Rob Hall replied to a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Back to Firefox. Seems basic posting works fine in all 3 for me. -

I still see just the 'IP Board' and 'IP Board Lo Fi' options. And USA English. No Canadian English, eh? Or UK English? -

That's all I see. I tried the 'Lo Fi' version, it's very minimalist...looks like something from 1996--white background and blue links, no pics. Trippy. -

Some people refuse to take advice. Non-technical people also don't like to change anything on their computers. -

I thought Microsoft was the Borg. Firefox comes from the open source freedom fighter world (Mozilla Foundation). -

I've used Firefox since it first came out, probably over 5 years ago? Long time, been happy w/ it. I use Chrome a lot recently as well, like it quite a bit. I alternate between Safari and Firefox on my Mac, Firefox and Chrome on my Windows machines. I avoid IE except on my work computer. -
No complaints here...works fine for me. One of the 1:1 car forums I frequent upgraded to this version of IPB a few weeks ago, so the format is familiar to me.

Not sure how shades of dark blue and pale blue could bother anyone. Oh well, can't please everyone all the time. One of the 1:1 car forums I frequent upgraded to this version of IPB a few weeks ago, had a few issues, but overall, a nice upgrade over the old. About the only issue I've had w/ this version is the location of the 'Attach This File'...I keep hitting that when I mean to hit 'Add Reply'...there is a lot of empty space between the text box and 'Add Reply', have to scroll to select it. Oh well. I've alternated between using IE 8, Firefox, and Chrome the last few weeks w/ forums w/ this version and haven't noticed any major issues. -
Next 1/24 scale Tamiya kit
Rob Hall replied to Zoom Zoom's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm actually looking forward to that one. Nice to see some ordinary, everyday modern cars kitted, in addition to performance cars, luxury cars, etc. Probably will be only RHD, though..Fujimi usually doesn't do LHD. -

Interesting...also on that site it says Fujimi will be doing the Prius and HS250h...but the years are odd...since the '08 is the 2nd gen Prius, not the new '10 3rd gen... -

Yes...and IIRC, it's priced over 3x more than the GT-R, so it better be an incredible performer. -
I saw at the LHS today that the 359's companion kit is out now also, the Revell Kenworth W900.

Looking sweet... I have just two Tamiya F1 kits, the 1:20th 1988 McLaren MP4/4 from my favorite season and favorite drivers (been a big Senna and Prost fan from back then). Got to get some more..

Thanks..went to my LHS today, they didn't have it. A New Years resolution is to subscribe and order missing back issues.

Ya, I should have gone back to Denver a couple weeks ago for a buddy's annual Festivus party... first year I've missed it, been going since '02. A house party w/ mass quantities of alcohol, drunken Canadians, the midnight throwing of the decorated Christmas tree off the balcony, snowball fights, karaoke (I love doing AC/DC songs as if sung by William Shatner), great fun...and a great hangover the next day.

I prefer Festivus.

Picked up the new Revell '72 Cutlass at my LHS. I had preordered a couple from my favorite OLD, but couldn't resist one as a little xmas gift to myself. I've looked at the instructions, haven't taken any of the trees out of the bags yet...maybe I'll glue the engine block halves together before xmas. Was pleasantly surprised to see it does include the optional rear spoiler, though I had seen somewhere online that that part wasn't included.

What's on the cover and what month? The most recent I've found at my LHS was October, w/ Challengers and Galaxies on the cover.

Dealing with snowy weather
Rob Hall replied to Simon's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
60s and overcast here in Phoenix today. When I lived in Denver, we occasionally got huge snowfalls..those were work from home days... -
Been there, done that...about 14 winters in E/NE Ohio, 3 in Michigan, 12 in Colorado before the last 2 in AZ... plus 6 in S. Florida mixed in there..
