  1. Thank you all for your kind comments on my build. I'm eager to start another one. Later-
  2. I'm liking this build and your process along the way. Glad I tuned in. Later-
  3. For your hood fit dilema, have you thought about using scotch tape for a hinge? For as seldom that you would open and close it, that may work just fine. The reason I mention this is that I recently got an old built up car that the person had done this to and it looks like the tape has held up for a good thirty plus years. Later-
  4. .....Backs slowly out of the room, not making eye contact. Later-
  5. Great idea Pat! I think it would be good to do a replica of the boat from your first picture. That has an interesting style to it. Later-
  6. Nice looking build. Gives me ideas for the Blazer and the Ford pickup rebuilders I have. I'll have to see how the Pro Street Tbird chassis and suspension work under them. Later-
  7. Very nice job on this one Jim. That paint looks to be a perfect match for Testors One Shot Root Beer. Later-
  8. That is a beautiful build Chuck! The sheen of that black is PERFECT! All business! Great work. Later-
  9. So, this morning I was curios about how much change I had really made in the body with my modifications. I dug out another body (the previous owner had filled in the wood) to take comparison shots. There is a marked difference so far. Later-
  10. Thanks Sam. For a build that I had no plan to do, I think it's coming along. Just started throwing it together on a whim to see what it would look like. Mary said last night that she liked the purple so I may have to figure out what paint that is and go with that color. Later-
  11. Thanks for all of your kind words Fellas. I made a bit of progress tonight. Got the firewall sectioned and installed and filled some small areas to clean things up a bit. While throwing a bit of putty I added a small strip of styrene along the edges of the hood starting from the grill and extending to the cowlso that the hood would meet the top of the body chrome. At the same time the styrene strip was used as a ledge for super glue and putty so that when sanded out would widen the hood a bit. The body chrome will eventually extend from the cowl to the grill with a piece provided in the Vantastic kit. Next session should consist of shaping the hood and making hood sides. Thanks for looking in. Later-
  12. Thanks for the info. I'll have to either keep an eye out for a set on ebay or just make my own. As always, if anyone has a set or the Modelhaus Litton 49 Ford for trade, hit me up, please. Later-
  13. Does anybody know of a kit source or aftermarket supplier for this tail light? If not, I suppose that I can scratchbuild a set. I want to put a set on a build I have in mind. Thanks for any info. Later-
  14. Dan, I just read through this post. What a cool looking little build. I have done similar body work filling the wheel wells and the roof hole on one of these Bantam bodies to build a modern version of this. However, after looking at your build I'm definitely going to have to do one 60's style. Too Cool!! Thanks for the inspiration! Later-
  15. On last pic for the night. Later-
  16. Spent a bit of time on this one today. Got a Vantastic and Coupster kits in trade today with fordf-100 (Phil). The Wagonrod body is much taller than the Vantastic so I had to do some slicing of the body and cowl to get the hood to not look like it was sitting vertical. I didn't want to ruin the woodwork on the body sides so I stopped short of the character line when sectioning. The second pic shows that the hood still had too much angle, requiring another section of the body and cowl. The hood looks much better now. Now for the clean-up. Later-
  17. I live about 30 miles north of Spokane in the wooded areas. We are at about 2900 ft elevation and get enough snow and cold temps for an extended period. We have had Temps already below freezing for a few days in a row but currently it is in the high 40's to low 50's with a lot of rain recently. It is not uncommon for us to have a month or more with sustained temps below freezing. Later-
  18. Well, with my habit of procrastination it will probably never happen anyway... Lol. Later-
  19. I had thought about a low wattage bulb to keep it a bit warmer. Still a plan in the making. The big thing is I got most of my paints in one area and out of my way. Later-
  20. Ok. So "Brilliant" is in quotes because, I rarely have a brilliant idea so I wouldn't recognize one if it bit me. Anywho, I needed a place to store my paints so they wouldn't freeze during the winter and here is what I came up with. An old refrigerator. No need for it to even work. The price was right on this one (free) and after cleaning and sanitizing it I figured out why! I finally got a chance today to make some plywood shelves for it. I know that nothing is organized but at this point it is more of a race against "Old Man Winter". I'll have lots of time to organize later. Now to make more shelves or get another fridge since I still have a ton of paint left to store. Later-
  21. Sam, That turned out great! It gives me hope for the blue 29 (if I remember it correctly) I have from the same OB. Now if I can just find all of the parts. Like I said, makes me regret trading it to you!! Lol. Great job. Later-
  22. Thanks Fellas! Just had to work on something for a bit last night and this is what came up. Now to find the grill and hood for the Testors Vantastic. Anybody got some.... Later-
  23. I got some body and fender units off of FB Marketplace a few days ago. One of them was this Testors Vantastic fender unit. I thought that it may go well with the body from a WagonRod for a custom chopped 37 Ford Woody Sedan Delivery. I thought that for a bit more of a custom.look I would go with the smooth curved running boards from the Vantastic.I With a bit of swapping of the front clip and running boards all that is really left of the slicing is to fabricate the hood sides. Unfortunately, I am missing everything else from the Vantastic kit. Anybody have one to trade? Later-
  24. Thanks! Unfortunately I know nothing about the origins of these parts. They all came from various parts boxes I got from my buddy's stash after he passed. He had cut this body up pretty badly and I am just trying to repair all the damage to get it to look like something presentable. Later-
  25. Got some adjustments done to the stance on this project. Had to cut the frame to raise the front a bit. Found the pieces in the parts box for the motor. Later-
