  1. No problem there. I believe those are the stock wheels that come in the kit. I managed to get a few mist coats of the color on the parts. I see that I have a slip from the panel line engraver on the front of the passenger door. I think I'll try to fill it in with clear and sand it out as opposed to putty. The paint won't cover the color of the putty without showing. I like the way this is coming out though. Later-
  2. I thought that he had done the Gypsy Rose. Just didn't get that far in my search tonight to confirm it. Thanks for the links. Later-
  3. John, That is looking pretty sweet! I like the shade of blue and the white interior really sets it off. Great work! I built one of these a few years back but did mine in just a bit lighter Nassau Blue. Great kit! Later-
  4. So, while looking through some inspiration tonight on Google I came across a lowrider painter from the past that I was not familiar with but I am eager to see more of his work. Don't get me wrong, I know next to nothing about lowrider history but I've always loved the paint work these guys come up with. Anywho, the man's name was Walt Prey. Seeing some of his work makes me want to try things similar to his in 1/25. I'm really liking this 67 Impala and this 55 Chevy. Beautiful work!! Later-
  5. Got the body, chassis pan and interior in primer. Looks pretty good for the conditions I sprayed in. I'll give it a light wet sand and a wash tomorrow and get ready for the first mist coats of paint. Later-
  6. Looks as beautiful as I thought it would! Great job! Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. Just sprayed the second coat of primer and it is drying a bit in 35 degree weather with a lamp for a small bit of heat. Can't wait to get moved and get an actual spray area set up. Later-
  7. Levacar. Never seen one in the flesh though. Later-
  8. Thanks guys for the support! Looking at Central City or somewhere near that area. I always thought that the 67 made an excellent lowrider candidate. I may have to cut the tops off. Haven't done much for the chassis work yet. Got the first coat of primer on parts last night in my 34 degree garage! and then straight into the humidifier for about 4 hours. Didnt look too bad coming out of the dehydrator. Did some wet sanding of the primer on the body and hood just now with 3200 grit. Going to shoot a second coat of primer tomorrow and another stint in the dehydrator. Then we will see how it looks. Thinking the interior will be a white with just a tint of rose color. Later-
  9. Well, that's great! Then it won't cost so much for you to ship me all of those great older builds and kits... Lol. Yeah, that's the problem with the late 60's to 70 Impalas. Huge wheel wells. I've got some large diameter wire wheels but they are definitely not period correct. Later-
  10. Thanks Luke. Not sure what they are as I found them in a tub of wheels from my buddy's stash I inherited. I'd say that they are Pegasus, considering the back of the wheel looks a lot like how Pegasus wheels are designed. I'll probably level it out. Thanks Tuffy. Thanks David. I agree! Thanks Zippi. I'll have to look up the Kindig-It door handles. That sounds like something I have in mind for another project. However, this one is going for an Old School look. I want to keep this one simple. Something to work on when the house is empty. My biggest problem is going to be spraying the paint. It has been between 2-38 degrees here with about 8 inches of snow. Later-
  11. Here are the tires and wheels. It would be nice to get the stance this low or a touch higher. Got all of the filler work done and sanded tonight on the C pillar mold lines, the sink mark on the rear fender and where I shaved the door handles. Later-
  12. Last night I got all of my parts together. I got the minimal flash removed from the body and scribed all of the panel lines. I found one sink mark at the rear of the driver's side fender. The previous owner had started the chassis work and I'll have to see what work needs to be re-done or completed. Later-
  13. So, I am in the process of packing everything for a move from Washington State to Kentucky and I have almost all of my WIP's packed up. Since I will have some time sitting in an empty house at both ends I have decided to pick a new "simple" project to work on. Earlier this week I got a couple of 67 Impala parts kits (Missing wheels/tires and engines) and a new can of Tamiya Pearl Light Red from a local buddy. I thought a quick build of a 67 Impala would be just the ticket. As I was prowling the "innertube" looking for ideas, I came across this example that, including the color, was perfect! I dug through my tire/wheel stash and came across a set of narrow white wall lowrider tires and Cragars. I smell a project coming on. The plan is to keep this one simple, perhaps even curbside. Later-
  14. Thanks. Got it for $15. So, quick question. Is this a promo or an annual? I assume it is a promo since it has the vehicle specs on the chassis. Would have been something a dealership gave out- correct? I can never remember which is which but this makes the most sense to me. Later-
  15. Picked up a few things today. From HL I got two cans of Testors Extreme Lacquer in a color that I've never seen or heard of before-Tropical Turquoise. From a local friend I picked up a rebuilder MPC 73 Challenger, some 67 Impala parts, a can of Tamiya Pearl Light Red and a promo body, interior and chassis of a 62 Galaxie 500. Later-
  16. Went through the garage and reorganized/ packed kits and magazines to prepare for my move from WA to KY next week. Shipping container should be here on the 11th! Panic, and the realization that I have WAY too much stuff, is starting to set in!! Later-
  17. Got a bit of filling and shaping done on my 41 Ford COE car hauler. Filled in between the Cab and the fender with some styrene on both sides and got the rough shape finished on the passenger side. Later-
  18. Thank you guys! Moving from WA to KY and plan to enjoy working with my wife at home. Later-
  19. I'm retiring next Monday. I was cleaning out my locker at work and found these! SCORE!! Later-
  20. Did about 30 min of work last night on my car hauler. Cut 37 Chevy rear fenders up to mold into the fronts. (Thanks Casey!!) I think I may need to remove the front of the running boards and lower the rear of the fenders. Later-
  21. I talked with the guy and he doesn't have a site. He just does it as a hobby for himself (I persuaded him to make them for me too.) Later-
  22. Got these in the mail today. In a trade with Bismark I got the Willys and from a FB site I got the wheels and tires. Plan is to put the tires and wheels on a custom Aluma Coupe or 33 Ford. Later-
  23. Got this in the mail yesterday. Sealed inside. Other than the tear in the box top its in excellent shape. Later-
  24. Will do. Later-
  25. Thanks guys for the input. I'll give a few of these a try (scribing, dremel, and hack saw). Although I do have one of the old school large classroom paper cutters, I think my wife might be upset at me for that. I have a few different sheets of this so trying a few things is possible. Later-
