  1. I remeember back in the early 70s, Cotati, California had these little Mazdas.
  2. One thing I recall in those days, CHP car had white steering wheels
  3. Mele Kalikimaka me ka Hau'oli Makahiki Hou! May you find much makana under your tree. Aloha and Malu.
  4. All they need is a donut shop for you to hang out at.
  5. According to some political forums I go on the Canadians all claim they have no crime. Only thing you need a gun for is the occasional moose. The US has crime because we own guns.
  6. How about the 1966 AMT Thunderbird. The modesty panel below the front bumper is too long on the sides and needs a quarter inch cut off each side. A minor thing but imagine the frustration of someone not at all experienced with this kind of repairing. My grandfather bought me my model when I was a kid and he brought home the usual AMT annuals but sometimes brought home the IMC Fords and the GT40 and those types of things and the Renwall Revivals. So having much experience with those cars (the 48 Fords) I really liked the way they went together. The Revell 56 Chevy with all the separate chrome trim bits was the one that ticked me off.
  7. So it's a comedy from what i saw. Awful, just awful.
  8. I'm using the Mica red paint and I can't find the white primer anywhere. Guy at the LHS says Tamiya is reformulating again due to some panty waist in California saying the paint causes cancer. He says there won't be any until next year. He recommended Floquil's white primer. I am going to test a piece first to see if these two are compatible.
  9. I've seen kids and adults texting and driving, eating cereal out of a bowl, reading a paper or book...all while driving. In fact, Wisconsin just passed a law making texting illegal in moving vehicles. Yet a girl had an accident while texting the very next day in these parts.
  10. I liked listening to the Beatles, and realize that Lennon was a great artist. However, I think the better anniversary to remember is the one from December 7th. http://www.ccdemo.info/PearlHarbor/PearlHarborDayRemembered.html These were the real heroes, not some supposed working class hero.
  11. I got this about three months ago to haul my model cars in. Almost the same color as that Porsche a few posts back, AND it's a two seater like a Vette. LOL. I also got a 1/20th scale S10 and a Chrysler 300 kit and a T bucket kit for the missus.
  12. I don't think most of the posters were intentionally driving dangerous wrecks. It is what they could afford at the time. I drive a new 2010 truck now, but back in the day, my first cars were suspect! 64 Buick LeSabre 4 dr sedan...50 dollar car, no floor boards and lost the seat attachments over the Marquette Hi Rise in Milwaukee. Cop said I showered sparks like the 4th of July. 64 Buick LeSabre 4 dr hard top...another 50 dollar car, broken motor mount, and I drove it all the way from Wisconsin to California. 66 Ford LTD 4 dr hard top...bad brakes, so rusted that when my sister's husband helped me push the car out of the way with his truck, the whole body broke off from the frame. 78 AMC Concord 2 dr coupe...The Widow maker...the only car I was actually afraid to drive. Anything over 30 mph would cause it to go sideways on wet pavement. Forget about winter conditions. Body shop could not find any trouble with the unit body, no bent pieces, no loose or mis-aligned suspension, but it just would not drive nice...haunted maybe? Should I call Art Bell? It's nice to have safe cars and today, kids have almost new vehicles to drive cuz mom and dad buy a safe car for them...but where is the memories from a Corolla or mini-van.
  13. Have her contact Jimmy Flinstone or Don Holthaus for casting when she's ready to do that. Nice guys.
  14. All ya gotta do is ask. 99.99999% of the people here are willing to help with any trouble you might have, model wise.
  15. That would be $40 in Aussie money. Considerably cheaper in the USA
  16. Because radio delete deletes radio, not antenna?
  17. Would it be easy to build a 55 into a 56 Chrysler. A friend of mine owns this one. http://www.amcarguide.com/custom/custom-1956-chrysler-300b/
  18. You could use Monogram's Miller Mustang or Folgers Mustang for engine detail and chassis. They were very similar cars underneath.
  19. Proof positive that you do not need a 300 piece kit to make a nice model. Very well done. Now I want to take the kit I have and build it along with the Chaparral from Monogram.
  20. 150? Yer whole life? That musta been a record breaking birth! BTW, from 476, I'm down to 391!!
  21. It is! Looking for a fall release date.
  22. I love this kit. My Aero is in mid build and I used styrene strips to replicate the trim. Frame is painted and detailed engine installed. Haven't decided what color it will be. I saw these at our LHSs (both) and are priced under thirty. I'm thinking about buying the sedan delivery too. As I said in a different thread, a new version of this car will be out in the fall as a five window coupe. I got that from a very reliable source while at a Buick car show/Lionel train exhibit Sunday.
  23. I have it from a reliable source that Galaxy will do a 1946 Chevrolet five window coupe. Although the box will say 1946, you will be able to do the 46, 47 or 48 years.
  24. I had a CB back when you had to get an actual license, which was free from the FCC. You had to give your call sign every so often (KBBA 3477). My handle was Milwaukee Kid when I lived in California (I'm from Milwaukee) When I moved back to Wisconsin, I became California Kid.
