I've got ideas for at least 3...probably one box stock, one with either TTs or Cragars or the 5-spoke hubcaps from the '65 Chevelle (those look good on '65-66 Impalas, IMHO), and a Biscayne 2dr sedan using the MCW resin kit.
 -
Maybe, though they usually have the lowrider wheels (and the larger California Wheels) on separate chrome trees.
 -
Interesting...I just noticed the box top doesn't mention that it's an Impala. Odd. I didn't even notice that on the one I bought last week.
 -
Cool..I ended getting only a couple bagged parts kits at the DSC...pretty much everything in kits I would be interested in was something I already had. I guess I have too many unbuilts..

Picked up a Revell '66 Chevy SS 396 tonight. Saw the Syclone, passed on it since I have the original issue.

Word of advice---wait until you have the item in hand before starting a review thread...maybe would have reduced the drama...

You could probably get a running 1:1 Nova for $700...LOL -
Got in the mail yesterday a cleanly built, fairly complete AMT '67 Corvette coupe, w/ box and instructions that I'd got off ebay a few days ago. Made the rounds of some westside hobby shops today, picked up some more Tamiya 1:20th F1 goodies--Tire Changing Pit Crew, Williams FW1B Renault, '77 Tyrrell P34 (the wild 6 wheeler I remember reading about in Road & Track as a kid), and the recent reissue of the old Monogram '32 Ford.

Fujimi announcement and more Aoshima wheels
Rob Hall replied to crispy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
As far as Countach kits, I have the two Tamiya kits (400, 500S), the two Monogram ones, and an AMT (ESCI rebox). That's enough for me.. -

A couple items of interest for me, esp. the Lotus 79 and FW14B. I'd love to see a Lotus 97T tooled up (the Model Factory Hiro version is way too $$$ for me). -
A restorable Johan '64 Plymouth Fury convertible arrived today. Has the box, most all the parts..chrome clean, the body has been painted but is very clean, all the trim intact. Needs the windshield frame repaired. Will go nicely w/ my Johan '64 Dodge Polara conv.

Have to glue the wheels in place to keep it from running away... -

AMT 25 T Double kit review with pics
Rob Hall replied to Mr. Metallic's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The box art shows a pickup box and tailgate for a truck version. Are those parts included? Haven't seen them mentioned. I seem to remember an AMT Model T pickup sometime in the last 20 years or so... -

				2005-09 Chevy Kodiak/GMC Topkick
Rob Hall replied to awan's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Those older ones have a totally different cab than the '03-09 models, though. The '93-02 Topkick/Kodiak cab is based on the '88-98 Silverado style cab, while the '03-09 are based on the full size van (Savanna/Express). I'd love to have in 1:25th the 'Ironhide' Topkick from the Transformers movie. -
Those Brookfield LH models are very nice...I got the LHS, Intrepid and Concorde back around '98...too bad they didn't do a Vision.

Went to a swap meet today and bought 3 built up (pretty well done) Tamiya 1:20th F1 cars--Gilles Venellueve Ferrari, Nigel Mansell Ferrari, and the Senna Camel Lotus. I have a few unbuilt 1:20th Tamiyas, slowly getting into F1 modeling, though I've followed the sport for 30+ years.

That's kind of when I guessed it was...one of the earliest w/ a real car on the box that I know of/have is the MPC '71 GTX...love that box art. The oldest w/ photos of the kit that I have are probably some Monograms from the mid '70s, like an issue of the '58 T-bird w a red buildup on the box.
 -
As far as I can tell, the roof fits on the body without removing the package shelf, so that's a moot point. As a related theme, when did kits start showing photos of the actual kit and it's parts on the box art instead of illustrations? It seems like it was sometime in the '70s, as I have kits from childhood from the late '70s that have photos and some that have illustrations..
 -
Instead of disclaimers, it's better to have accurate box art. Don't show anything on the built kit on the box art that's not included with the kit. Simple.
