  1. Good to hear that, Nick. ... at least about the computer.
  2. I have the interior panels all figured using styrene V Groove siding and strips but for the mounting of it I'd like to hear some thoughts on. It has to go around the full interior and looks like the photo below. It ends up being just a 28" high panel made from the various pieces and can be assembled on the workbench and glues in. Sounds simple in theory, but there's always more than one way to "skin a model" and figured I'd solicit some thoughts. My thought is to assemble the panels on a strip of tape (to the sticky side) and trim and glue to the van sides with some rubber cement. I'd probably spray paint the panels after assembly. This seems pretty easy and the only problem I can foresee is holding the tape down to it's non-sticky side. I'd clamp a steel straight edge along one edge and tack/tape the other edges down which will hole it and give a straight edge to place the strips. This is long winded and pretty simple I guess, but there's ALWAYS good comments from all the experience here and I'll always ask.
  3. That IS darn good mileage! I get the updated average ..the way it SHOULD be ... dump those instant readouts and give us something else in that circuit! Figure my 3.7L V6 with 330 hp is getting only 19 ..soon to be 18mpg I think and it shows how well Ford is doing.
  4. I never heard of the EDIT on a post not working. That's one for Harry or Gregg.
  5. Very Nice!
  6. Very nicely subtle weathering there.
  7. Curvacious!
  8. Forgive my ignorance, but is that the 4 cylinder model? Is the GT a one engine model? It's hard to relate without more info about engine size and I don't keep that info in my Head Hard Disk. If it's a V8, that's GREAT mileage .. even a 6 it is as my V6 gets only 19mpg on it's 330 hp. (19 mph as calculated readout by the car since bought) Also, if it's an "instant" calculation I can make my car read over 30mpg .. downhill with clutch in. eheh A value calculated since you bought it is the only one that means anything as far as these new-fangled readouts go.
  9. A great body to be using ... I'll be watching!
  10. I've run out of exclamations for your builds, so ,,, !
  11. Thanks for the comments guys. It may seem to be going slow, but it's FLYING by my usual standards! eheh And, a little update tease with the patterns for the RED CARPET ... just wait for the leopard skin mattress! Yes, this is a Hippie Van of the 90's!
  12. That engine is going top look fantastic in that body .. no huge wind catcher sticking up in front!
  13. That chassis is looking spectacular! This is first I've seen of those Bob Dudek wheel spindles and calipers .. amazing looking stuff!
  14. I really like that paint job with the black checkers.
  15. I HATE having to roll the truck over for washing and photos!
  16. Welcome to where the real modelers hang. There are NO rule here other than the old Golden one. That E Type was looking very good!
  17. This is a very quick sketch that shows how east these would be to build. Sorry there are no sizes for tubes and dimensions but I did this while in this post. Just gives an idea on how to make one.
  18. You're definitely doing Peter's body justice, Curt! I like the way this is looking.
  19. It does shrink, but not at all noticeable for pinholes and such. I always use one part Bondo putty for thin, small finishing jobs. I can't really say why the 2-part stuff didn't seem to fill the pinholes, but it's pretty much overkill for small repairs.
  20. I have this kit, but have not built it, so this is a wild stab at what might cause the type of problem you describe. Kit glass is pretty clunky and has much to do with how the body and chassis come together. I know I rarely use the glass when test fitting ... don't ask me why. So, just a possibility ...
  21. it's looking good ... not the simplest kit to build. It defiantly does build up o a nice one with all the detail in it. Mine is sacrificing parts to make my Hasegawa Kombi conversion look better.
  22. I've been pretty lucky on this topic and I have been in the process of building them all. Out of 14 cars I've owned ... I DO usually hold on to them when they are good ... there's only 2 that I can't model. I've pretty much started or finished all the others. They all required some mod's body work to get the model or year I had. I've also built 3 of my wife's and 2 of my Dad's cars. The two I can't do from other kits is my current 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe and the other being a 1972 Volvo 145 wagon.
  23. That is a real looker! The paint and chrome just belong together on this one.
  24. What's the semaphore flags for "you are clear for a landing" !!
