  1. I have an Opel Admiral kit from ICM and a resin commercial Ford truck cab from a small maker. Both great quality. Hope our Ukrainian friends are going to survive this. Huge Ukrainian community in my home town of Milwaukee. Ukrainian churches, Red Cross are excepting donations to help the cause with medical and food supply and other things they may need. One of our members of the forum (Tor Henning) was in Ukraine traveling with his girl friend visiting her family when all this broke out. They made it out crossing into Poland...they are safe.
  2. Great work as usual.
  3. Just another version of a chrome finish marker. I don't think theses are as shiny as Molotow (close) but they are a bit more durable. After 15 minutes, I could touch the surface without dulling it.
  4. Nice to see an early build of yours.
  5. I can just imagine a new inmate is in the cell and the old convict ask what's he's in for. "I'm here for embezzling funds from my job. What are you in for?" "I used a USPS box to ship FedEx"
  6. That axle also had disc brakes installed. Many went into other Ford cars and hot rods.
  7. Something in the door line is off on the model. It does have that dogleg line but the real car is not as severe as the one on the kit. Windows could be enlarged at the bottom too.
  8. I ordered mine. They will be here today but be forwarned, shipping cost is a bear. About 38 bux.
  9. White latex paint (house paint) will do a great job making your whitewalls.
  10. Just some beautiful work there. It's not easy changing a car to another year. Plus adding the car's individual custom touches that make it unique to your friend's car....WOW.
  11. Since the chrome tail lamp trim already has the lens engraved into the plastic, I would just dab clear read onto the chrome piece and save the red clear plastic lamps for something else
  12. Searched all over the internet for the source of those bikes. Closest Mitsuwa to me is in Chicago, about 150 miles.
  13. They don't look bad. The have a rubbery feel like larger scale kits. Not made of hard plastic.
  14. The Jim Wangers Chevrolet van was during the period when Jim had a Chevy dealership in the city of Milwaukee. Lasted only a few years but he sold those Vega vans with special markings on them.
  15. Just acquired this one. Not a bad kit for 1/32. Only choice for decal color is the blue stripe so can only do the white car. You'd have to print out your own white decals to do a blue car. Pic from the web. Totally happy to finally see my forum access working again. Don't know how it happened but I could not use it for about a month. Could not post or answer a question or comment, and the pics were only accessible by clicking on the links in the post. Now I can see them. Quote

  17. So shocked. My condolences. When I read the thread to find out more about that car and the modeller (so few ladies on the forum), then I come to your post and it hit hard. I'm tearing up over this as I have lost a few female friends this past year who were into plastic or car people in general. May Lisa rest in peace and I sincerely hope you finish that model and we get to see it.
  18. There's a name I hadn't heard in a long time. I lived not too far from Herscher. I lived in Kankakee and Campus (a very small town...200 people), also a short time in Bourbonnais. Sorry to hear about your SIL.
  19. Ahh, the infamous military green Turbine. Slap a star on the door and call it done.
  20. I guess I should be thankful for where I live in the cold frozen tundra of Wisconsin. I live in a small 1200 population town (Theresa) and five miles away is a small hobby and rock collector shop who carries a bit of Revell and Tamiya stuff. Called Tinker's , it's in Mayville. Then about 30 miles away is John's in Hartford. 17 miles away is Focus in Fond Du Lac...he has model cars and other things. Then 45 miles away is West Allis/Milwaukee area that is home to Model Empire. There was a drug store in Muskego that had model but he wanted to clear the space for other stuff so I bought his entire inventory of kits. Al that is left there is some paints and glue. Atrip to the doctor in Milwaukee always means a trip to Model Empire....lucky me.
  21. Don't believe this was originally an Ertl kit. I believe it to be AMT. Ertl usually did International Harvester trucks before becoming part of AMT.
  22. Our little model club had the annual auction of kits to pay for our Christmas Bacchanalia. The kits that came home with me were an eclectic collection if there ever was one. I got four 1/32 scale Airfix kits...the Jaguar E Type, an MG roadster, an Aston Martin DB5 and the Triumph TR4A. Also got the ICM Renault Taxi Type AG 1910. A Minicraft 1948 MG TC Midget. And a Fujimi Porsche 356B/C Hardtop. These are all over the place in price on ebay. I got mine cheap, Still sealed I love these oddballs...MG Another fave car
  23. I got mine last week and I like it. Really intrigued with the upgrading of the Renwal kit. I'm doing a similar project with the Renwall 66 Bugatti. Still looking for that Jordan....LOL
