroyed. Probably led to a 1st round pick. Or at least a full scholarship. -
This should be one serious bird. I like where it is going and the work is excellent.

Sort of a mini WIP since I've been so stoked to build this time machine I have not really been documenting my build. Like many here I have fond memories of this kit from my youth. Revell's reissuing this was smart, and adding a beautiful decal sheet and a few options make it a no brainer. Calling this a 2 in 1 is a serious stretch, and the posts lamenting the lack of the 5 hole wheels from the red car are an interesting read if you care to look. So Ill post this when it is complete, but I was so pleased with the look I thought I would show what I had been up to. I am adding a 6-71 with sctatch built pulleys. I am using a MCG PE set for the emblems and goodies it provides. I stole the Keystones from the Landy kit and while they are 1/25 they look surprisingly good. I am raising up the rear ever so slightly with some scratchbuilt coils and shocks. The interior is getting aluminum door panels, carpeting and the PE door handles and goodies. Fireball outer door handles in Molotow. Yeah I know.. The 80's called, they want their Chevelle back.

That is a beautiful build. Very nice color and very accurate.

I would be proud of that build were it mine. Very nice.

When all I see are letter and numbers and it is posted by Pat, I click. Killer plane Pat. What the heck was it used for? -
Question for *NASCAR* guys
Dragline replied to Khils's topic in Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
I have the Chevrolet Goodwrench truck kit. It is painted black and I was in the process of removing a bad decal job the previous guy did. The engine and axle are partially assembled (well), the rest is untouched. It has a new Slixx decal set to boot. The decals ara impossible to get these days. Its not a Ford though... -
Question for *NASCAR* guys
Dragline replied to Khils's topic in Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
I got my kits on eBay for 15 a piece. But that was 8 years ago or so. The Monogram NAPA truck I bought was 30.00 I think and the AMT kits are about the same. Great kits of unusual subjects and that was the appeal. -
I never thought this kit could look this good. Wow...

Fantastic color combo. Could pass for 1:1 with the right background.

Question for *NASCAR* guys
Dragline replied to Khils's topic in Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
The components themselves seem to be the same as their car counterparts. The chassis is simply made to fit the truck asthetic. IE Laughlin front steer components, engine. -
I have never been a big green guy but that particular shade is a particularly good one. Very nice build with the right upgrades.
