I was homeless for a short period. I collected scrap metal and cans with a coaster wagon. I bought a $50 Chevette. Ran pretty good but was rusty. Driving on an especially bad road with potholes the size of large dogs, one of my shock absorber/strut on the front end broke loose from the tower pushing it through the sheet metal. Some old muffler strap criss crossed on top of the tower , then lining up the strap holes to hold the shock and drilling holes in surrounding sheet metal and screwing them down with sheet metal screws got me through the cold winter until I had a normal job where I could afford a better car... another $50 dollar crapwagon, but wasn't rusty like the Chevette.

Neat model build. It always puzzled me on how to depict the tail lights as they are usually hidden behind some chrome ribs

I'd be interested in the kit to convert a Nova

For all us cheesehead model builders, Ollies will be opening stores in Wisconsin. They bought some of the Big Lots stores and are opening. Fond Du Lac, Pleasant Prairie and West Bend will have the Ollies Stores.

Very cool. I love six cylinder cars and the fact it's a four door is awesome. An everyday family car. Not everyone owned an SS two door like the model factories would have you believe.

Really good looking for how old the tooling is.

I'm still happy I have the ability to build an Australian car of any kind. I had a resin Torana but it was real off. I had a Mad Max Falcon from Aoshima but no way to build stock.

It works for me.

1965 Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe Coupe
lordairgtar replied to Mike Slapattack's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I would like any Beaumont bits you do. Message me or post here when they are available. I'm converting a Dodge 700 truck to a Fargo. -
Oh yeah. that chassis needs to be binned. I am in possession of the Kingswood kit. Want to get a Torana but funds are limited because the ride is expensive to the USA. Use Revel Chrom Paint. Pretty good stuff. You would think that with the diecast versions having chrome, the kits would as well for the price they are.

What's with the U.S.Post office these days?
lordairgtar replied to styromaniac's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I'm a long time user of the USPS. Never had a single problem with receiving parcels. mine are delivered directly to my home. If it doesn't fit my mail box, it's delivered to my door. -
Maybe cut the womp womp chassis to width. Or maybe find a vintage Champion of Chamblee flex chassis. I recall it being quite small. Worked similar to the 1/24th scale chassis they made and it was chrome plated as well.

I would so use that at a car show or even some vintage camping.

Sweet Mother of Pearl. That looks great.

I have a thing for Aussie cars. I have the Kingswood kit that I will build soon. Yours is real sharp.

Your paint work is getting better. Neat car

Nice detail painting.

I have thought of updating my Renwal Bugatti like this. I want to use the engine from a Viper kit and a Corvette chassis
-
Nice work. Now I want to take mine apart and create an engine following your method

That is some pretty wild stuff. Love the Katana style shifter, the drink trays with appropriate liquor bottles. Every time I study the pics I see more details. Good job on the lighting details too. Seems I remember this type of car style being from Japan with the classy interior and all. Can't think what they called that. Oh yeah...VIP.

No, I have trouble with posting my own pics to the forum.

In Mexico you could get the V8 302. Also came with two batteries under the hood.
