  1. Looks like a neat kit....
  2. Yes, Revell is going to use social media to advertise to a broad consumer base... they don't need to worry about the grumpy old curmudgeons that don't use FB and just complain about the modern world.
  3. Yeah, I would think the 1st half 2014 release announcement would have some new tools. Of the 2nd half 2013 releases, the Shelby convertible is the most interesting to me.
  4. Beautiful build..turned out great.
  5. Looks like they finally got their announcement on FB, just a YouTube video link..
  6. A lot more people are on Facebook than not... oddly, they haven't updated their FB page yet.
  7. Maybe Revell is using the 'Slingster' name to distinguish the new kit from the vintage 'Sizzler' kit.
  8. Easy...I don't talk about my hobbies at work.
  9. Next year is going to be huge... can't believe it's been almost 20 years. There have been lots of tributes and photos posted on the various Facebook Senna fan pages today.
  10. Apparently the '62 Corvette Gasser is this car...neat http://www.dmcorvette.com/flyerbuilder.php?gen_no=C1&car_no=C11962R0008
  11. Never heard of that Jeep kit....would be neat to see again for the half cab parts...
  12. Definitely a very car related and a model related topic. No different than if someone had made a thread celebrating the life of Dale Earnhardt on the day of the Daytona 500 (I'm a long time racing fan, a fan of both drivers). I have the Tamiya kits of his Lotus and McLaren cars, the Fujimi kit of his Williams, and quite a few Senna-related diecast race cars in my collection...
  13. I'm thinking of doing my CdV in a dark brown w/ tan top and tan interior..very '70s color scheme. Though I like maroon w/ a white top also.
  14. On Tower, they list under Monogram a 'Slingster Dragster' for November..is that this Sizzler under discussion?
  15. I see a bunch of RoG KW wrecker kits (in 1/25th) on eBay that say 'Freds' on them..white w/ orange graphics.
  16. I saw that thread and wondered what a 'Can Do' (Steeps) is..the livery of a past issue of this kit?
  17. You have to search under Revell and Monogram and look for kits w/ release months later this year.
  18. Neat old kit, lots of options. I have one in my stash.

    What if...?

A what if I'd like to build in scale is to kitbash the roof of an AMT '65 Galaxie onto an AMT '65 Lincoln to make a phantom 2dr.
  20. Here is a Foose '69 Camaro, don't know if this is the one the kit will be 'inspired' by.. http://www.superchevy.com/features/sucp_0708_1969_foose_camaro/viewall.html Though a google image search on 'Foose 69 Camaro' comes up w/ several different cars...this black one, a red one, an orange one, etc...
  21. Sharp build. I saw one of these in person (yellow and tan) in Florida back in the '80s. IIRC, there was a car magazine ad in the late '70s for a CB radio that had a yellow one w/ a hay bale in the bed.
  22. There about a dozen other kits listed on Tower's site as new for fall...some predictable follow up 2nd versions of recent new kits ('50 Olds Custom, '57 Ford stock car (Fireball Roberts), '62 Corvette Gasser), some reissues (Motorcraft T-Bird Pro Stock, '37 Ford street rod, '78 Corvette Indy Pace Car, Rat Fink, '53 Chevy Panel, VW New Beetle, KW Wrecker), one modified reissue I'm interested in ('69 Shelby GT500 convertible) and likely a rebox of the upcoming RoG '60s Beetle.
  23. The grille illustration on the new box art mock up actually kind of resembles a '67 grille more than a '66.
  24. Neat idea... I like Instagram, use it both on my Android phone and my work iPhone.
  25. That's what it says...
