Revell 1969 Mustang Boss 302............My take with pics!
Rob Hall replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Shelby kit came before the Mach 1. (1988 then 1989). I remember building the original issues of these kits back in the day and being disappointed in the front end of the Mach 1, after comparing w/ my Dad's 1:1 '69 Mustang. -

Probably easier to make them that way. -

At least the 57 Chevy was a real production car, not show car nonsense like this.. -
Revell 1968 Chevy Chevelle SS 396...........My take

I’d assume they would do another body shell if they do 69 variations. This is the new Revell, hopefully without the incompetence of the past. -
Revell 1968 Chevy Chevelle SS 396...........My take

I doubt if they will do a convertible, but a '69 SS 396 ht would make sense. Also, given what they've done in the past w/ the Nova and Camaro kits, '69 COPO 427, Baldwin-Motion or Yenko variations would make sense also... -
Revell 1968 Chevy Chevelle SS 396...........My take

Since the vent windows are molded in as are the marker lights, they obviously would have to do a different body for '69. The 300 Deluxe being the bottom line basic model didn't have that trim either year. -
Yes, and notice it's listed as 1/25th. I'd heard that an AAR version of the recent '70 tooling might be coming.

Revell 1968 Chevelle now in stock and shipping
Rob Hall replied to Brett Barrow's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The kit doesn't have a vinyl top. -
Interesting..I haven't had any issues with HLJ and EMS shipping...I'm able to track in through USPS the whole way to my local PO and then when it's out for delivery. The only issues I've had have been w/ my local PO..sometimes they show a delivery exception when they haven't even brought it to my house (I always catch them delivering w/ my Ring doorbell camera).

Palmer box art looks much better than what is in the box..

I built that one in the first post when it came out in the late 80s..as I teenager then, I wasn't familiar w/ the Mako Shark Built it pretty much straight out of the box.

I mail so few bills (plus a few cards) every year, and with the Forever stamps I have no idea what the current rate is..never notice.

I have found since moving here in June '17 a couple decent ones within an hour or so east of me, one in Willoughby, Ohio and one in Geneva, Ohio. The one in Geneva has a good selection of current kits at competitive prices. I go to Geneva-on-the-Lake and other nearby lake towns once or twice a month or so in the summer and fall, so I've been frequenting that one. -
What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)

My first leaf blower...a small Black & Decker. RRR! RRR! RRR!. Ran around the yard this afternoon moving leaves around. -
They've been doing early deliveries the last week or so I've noticed. I was still in bed at 7:15 (still dark out) and saw my mailman dropping off a package on my Ring video door bell..

I do think Amazon seems to have logistics and delivery working pretty well...even with third party delivery services. I get packages from Amazon 4-5 days a week, and usually no issues.

Two of the odder USPS delivery experiences I've had in the last year, since moving to Ohio.. One Priority Mail package left Illinois, came to Cleveland, then spent 4 days shuffling back and forth between the Cleveland and Akron distribution centers, incl. side trips to a couple random towns and to my local post office, before eventually coming to my local post office and delivered to my home. Nothing wrong w/ the address on the package. Another package left a vendor in Atlanta, went cross country to the Rancho Cucamonga CA distribution center, then back across country to Cleveland then to my local. Though when compared to Fed Ex and UPS, I find I have very few issues w/ the USPS besides those issues w/ my local post office...occasionally I get mail and packages delivered to a neighbor 2 streets over that has the same house number and a similar street name.

Those look like the horrid two piece tires I’ve seen in the AMT Mustang II kits. Hopefully it will have new tires.

So does the ‘77 have any optional parts besides the CB? Looking at pics of the ‘75 annual box art, it looks like it had optional wheels, fender flares, etc. Wonder if any of those parts carried on to the ‘77?

AMT'S PONTIAC 1969 FIREBIRD, KIT 31808
Rob Hall replied to Wm David Green's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'd assume the MPC annual '67 Firebird tooling was modified to make the '68, then the '68 Firebird tooling was modified to make the '69...standard practice back in the era of annuals and why we usually only have the last year of a cycle still available. -
The rumor has been that it's been corrected....but no test shots were publicly shown that I know of, so I guess we will find out next month.

I drove it a few times...was more fun to drive in some ways than our Dad's '79 Dodge Power Wagon.

Back in the 80s, my brother had a '74 F100 longbed w/ the 300 6 and a manual...was a neat truck..
