  1. Heller did a line of racing bike kits in 1/24, mostly 500 class bikes fully faired. There was a Honda NSR 500, Suzuki RGV-500 and a couple of others.
  2. They're still out there for $10-15. Google "sleep alarm for drivers". Most look like an behind-the-ear hearing aid.
  3. Good luck with that.
  4. Generally not. Laptops use non-standard components to fit inside whatever case the manufacturer decides. Even if you find a motherboard that physically fits, the peripherals (ports, disk drives and the like) will probably be in different places. If your laptop is 9 years old, you'd be better off just replacing the whole thing. Performance will be much better, and it will be much cheaper. There have been a lot of advances in that time.
  5. That would probably be this: https://www.duplicolor.com/products/customWrap/ . Never tried it or seen it used, but I saw it in the auto parts store this weekend.
  6. I'd be interested to see a video. Are there any?
  7. Interesting - there's two Raptor kits?! I thought the "autoshow raptor" and the "snaptite raptor" were the same. Yay!
  8. That's what I thought. Thanks!
  9. True, but Revell has not included any stickers in the Build N Play kits, of which the CV is a member. That's why I was asking. I almost bought one at the LHS, but the box art left me with the impression that they were tampo printed on the kits.
  10. There's only 48 states again? What happened to the other two, and which are they? Welcome!
  11. Agreed, but the lindenberg kit was hardly the pinnacle of kit design. It was missing some seams - the ones parallel to the rear window on the c pillar, and the ones at either end of the header panel in front of the hood pop immediately to mind. I don't know what happened to the later issues with the clear taillights - they were painted only halfway. All in all, they were pretty good models. I've still got a couple of the early issues laying about - I've been thinking about building one as a Lakehurst, NJ police car. I did see the kit in the LHS today. Does it have the "police markings" printed on the model, or are they decals/stickers?
  12. I was pretty upset when the average price of kits hit $5, but I still bought what I wanted. I have no problem paying the asking price for a model I want when I see it. I'm not sure there is a limit to what I will pay for a run of the mill 1/25 auto kit. There hasn't been so far. The problem is not the price, it's the subjects. There's no need for me to buy most of the same old reissues at $25+ after paying $2-$5 for them in the past. Unless a kit is a personal favorite car or relatively modern model year, I have zero interest in it and will not buy it.
  13. The flier in the OP says that the 914 is a 2'n1 kit. I don't remember any issue of the kit having more than one building option available. I would expect that the stock and Ginther/racing versions are the two options, though we will have to wait and see. This kit is the one I most excited about; more than I've been about any kit in a long time. I'm a huge fan of the 914. I've already got a couple of builds in mind - no, none involve V8s.
  14. How did you remove the fender flares? They seem to match the pictures posted by Zarana-X pretty well. After seeing these pictures, it looks like the stock metal fenders are under there somewhere on the model. I'm assuming you cut them off with the blade parallel to the longitudinal vertical axis of the vehicle. I've been seeing this kit in its various incarnations since it was first offered, but the flares have always prevented me from buying it. Maybe not this time....
  15. Thanks! I'll check it out next time I'm in town.
  16. Where is that? I know of the one on Dutchman's Lane and the one off the Outer Loop.
  17. Welcome aboard! I was born and raised in Hikes Point and J-town.
  18. Never mind. Not worth going any further with you.
  19. You did a nice job of evading the question.
  20. What kind of response is that? It has nothing to do with anything. Thanks for your input.
  21. Totally agree with Harry. It is much easier to force hundreds or thousands of non-technical users to install and figure out a third party browser than it is to fix the website. Use Firefox or Chrome.
  22. Awesome! That's a great thread. Someone else mentioned using the 92 era Ford bed, too, for the inside. I have a couple of those laying around. There may be a way to match the bed interior to Mike's fender well work. The weird fender well on the 78 was always the holdup for me. Now there's some options.
  23. Thanks. That's what I was afraid of.
  24. In the last frame, he mentions doing the inner bed later. Was there a tutorial for that? I can't find any mention on the site you referenced.
  25. This all sounds a lot like when the big block V8 died as a car option. A lot of the same arguments were made, and now we have standard run of the mill small block V8s putting out more rated HP than any big block performance option ever did. The performance automotive industry survived the loss of the big block, and it will survive the loss of the V8.
