  2. Heh-heh.we were in 2K row 7..glad the shade came over when it did..
  3. I was in the Allison stands....saw Casey Mears crash right in front of me..came home today and got a postcard in the mail about the show on the 17th.
  4. 400 tables..wow. I went to the NASCAR race yesterday. I plan to go to the DSC in April, is there another swap meet before then?
  5. My username is my real name, my current avatar is my grad school. (U of Michigan College of Engineering). I change it periodically..
  6. I remember buying Tomica and Siku diecast at Epcot Center when I was there in the 80s...
  7. Interesting...wish the Ace Hardware around the corner from me had a hobby section...
  8. I got stock hubcaps and a rear bumper from the Modelhaus years ago to do mine as a stock ambulance..
  9. I'd love to see a '71 Fleetwood 75 limo in resin, or a '71 Fleetwood Sixty Special.
  10. I have in the past found models in odd places (Winn-Dixie groceries in S. Florida when I lived there, a Tru-Value hardware store in a small Ohio town), but nothing unusual recently...
  11. Nice...I love those MPC big Chevys....I have at least 2 of each year '71-76 in my stash, some restorable builtups, some unbuilt.
  12. Looking forward to this kit, never had one of the AM GS kits, so it's new to me...
  13. The transverse thing is called a 'resonator', I think...I've seen this set up on other model kits also...AMT '68 Shelby comes to mind.
  14. The Modelhaus '81-85 Impala 4dr is very nice. I have it and a resin '81-85 Impala 2dr from an unknown caster I got off of eBay, it's a bit rough but workable...
  15. Looking good...I like the idea and execution.. I'd probably go w gloss black or white for the body but do the hood, flares, and spoiler in a matte black.
  16. From the LHS, the Revell '77 Chevy van..from eBay, a mostly-complete MPC '33 Chevy panel truck, an unbuilt AMT '75 Matador, and an unbuilt Johan '69 Rambler (the 'Pro Street' issue which is not Pro Street). A package from HLJ awaits me at the post office which I'll have to wait until Saturday to pick up (Aoshima '78 Mitsu Galant Eterna (Dodge Challenger) and Fujimi Pantera GTS).
  17. Neat..never seen the movie...The Modelhaus and R&R both make resin '61 Impala 4dr hts, recently picked up a Modelhaus one on eBay...
  18. He was from before my time, but I do remember him from the Brady Bunch Movie in the '90s.
  19. Either... one of my MPC '70s was built w/ Rallyes, leaning towards steelies & dds on another, and period NASCAR style rims painted black on another..
  20. Hobby Depot is my favorite (10 min from my office). I also like Hobby Bench at 19th ave and Northern also. I've been to Andy's a couple times, but I don't get out to the westside very often.
  21. Given how many '60s Chevys Revell has tooled up in the last 20 years or so (starting w/ the '69 Camaro) it wouldn't surprise me if the do a '68-69 Chevelle sooner or later..
  22. Very cool builds...I especially like Geoff aka the 'Hammerhead-i Eagle Thrust'...
  23. Aren't they reissuing this soon?
  24. Rain would be nice...it's a bit early for spring. Haven't gotten much lately other than a parially built Johan '69 AMX off eBay. Waiting on the Revell '77 Chevy van to appear.
