  1. Nope, the Impala is staying FWD (new FWD Impala due for '14 on the Epsilon II platform). The current rumor is the car will be called the 'Chevrolet SS Performance'. Odd name, I would have thought 'Chevelle' or 'Monte Carlo' would have worked better (esp. MC because of the NASCAR angle). I like the current Charger quite a bit, it will be nice to see a competitor from GM again after the short-lived Pontiac G8 (which this car is basically an updated version of). I wish Ford would also get back into the RWD sedan game, but alas they are stuck w/ FWD in the US.
  2. It's a reissue of a RoG kit from the early '90s, I think.
  3. Yeah...I have the same problem...neighbor has 5 cats..they refuse to keep them in their yard.
  4. From what I've read, the Fujimi kit tooling is relatively new, similar to their prebuilt resin kits from a few years ago. All the old '70s era kits (like the Imai and Testors reissues) had the big fender flares, didn't they?
  5. He used to be a semi-regular on the Spotlight Hobbies forum...don't know if he's still a regular there as I don't go there often anymore.
  6. What are you going on about? There never was a promo made of a '67 4dr T-Bird. AMT made 2dr kits and promos back in the '60s. This is a Modelhaus resin kit.
  7. Cool... I liked Tony Stark's future NSX roadster in the movie..
  8. ???? This is a Modelhaus kit.
  9. Yes, and the newest Silverado kit is the Revell '99...even worse is Dodge--the only kits out there are long out of production '93-95 vintage. I'd love to see some current trucks kitted, like the Ford Raptor or the current Ram. Some current SUVs also would be great.
  10. They were pretty rare then...supposedly only 2000 built.
  11. Revell/Monogram did NASCAR kits into the '00s, not sure about AMT.
  12. '68-77 A-bodies all had 112/116 inch wheelbases, then '78 it was downsized to 108 inches...which lasted through '87 (renamed G-body in '82).
  13. 'acton proformace' ?????? You need to work on your spelling and grammar if you expect people to be able to read your posts.
  14. Not sure why MPC then AMT called it a Vega, it is a '78 Monza S, which was a one year only model--the Monza S had the '77 Vega hatchback body w/ a base '78 Monza nose. MPC did an annual kit of it, then that kit was retooled into the Twister Vega...
  15. Maybe not looking at, but preparing and planning for the future...I spend plenty of time analysing my data and preparing for the next move, the next house, the next job, etc...
  16. The M56 is nice...there is one in my office parking garage I walk by every morning....there was some buzz on various automotive sites a few years ago of a sedan based on the GT-R platform....a 4dr version of the GT-R w/ the AWD, etc which hasn't happened.
  17. I recall a few years ago some buzz about a possible Infiniti 4dr sports sedan based on the GT-R, but it's never materialized...maybe w/ the next gen GT-R a few years down the road...
  18. I can't be nostalgic about a period of time before my own lifetime, but I do have fond memories of my own lifetime (people, places, events, cars I've owned) between the late '80s and 2008, esp. the '90s, but do live in the here and now and look forward to the future. As far as modeling subjects, I'm fond of a lot of '60s-70s cars because I've seen a lot of them over the years and can appreciate the designs...cars from the '50s and before I really can't relate to, but there are some that I find interesting. Mostly I prefer modern car subjects in 1:1 and scale..
  19. Sharp..like the color scheme.
  20. Regardless of what people think of it one way or the other, it would be pretty cool in 1:24th scale...
  21. Tower Hobbies is now showing late June, so maybe early July for general availability...
  22. Pretty cool...too bad it's not priced closer to a GT-R, but given that these essentially are hand-built customs, it's understandable that's it's not volume-priced. As far a more down-to-earth implementation, I'd like to see the GT-R drivetrain in an Infiniti G or M sedan...
  23. There are a few electric charging stations in a parking lot near my office..I've seen Volts and Leafs (Leaves?) plugged in there... going to be interesting to see how the Focus Electric sells.. As far as Prius batteries, anecdotally I know a guy w/ an early one (2001), has 150k on it, still has the original battery..
  24. I did something like that when I was a teenager w/ an exacto knife..was working on a Revell '59 Skyliner. Had to go to the hospital and get stitches...still have a scar on my thumb 25 years later...
  25. I do wonder, though, if those hobbies have a similar demographic skew as car modeling has (i.e. a lot more older modelers than younger).
