  1. I think it all depends on the vehicle and build style. I do love me some 15" wheels and some meaty tires on a muscle car, or the same size wheels and some 44's on a truck. However, 16-18" wheels do look good on many vehicles including the aformentioned vehicles. I'm not a fan of wheels larger than 20", except on a select few vehicles. The one downside about how tall vehicles are getting today is that larger wheels are needed to help make the vehicle not look like it's on stilts. Even 17" wheels look small on some vehicles nowadays.
  2. All versions of this kit, with the exception of the 454SS, come with a manual transmission. The F-150 kit of this era however does only come with an automatic.
  3. The beadlock ring holds the tire to the rim with a series of bolts and keeps the tire from coming off the wheel when you lower your air pressure for off-roading.
  4. After comparing my instructions for both kits along with the sprues from a review of the Syclone kit, it does appear that unless they throw the stock parts into the kits they sell to the public, then you are probably right about it just being the Syclone kit with the S10 body parts. Sucks that none of the lowrider or custom parts will probably be found, nor any of the GMC parts.
  5. I wouldn't totally write off this kit just yet until we know what parts come in the kit. The stock S10 kit had some of the Syclone parts, so it's possible they kept the stock S10 parts.
  6. It had a few of the intake and differential parts, but not everything. From what the box says, it sounds like it has the entire Syclone engine and drivetrain setup, but with the S10 exterior parts. I'm curious if it has any additional body parts. The nice thing is now you can actually make a 4WD version of the S10 and the wheels will be correct for this.
  7. It sounds like both of the lead actors (Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki) will each get one of the cars as a gift from Warner Brothers.
  8. It will be amazing if this is true, I really want to see this era of GM trucks with the same detail level as their recent Ford kits.
  9. They appear to be the ones that come with the basic Fireball Modelworks F250 conversion kit.
  10. I suppose there has been no more word on this kit that I could see?
  11. I was going off the vehicle information guide from GM, page 21 for the 1500 and 22 for the 2500.
  12. Was it in California? Looks like back then their emissions requirements only allowed a manual on the V6 and auto only on the v8s for the 1500s. Otherwise, you could get a manual on every size of engine they offered.
  13. Ditto. I'm guessing that the long bed kit was modified into the shortbed and stepside kits since it doesn't make any more appearances after 1989, though it wouldn't be tough to combine the USA-1 and shortbed kits if you wanted to make a stock long bed.
  14. See I wondered that too, but looking at Scalemates, the monster truck came out in the late 80s and the shortbox and stepside versions after that.
  15. They sure are trying to get their money's worth with these two kits! It bums me out that they keep bringing out the monster truck version of the C1500, but somehow can't bring out the stock trucks.
  16. Didn't they just bring out the 1977 Ford Van and Chevy Monster truck (as the Cruising Van/Coca-Cola Van and Coca-Cola truck, respectively) recently?
  17. Amazing! You've grown 20 feet tall and picked up a real truck! ?
  18. In scale, I would think you could make it look pretty close to the Iron Duke. You could also use the S10 kit transmission since they used the same automatic for the I4 and V6 engines.
  19. Nope, both the Monogram and Revell S10 kits are 1:25 (same kits actually).
  20. I don't think they are the same car unless someone decided to paint their pewter car green. Were those full covers or did they just cover the center like the plain hub caps did?
  21. Very nice! I was hoping Meng would make a kit like this, but it seems like they've given up on their civilian vehicles already. Looks like the price is around $150 US.
  22. We have a topic here about it. ?
  23. Looking on Scalemates, there has not been one newly tooled in a very long time, so it will be a welcome kit. Edit: in terms of Mustangs, I think a 6th Gen would have been the better option to focus on, but that's just my opinion.
  24. Beat me to posting by a minute! ? I'm interested in this depending on the amount of detail they put in.
