  2. and it would look the same!
  3. Nicely done.
  4. The point would be your Kenworth would roll over befoer catching this darty little bugger!
  5. Welcome and you sure have a good hand with that paint brush!
  6. That looks a lot like a mushroom ...
  7. Well, I'm taking the day off for sure!
  8. You'll be a wonderful ambassador for the hobby. Of course, we'll get the best part watching this go together!
  9. Plastruct makes Hex rod. I don't believe Evergreen does. I'm wondering what the actual size those hex beads Daf57 mentions are. Maybe a trip to Michael's is in order.
  10. This seems to be intended as an informative post. As such, a link to the site you referred to would be most informative!
  11. You're definitely not taking the easy way out as you get back to building this ... !! It's pure pleasure watching.
  12. I love the seat .. looks like it might even give a massage!
  13. Not much sectioning going on but got a new workbench in Saturday! This replaced an old table doing duty for years. A new wall surround also will let me get things organized so I'll never misplace anything (yeah, right)! The bench is twice as long and a bit less deep than the table . so I can reach the back wall. Just the light and some plugs to install today.
  14. Nice job getting that nose to fit right.
  15. Welcome back to the plastic!
  16. I have the Micro Mark one and am happy with the draw on the paint. Mine is in the basement but there is nothing like over spray anywhere .. the only paint around it is from my messy mixing. I'm not completely happy with the bottom feed for the fan .. the filter gets paint on it from my spraying down at the parts and they have to get changed often. Don't know about the weight .. it's anchored down now.
  17. That's interesting .. they are Channellock for sure. I got them for the flat face to bend metal sheet and PE pieces. Being Channellock, they are even better than I thought and I know they will last forever!
  18. I too agree a snap kit is good for a first time modeler. A 14 year old is well able to do things we do ... I was chopping tops at 14, but this is a first kit. Get a car that follows his (or her) interest.
  19. It's good to see the wheels are alighened correctly to drive .. those wheels fill out the wells nicely.
  20. Was my though exactly when I posted ..
  21. Looking at all those interior parts .. you call that "slow"???? !!
  22. These reflect my cheapness in getting something I think I need. First, a stand for pliers and such that copies the ones available I've seen around. Just a few pieces of plywood. Then I modified a paintbrush stand I have that doesn't work well. The Brushes always missed the small hole in the bottom and slipped out. So I added a 1'4" plywood piece midway down supported by plywood pieces at the sides. It works ok but would have been even better a bit lower. The piece I added is painted black in the photo.
  23. I've never tried using the epoxy method, but I use RVT Silicone 2 part putty to do the same thing. It seems more convenient than epoxy. The silicone I use is from Micro Mark and is over 15 years old and still works fine. I just knead the two equal parts together and press it over the logo or door handle, etc. For things like interior door handles I've even cast them with just melted sprue.
