The Official EBay Discussion Thread
Jordan White replied to iamsuperdan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Somehow this made it to me completely intact and without losing the label! Not exactly sure why they decided to ship this way. -
You would have to cut off the roof and either scratchbuild the half top or see if someone makes a resin one. However, if you are thinking about the Scout Terra than you would need to lengthen the wheelbase as well.

Even though it's a very basic kit, it is nice to see the hardtop version return again.

The new “reaction button” makes no sense
Jordan White replied to Venom's topic in How To Use This Board
If you want to get technical, the "likes" are the easier option since it's one click versus clicking in the box, typing your text, then clicking Submit. The nice thing is if you don't care for the system, you don't have to use it and you can ignore the notifications for it. You can still reply to a post with text, just as you did before, nothing has changed in that regard. I do agree that so far, this system is strange in that it gives options for responses, but yet only shows a number next to the heart icon especially when the notifications only show that someone reacted to your post. -
"Holy Grail" Models?
Jordan White replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's a great kit and I wish they would re-issue it, but alas the molds are most likely permanently in monster truck mode and won't be reverted back at all. I was lucky to find the weird "camper" High Sierra version of the kit at a hobby shop for $75, as well as find the stock grille and rollbar. I guess I would have considered this one of my "holy grail" kits before I found my kit since I love this generation of C/K, and being in 1/16 scale means I can have even more fun with the detailing. -
1:12 1969 Camaro Z/28 as seen in the August '69 issue of Car Life.

On the other hand, the Goodyear radials are some great tires! It’s just too bad they only made them 14” and not 15”! -
To be fair, how many people who would use the like button aren't actually writing responses now anyways? I'm not sure if people who do not have an account here count towards the view count for a topic, but it does show that there are already people who view but don't leave a comment. Now I know that (a general) you would think that would mean even less comments, but I think that if someone is now taking the effort to leave a comment, they aren't just going to suddenly stop commenting because there is now a like button. I also think the like button is great to agree with someone's post rather than just leaving a comment that simply says "I agree!" without further context. I will say that on another forum I'm on that has the "like" system, I will like a post and still comment on said post. They don't have to necessarily be either/or.
-
In any case, I think that a "like" feature would be beneficial in threads where voting on builds are involved. You wouldn't need to fiddle with making polls here or on a third party site, and rather you could just count the likes (unless you are one who really adores viewing graphs!)

'68-72 Chevy PickUp rummors about reissue?
Jordan White replied to Sergey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
So Moebius, a relatively small model manufacturer, makes a full lineup of Ford trucks from the 60's and early 70's, and they are quite popular. Yet someone like Revell couldn't come along and do the same thing with the 67-72 GM trucks and not expect enough sales to justify it? -
They re-released that kit several years back as an Ed Roth themed kit. I got one to build as a gift for my dad to replicate his build of the original issue of this kit. Let me tell you that the opening parts are not great, and it had flash for days.

Moebius ProStar - Test Shots
Jordan White replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I know that 252" is the top end of the wheelbase for that configuration, but I know some people were saying that the kit seemed short which is why I was wondering what the kit itself scales out to. -
Moebius ProStar - Test Shots
Jordan White replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Bit of a bump, but I just picked up this kit recently and I have been looking at how other people have built it up. I see that some have lengthened the frame, and I know that the real truck had a range of wheelbases for this cab/drive configuration. Does anyone know what the original kit wheelbase is (approximately) supposed to be? -
My Moebius Pickup Kit Summary, all 11 of them!
Jordan White replied to hct728(Bob)'s topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
To be fair, I think Joseph's (Fireball) conversion surpasses anything that would come from Moebius if they decided to make a 250/350 version of the kit. -
For those that have built this, how well does it go together?

Revell’s full detail Peterbilt 359 kit. I’m guessing this is a repop of an older kit based on what I see at Scalemates?

Big Bad Van
Jordan White replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I mean the 1/25 kit isn't too far off, it only has the rear doors open and doesn't have the engine detailing parts, but it does also have a fairly detailed interior, and full chassis and engine. Being 1/16 scale certainly does help this one though and it would be cool to see it released again. -
Big Bad Van
Jordan White replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know I've seen this kit on ebay before. Does anyone know if it's just an enlarged version of their 1/25 custom van kit? It certainly resembles it in some ways. -
Never, since it would need to come with Pepsi Free decals! ?
