Speaking of 428CJ Mustangs, there is an article in the new issue of Legendary Ford magazine with a sweet '68 428 CJ Wimbeldon White base Mustang fastback w/ funky dog dish hubcaps and steelies (never seen a Mustang with those). Pretty rare car. By the way, is the upcoming Revell '68 Mustang GT a 390 or 428? I don't have the diecast version, not familiar with it.

This past week I got 3 new releases--the Revell '64 Ford Fairlane 2n1, '68 Bullitt Mustang, '08 Mustang Bullitt. Also, some resin parts from a few casters (some hoods, wheels, Modelhaus chrome for '72 and '73 Dusters) and one old kit--an MPC '27 Lincoln 2dr convertible....I had the AMT issue of the MPC '28 Lincoln phaeton, didn't realize the 2dr version existed until I stumbled upon it cheap. I've dabbled in the classic cars for years, not my main focus though, I do like them. Not modeling related, but looking forward to Barrett-Jackson this week..probably going to go either Friday evening or next Saturday. It was great last year, will be interesting to see how it is this year.

I have to get around to building mine (stock version) eventually. I hope Fujimi eventually does the Skyline V36/Infiniti G37 coupe, preferably with LHD parts.

I have a couple of those in my stash.. never did get the Talledega version that AMT did. I've never sat down and compared this issue to the original AMT '69 Torino GT and Torino Cobra (coupe/conv) kits I have in my stash. So I wonder if the recent Modified Stocker kit was modified from this issue or a was a new body tool?

Looking sharp...love the color scheme and the wheels...that's one of my favorite eras of Porsches, and love to see a Turbo in something other than Guards Red, black or silver. I'm embarassed to admit, but I'm not sure if have this kit or not... I bought a bunch of Tamiya kits from around '96-02 that are in storage..

I'd love to see the Alfa 8C, Maserati Gran Turismo and Quattroporte tooled. Or how about some contemporary Audis, BMWs, and Mercedes...it's been a long time since anything new from any of those 3 marques (besides the R8 and R10) have been kitted... I'd love to have a 1:24th scale kit of current cars like the A5/S5, A8/S8, TT, M3, M5, M6 (or the regular 3-,5-,or 6-series), or the CLS, CLK Black Series, SL, S-class, etc...

1970 Mercury Montego from Missing Link!
Rob Hall replied to kevin's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Strange that they put a '71 on the box if the model is a '70. -
Actually, he was asking what they are 'wroth', not 'worth'. What they are wroth may be completely different than what they are worth.

1970 Mercury Montego from Missing Link!

Hmmm..does it have the Cyclone grille (hidden headlights) or the Montego grille (eggcrate w/ exposed lights)? The chrome grille and the one in the illustration (red car) don't match. -
Sharp build...I have a couple '69s in my stash, a built restorable MPC '69 ht, and an unbuilt, MIB MPC '69 convertible.

Late model ford bronco
Rob Hall replied to N~8~Ball's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I have an extra AMT (ex-MPC) '82 Bronco reissue and a '92 AMT F150, thought about kitbashing the two. Someone posted one recently on one of the forums where they took the Monogram '80 and kitbashed with an R-M '88 F250 to do that era in 1:24th (the flat front '87-91). I looked at buying a '96 Bronco about 10 years ago...had an '88 Bronco II then. Ended up keeping the Bronco II until '00 and traded it on an '00 Grand Cherokee. -
Maybe Chrysler is giving them away to press, etc at auto shows or other events.

Winter is here...and it sucks
Rob Hall replied to VW Dave's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That house looks very similar to my buddy Kirk's house in Beaverton. I was there when there was a really nasty ice storm in December a few years ago. -
The AMT curbsides look like snap kits, should be decent though simplified..but what's up w/ the tires in the pic--it looks like partial axles on the wheel backs that stick into the chassis? Haven't looked closely at that aspect of my promo, but I would assume it has metal axles..

Even dead and gray like that, it does have it's charm. What part of the country is that? I know when I lived in Michigan the grayness and dampness of winter could weigh on me, but I was young and living in Ann Arbor at the time, so I was never bored. Though I found Colorado winters much nicer, a lot more sun and dry. -
Today I got an old Testors '48 Ford coupe from ebay in the mail. Neat kit, multi piece body. I've built the Revell '48s, never one of the Testors/IMC ones.

December is nice in Oahu..was there in early December in '06 for a few days.... and it was nice when I was there for a week in April 07. Will have to back and visit the other islands. Winter is great in AZ, but summer is another story... I'm going to try and split my year in '09, contract for 6-8 months in Denver and 4-6 months in Phoenix. -
Sweet..that Hornet SC/360 and '68 Plymouth are great. I have the '65-67 Plymouth hts and convertibles, but only the '68 4drs in my collection. I'll have to get the Hornet eventually, I definitely want to get ML's '71 Galaxie 4dr and '68 Mustang GT coupe. I got a bunch of goodies in the mail and via UPS today--had a bunch of boxes on the patio this afternoon---got another Revell '69 Nova and '68 Charger, the Revell Shelby GT-H, GT500, and GT500KR. Also got a resin '69 Cuda 440 Six Pak hood and '71 Plymouth Scamp from Bandit Resins--very nice!

Great movie... I have my red stapler in my cube. Office Space and Dilbert are very much reminiscent of my work experiences over the last decade..

That's amazing... in 11 winters in Colorado, I don't think I've ever seen it that cold in December. Coldest I remember was a -19 in early February 2007 when i was living in Highlands Ranch. It's gray and rainy here in Phoenix this week, highs in the upper 50s, lows in the 40s. -

It's been a unusually cold, snowy winter so far (late fall, actually) back home in Denver..glad I'm in Phoenix currently. -
Tires for '70s MPC Duster Pro Stock kits?
Rob Hall replied to Rob Hall's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I think the Johan ones will do the trick...I checked one of my Johan '71 Cudas, and found it had two sets of the Pro Stock tires (two piece plastic rears).
