  1. Sweet Mother of Styrene, that sure was a glue bomb for real. There are a lot of similar chassis out there that are similar and the Jag rear end can be sourced from a lot of places like the Buttera rods from Revell. That's going to be a lot of cleaning on the body work. Maybe duplicate the shapes with sheet styrene?
  2. They normally do not shrink wrap kits in Japan or Europe. Just a little round tape at the sides like was done in the USA pre 1965.

No, especially when the engines in those kits are rather clunky and toy like in comparison...unless of course the builder changes the paint, creates a sub model of that body style (a big block version from the small block version or maybe a Canadian Beaumont from a Chevelle) and makes the engine actually look like an engine
  5. Something I brung up as a guy tries to bring in his T bucket hotrod made from all after market parts he built in his garage in 1/1 scale in a Model Behavior cartoon I did for Car Modeler Magazine years back.

  7. DDA Collectibles have announced some very cool 1:24 plastic model kits due in the 4th quarter of 2022. The first kits will be variants of the Holden HQ sedan, the Kingswood, a GTS and a Custom HQ. These will include body, interior parts, engine and trim. RRP of $69.95.

  9. These are impressive and seem nice on the outside. I just can't get past the toy like engine bits. I'd have to 3D print the engine parts to get a real appearance, and at these prices I should not have to.

  12. These were the same arguments that horse breeders, carriage and wagon makers and leather tanners (buggy whips and tops), horse feed producers and horse boarding/black smiths used when automobiles came on the scene. Only hardware and dry goods stores sold fuel of any kind then.

  14. Many years ago I drove the length of the West Camino Cielo which starts at Santa Barbara and goes near the old Reagan Ranch near Refugio Canyon and exits in the San Ynez valley. Not that I am suggesting you buy one, but I did this in a 1973 AMC Matador four door sedan. A damned near bullet proof car. Very rocky road and some points are very steep. Only damage I did to the poor sedan was a hole in the gas tank which I plugged with a bit of chewing gum. It was a former SBPD detective car with a 401 V8. LOL

  17. They go from about $33 to close to $40 depending on the kit. Canadian $ is a bit more. Be aware that some of the kits are re branded Monogram NASCAR models from the 80s. The 70s era cars like the Oldsmobiles are Salvino's own tooling. The new 2022 NASCAR is Salvino's own tooling. All are nicely detailed.

  20. Interesting custom job. I would have kept it all GM instead of the Audi engine. LS all the way.
  21. Nice car. I have that 190 SL kit. Opened the box and the passenger side body panel was not in there. Are you willing to part with the panel?
