  1. So, I am in the process of packing everything for a move from Washington State to Kentucky and I have almost all of my WIP's packed up. Since I will have some time sitting in an empty house at both ends I have decided to pick a new "simple" project to work on. Earlier this week I got a couple of 67 Impala parts kits (Missing wheels/tires and engines) and a new can of Tamiya Pearl Light Red from a local buddy. I thought a quick build of a 67 Impala would be just the ticket. As I was prowling the "innertube" looking for ideas, I came across this example that, including the color, was perfect! I dug through my tire/wheel stash and came across a set of narrow white wall lowrider tires and Cragars. I smell a project coming on. The plan is to keep this one simple, perhaps even curbside. 2. Thanks. Got it for $15. So, quick question. Is this a promo or an annual? I assume it is a promo since it has the vehicle specs on the chassis. Would have been something a dealership gave out- correct? I can never remember which is which but this makes the most sense to me. Later-
  3. Picked up a few things today. From HL I got two cans of Testors Extreme Lacquer in a color that I've never seen or heard of before-Tropical Turquoise. From a local friend I picked up a rebuilder MPC 73 Challenger, some 67 Impala parts, a can of Tamiya Pearl Light Red and a promo body, interior and chassis of a 62 Galaxie 500. Later-
  4. Went through the garage and reorganized/ packed kits and magazines to prepare for my move from WA to KY next week. Shipping container should be here on the 11th! Panic, and the realization that I have WAY too much stuff, is starting to set in!! Later-
  5. Got a bit of filling and shaping done on my 41 Ford COE car hauler. Filled in between the Cab and the fender with some styrene on both sides and got the rough shape finished on the passenger side. Later-
  6. Thank you guys! Moving from WA to KY and plan to enjoy working with my wife at home. Later-
  7. I'm retiring next Monday. I was cleaning out my locker at work and found these! SCORE!! Later-
  8. Did about 30 min of work last night on my car hauler. Cut 37 Chevy rear fenders up to mold into the fronts. (Thanks Casey!!) I think I may need to remove the front of the running boards and lower the rear of the fenders. Later-
  9. I talked with the guy and he doesn't have a site. He just does it as a hobby for himself (I persuaded him to make them for me too.) Later-
  10. Got these in the mail today. In a trade with Bismark I got the Willys and from a FB site I got the wheels and tires. Plan is to put the tires and wheels on a custom Aluma Coupe or 33 Ford. Later-
  11. Got this in the mail yesterday. Sealed inside. Other than the tear in the box top its in excellent shape. Later-
  12. Will do. Later-
  13. Thanks guys for the input. I'll give a few of these a try (scribing, dremel, and hack saw). Although I do have one of the old school large classroom paper cutters, I think my wife might be upset at me for that. I have a few different sheets of this so trying a few things is possible. Later-
  14. I have this brass plate that has an interesting pattern. I want to use it for the ramps and bed of my car hauler but I don't k ow the best or easiest way to cut it. It is about 1/32 inch thick so I won't be able to cut it with most of the hand tools I have. Any ideas? What do you use to cut stuff this thick? Later-
  15. Thanks for the info. I've seen some 3D printed frames. I'll have to.look at getting one or two. Later-
  16. Beautiful.work and details! I love the color too. I may have missed it but did you modify the frame or is it a resin? If you modified it, which kit was the frame from? Great work! Later-
  17. Oh, I love a nicely styled 36 and this one looks like it is going to be a stunner! Nice work on lowering the front sheet metal. I'll have to remember that when I get back on mine. Later-
  18. Sweet looking set up. Nice combo of parts. Should turn out great! Later-
  19. Beautiful build! Love the shot of the chassis too. Going to have to get me one or two of these. Later-
  20. Got these 68 Chargers yesterday from a guy who wants me to build him one of them. Good thing that there are parts for two complete cars. Also got the resin 69 Dart parts to build a drag version. Hood w/ scoop, dash with radio/heater delete, door panels without window rollers and rear arm rests, 3 sets of drag seats (2 sets with risers), and three oil pans. All for $10. And some decals for $5.
  21. Sat around on Zoom tonight with SamIAm and worked on this ramp truck. I extended the bed and cut the sides down. Also added the rear fenders to the bed sides. Lots more to do. Later-
  22. Picked these up yesterday from a guy at work. The Beemer is sealed. The other two are sealed inside. Later-
  23. Did some repairs on my buddy's Willy's pickup for his widow. I made hinges for the hood and reattached the door hinge. Time to give it back to her tomorrow. Later-
  24. Thanks! I'll have to check that out. Later-
