Good to see this back on track Chris..... Good to see. -
I worked on quite a few of these years ago. That's a nice build.

Since moving back I have tried to get up there Charlie. Perhaps the Dec meeting. I'll be up there eventually.

Al Macs is the best Charlie. I drive by often and stop in and get lunch when i can. Most folk here wouldn't know Portuguese from Polish. And that's not a bad thing i guess. Since I speak Portuguese it usually gives me a leg up when ordering. Bob PS: Look at my sig, i'm back in New Beige.... Bob

I suppose. But the words I used were mild so the censorship seemed excessive. Bob

Honestly.... I post how I feel and it gets the Blah, Blah, Blahed? Seriously weak....................... Last I checked the youngest guy here was 25 or so. I am stunned by the level of societal correctness i encounter everywhere. Make it members only so we can say it how it is. And it's not like I was awful or anything.... I cannot relate my complete shoulder shrugging feelings into a reply that shows my complete lack of disbelief. Bob Frias

Are model kits making a comeback? What gives?
Dragline replied to ERIK88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have no trouble waiting for kits. And most of you shouldn't either. We are model builders. Patience is what sets us apart... I have never been happier building, talking, living model cars. it's a great time to be a builder. Perhaps the best time i have ever known in this hobby. That's saying quite a lot. Bob -
wip- K&K Dodge Charger

I love that Powerslide sheet. I bought one for both this and the Petty car. Or is my Petty sheet a Mikes? Your work is excellent. Subscribed. Bob -
The 1/16 Petty and now Baker Chargers are evidence that Round 2 is dedicated to older kits. The work that went into those is undeniable, and while I'm certain there was sell through I'll wager those 2 kits alone were an investment many times over many of our annual salaries. The tooling for the Petty Dart Sportsman coming back was a great surprise to me. Then there's the reverse engineered kits from Monogram like Rommel's Rod and Tijuana Taxi. Not everyone here likes those kits but I'll wager they sold through. That bodes well for future releases and more possible reverse engineered rarities. I'm happy to get what I get, and as time continues its inexorable slide more treasures will pop up and my unbuilt pile will grow. I'm happy, are there those here not capable of happiness? Times are good in my eyes. Food for thought.

Greatness comes when you buff that clear coat. Not knocking lowering it either. Bob

My first model club meeting.
Dragline replied to b-body fan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks Charlie. Very thorough directions. I'll see you there. -
There were no true fitment issues. Make certain you hog out the front clip stays on the hood. The hood on mine is rather tough but it fits well when down but I had to hog out the parts that glue to the underside a bit to make it transition. There are also very few places to glue the chassis to the body so make sure those are free of paint when you cement them as they are the only anchor points. Thanks for noticing the seats as well. I masked them with BMF and then had to touch up a bit anyway. Using two different paints allowed this. I used Duplicolor enamel for the white and then Tamiya for the stripes. This way i was able to clean up goblins with a little ammonia without affecting the white till I got it just right.

My first model club meeting.
Dragline replied to b-body fan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Going to MAMA meetings were very special to me. I enjoyed them and the friendships made. Lyle W and Norm Veber are now two people I count among friends. Plus one of my best friends of all time Billy B is another I met there as well. Now being in Mass again I realize how good i had it [I realized then though]. I could go up to Norm and order from him on the spot. He always brings tons to the meetings as well. Plus the discounted kits galore. Looks like Masscar is getting a new member soon. if you're a member I'll see you there. -
That door handle trick is one for the ages. I mean,,,,, really, I didn't think of that? I'm watching as this is one of my next projects. NICE.

Every one had so much to take in. As much [or more] art than anything else.
