Yeah, any of those would be welcome..the B400 is such a cool bodystyle....I think Danbury or Franklin Mint did one.

Revell '69 Yenko 427 Nova is Out!
Rob Hall replied to Len Woodruff's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Ah, I forgot about that..I never thought of it as an SS, since it didn't have an SS hood. Though they now have an SS hood on the snap kit. -
Revell '69 Yenko 427 Nova is Out!
Rob Hall replied to Len Woodruff's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Well, since they previously did a '69 Yenko Camaro and not an SS Camaro, I assumed they would be consistent.. And a B-M Nova will probably follow eventually, since they've done 3 other B-Ms. -
Vettel's 3 wheel driving was a high point for me...surreal.

TiVoed the qualifying and the race.... watched qualifying last night, watching the race now...the ending is WILD...was a great race.

Revell '69 Yenko 427 Nova is Out!

Thanks..I couldn't remember how the AMT Nova was equipped. The Impala sounds like a good starting point, it's the only GM bench seat of that era in a kit I can think of right now... -

Speaking of a Nova bench seat, does the AMT '72 have a bench or buckets? I have 1/2 dozen of them, but haven't looked at one in years, and mine are in storage now. -
Revell '69 Yenko 427 Nova is Out!

Some pics I've found online of '69 Yenko Novas show the SS hood, but with the plain non-SS grille and taillight panel..those seem to be two noticeable parts Revell missed....supposedly, 10 were built, but that was 40 years ago, so who knows what is exactly 'correct'.. And a lot of the cars I've seen pics of online are clones... I like the look of this clone, has a plain hood, bench seat and a plain grille, and the DD/steelies (available in resin from the Modelhaus and others): Lot more pics of this clone here: Super Chevy article on Yenko SC Nova clone The four parts I'd like to see from Revell or the aftermarket to use w/ the '69 Nova kits are the plain hood, bench seat, plain grille, and plain taillight panel...would be useful for a lot of build styles. -
Revell '69 Yenko 427 Nova is Out!

It will be interesting to compare the engine parts to that of the Yenko Camaro kit. Can't tell much from this box art pic: -
Nice..those look similar to some wheels and tires I bought from a vendor 'RPP Hobbies' on ebay a couple years ago..want to use them on a HUMMER H2.

There are a bunch on ebay now..box art shows the 427 engine, the YSC decals on the seats, the striping and the 5-spoke wheels (like the AMT '69 Chevelle and R-M '70 BM Chevelle, Magnum 500 style). Nice that the box art is in red rather than blue like the preview photo was.. I have one on preorder from Evers Toy Store, looking forward to it. -
That's going to be cool...

Cool... I've read some of the Initial D manga and saw the movie on DVD a couple of years ago...neat subject to model.
-
It's in storage in Colorado w/ most of my model collection.. I can't remember if it has the raised molding like the kit longbeds did.. it's basically a shortened version of the kit longbed box...includes taillights and tailgate, IIRC.
-
I have no idea who cast it...I picked it up secondhand on ebay a couple years ago along with a Dodge Club Cab pickup body that I plan to use for another project.
-
I believe pettybluecamaro2 is the same guy that used to run Lookout Resin. I got the '79 Dodge truck parts from him a few years ago, I want to build a replica of the '79 my Dad had that I learned to drive in...I have the 4x4 suspension parts, some parts box MPC wheels and tires, a resin Fleetside shortbed, and the LRE to start from.. Not familiar with SoReal.

Those Art Deco cars are pretty incredible... I saw a group of Delahayes, a Talbot Lago, a custom bodied Rolls Royce and a few others at a special exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum a few years ago... in fact, that roof w/ the split rear windows reminds me of the RR, it's a car famous for it's round doors..can't recall what the model name is, but Autoblog or Autoweek had an article on it recently...

Internet shopping
Rob Hall replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've bought from HLJ since 2000 or so, never had a problem...I usually preorder the hot releases from them (the new GT-Rs, Fujimi Ferraris, etc when I first hear of them)... I would assume many of items they have listed as out of stock are older, out of production kits. Also, the big 3 (Aoshima, Fujimi, Tamiya) don't seem to have released that many new kits over the last year, compared to the previous few years. I've also bought Japanese kits from Hobby Search (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/car) and Model Express (www.modelexpress.net) with no problems. I've only heard of HW-Japan recently, apparently, they are owned by Aoshima. -
Yeah, they are out of production.. I think RC2 retired the Polar Lights brand 3-4 years ago.
-
That was 30 years ago...unless you worked for Chrysler then, how would you really know? Every 1:1 '79 Dodge truck I've seen in the past had the '80 style hood... my Dad's did.
-
That kind of looks like the color my Dad's '79 was..
-
Yeah, the '79-80 had the flat hood w/ the raised section and the ridge down the center...similar to the '81+ models, probably (since MPC didn't do the '81 and up, I don't know how similar they are..I know the taillights changed and they added creases to the fenders and a new dash). The hood with the Sebring-style indents was '72-78 only AFAIK..
-
I remember those also...the '80 had the black out on the grille, and was the first year they used the Ram name, IIRC. My Dad had a '79 Power Wagon 4x4 w/ the quad lights from '82 till '94...I learned to drive in that truck..was quite a turd, not much power, no steering feel or centering, would often stall on left turns. I would assume the quad light vs. single lights was a trim level thing, my Dad's '79 was a Power Wagon w/ the Adventurer and Prospector packages.
-
Cool.. I've thought about doing the same thing eventually...have also thought about trying to build a stock 3 window coupe (do such cars exist in 1:1?) with the Revell body and trim and AMT wheels, tires, running gear..
-
Yeah, those would be great...I'd love to see a '32 Woodie wagon from the Revell '32 and that funky convertible w/ the framed side glass (B-400 convertible sedan).
