  1. Been away and just caught up here ... DUAL AXLE STEERING! ,,, GASP!!!
  2. I rarely comment on color, but I really like that color on that '51!
  3. Very nice PS work!
  4. Just a workout with the new micro punch set I got to put the gages in. These punches are going to see some use here... I really like what they do! Started some filler also to get shapes finalized. You can see I acquired a GMC Pickup dash which has the slight flares at the ends. Haven't decided yet if I'll hack the left end off to patch to the dash or just do it in sheet plastic. At least it gives me a better idea of the flare. The right side I'm leaving flat into the console ... it's pretty subtle anyway.
  5. Bah ..new print of a hundred year old negative! That's some spectacular diorama work! The weathering is right on and the photos are lit well.
  6. I bet you don't make 5 minute stops for gas ...
  7. You have a point there. I love the look of the seat as it will look good with the "beach" build I plan with this, but I never though of rat rod material .. would look good there too. I've done a few engines in resin, but am not up to casting this piece in my present mode. I have no problem lending it to one of the resin casters here if he had am inking. This build will be toward the bottom of my stack for some time, so it will be free for some time.
  8. Nice perspective on these! They do look realistic. Well, the mirrored "pond" needs some walk on water powder. .. I'm just kidding. I really like your photos. I've been wanting to get some photos like this recently and have been debating what kind of diorama board to make up for traveling. You're simple black posterboard sounds like a good simple solution. I've always been also interested in photography since I was young, so equipment there is not a problem. I keep worrying about which lens, how high to place the model (like the table you mention)' perspective relationship of model to background, etc. etc. I know.. just get out and try something! Your photos give me a push to do it.
  9. I use Photoshop for all my image editing, but I'm a rank amateur compared to the skills you have, Harry. What you do is unfathomable to me! You had to have a mentor that taught you all the secret shortcut keys!
  10. He was the guy that checked the last choice in Bluesman Mark's recent poll.
  11. That '40 goes good with fries!
  12. I've never seen this car ... what some people will do for a wheelie!! Everything on this looks perfect in texture and execution .. wow!
  13. Welcome to the forum! We have some talented Big Boys here .. they even commandeered their own forum area! I may not build large scale , but I sure love to look at them .. will be looking forward to seeing yours.. they sound cool in the modifications. We do have an On the Workbench section where you can post photos before all is done.
  14. The paint job is amazing .. must have used 5 rolls of tape! It's all looking fantastic.
  15. So I was going through some old 3D car files I've acquired over the years ... it's been 10 years since I did much 3d, and found I had 3D meshes of some of the odd cars I've started, including this Renault 4Cv. I started wondering if trying my ideas out in 3D before cutting plastic or that dreadful body painting ( ) would make any sense. This may be the one to try it on since the mods I plan aren't THAT deep, but the paint I haven't considered much yet. I was thinking a yellow like is already mapped to this mesh, but not that shade. I WILL have to cut the door to match the model, but that's easier than in plastic ... kind of my reasoning. These are quick renders of the 3D model I have, just so you all know what I'm dawdling on about. Now, if they just threw in 3D meshes in all model boxes!!
  16. Been following this all along and loved the build AND the results! I agree with Zukie ... Armor All ... learn to ignore Harry! That turbo plumbing looks grand ... really makes the engine bay!
  17. Nicely done! Had to be some surprise opening that!
  18. Sure don't see one of these every day! I'd probably travel up there in one of those. Fantastic exceution!

    The Amber Queen

    A classic!
  20. I'm looking forward to seeing the scales decals in place. The color looks like a good one for them to show. I'm assuming you printed them with an ink jet and those inks do not like dark colors ... they are just not opaque enough. Since you mentioned this is your first time printing your own decals, I'd suggest a test over the same paint with another decal sheet. Those decals DO look awesome!
  21. Been slow with all going on here but got one update on the dash/console progress. The center console piece is just placed in there and the rod sticking out of it is NOT a shift lever! .. just a temporary grab hold. Think it's time to get some gauge holes located before gluing in too much more ... at least some planning time on that as the form is looking good to me now. I've been going back and forth with my straight 8 Chrysler turbo system and haven't even started a WIP on that yet, so they snuck in for a photo opportunity.
  22. Some really nice lines there! I really like the concept and the look.
  23. Yay 956! Nice looking build and I agree on the wheels. Yours look SO much better than those huge disks!
  24. Very good looking and cleanly done!
