  1. I've never seen the frame of a trailer before so this is interesting. This is a simple beam and girder frame as a space frame is 3 dimensional, not planar. The sides HAVE to be girders to pickup all the loads coming from the cross beams, or purlins. This arrangement does make sense to keep depth to a minimum, allow a uniform floor load design and spread the loads uniformly.
  2. I like all those plug wires all over the top ... do they go down into a cover on top of the valve cover? Too bad for that sink mark on the wires end, thou ...
  3. Posting Pics with Photo Bucket
  4. It's so good to see this getting built!
  5. NEVER hold it against you, George! That's what is cool. everyone has their own taste! And, look closely at the jellybean on my grill .. it's an Infiniti .. And, smooshed jellybeans are cool .. with low drag coefficients!
  6. Yeah .. this is a pretty bad design, eh? I could show you many poorly designed '61 cars ... American manufacturers lost it before that and are just now taking a design chance, Chrysler is at least. I AM happy that no two people have the same opinion of car design or we'd all be still buying Model-T's. Being stuck in a past area is stagnation. I'm just happy I can still love cars of all eras (well, skip most of the 70's ) and even many new designs are showing that some manufactures are willing to let their designers have say. We are in a golden age of the automobile right now ... just look under your hood and kick your tires! Cars have never had more horsepower, handled better, had more luxuries or been more technically advanced than the present day. And yes, I am of retirement age ... I could name every car on the road when I was 10 in 1956. I LOVED the look of cars in the 50's ... but then, I'M still alive and love many new cars now. I like the rod that started this thread. This is creativity and following the theme to the hilt! More people should do this rather than building another "50's hot rod" where you are only allowed to use a slim category of wheels that SOMEONE ELSE dictated. How boring.
  7. I haven't been in here since the start and I/m blown over by where it's gone! Not only is the theme (a normal Cranky Day, or something) coming to fruit, the textures look fantastic to boot. BTW, have you mentioned to the gamer store guy you just building a model car?
  8. Now I know who to call when my pet giraffe passes. This DOES look good!
  9. Andy's right ... most things don't need to print more than 300 dpi to look good. This is where your particular printer and ink may come into play. It's best to experiment a little. Just print a strip of test decals along the top as you can cut those off and print on the same sheet again. I use 720 dpi on decals because that's a high resolution listed by Epson. It's all pretty academic though. On decal paper, the ink does not soak in and you have to wait for it to dry before handling or applying the fixative spay. This is where the printer and ink come in. Some ink will flow and run if put on too heavy, i.e., too high a dpi.
  10. I'd say that is what you cal Black on Black! And, thanks to Dave Lindsay for posting that shot ... that's a Police graphic worth doing!
  11. Great looking build there ... paint looks "flowed on"!
  12. This is a very interesting question as Ive never dumped any clear in the purple pond and can't remember anyone addressing this issue in all the stripper threads here. This could turn into the MCM Weather Report ... cloudy, partly cloudy or looks like hailstones pounded the window! Will all you strippers please step forward ...

  20. If it's Alclad Chrome, you should be only spraying it on a black glossy enamel paint.

  22. I thought EYEGORE was from a kit. Now you're inferring he's a well behaved die-cast? There IS a difference, you know....
