  1. I think that's the first one I've seen in white. It looks really good. Nice job.
  2. I don't drive 124. Are they going to come out with a 125?
  3. Thanks! It's not as grim as I thought it was.
  4. Is there a British automobile manufacturer anymore? I thought all were sold to foreign companies or closed. I didn't realize McLaren was, but I know now.
  5. I followed a brand new shiny red Alfa Romeo 4C coupe into Skyline Drive at Front Royal, VA.
  6. AMT made several Rangers XLT in the range of 1993-1996, in both the standard and Splash variants. One of the Splash variants would be good, but you would need to modify/recreate the 99 grille and hood. I think the wheels were available in a AMT Ranger or Explorer kit, too.
  7. Very cool. I was in 1976-1992, permanently attached to Greenling (614), Birmingham (695) and Finback (670). I also rode Batfish (681), Tinosa (606), and Sunfish (649) for various lengths of time. I was an STS. Best job I ever had.
  8. My favorite is Testors Model Master Liquid Cement for Plastic Models (stock number 8872). It comes in a home plate shaped container with a very thin application tube. You can put the cement right where you want it in the amount you want, and it won't spill. It is fairly slow drying without a strong odor. It is supposed to be MEK based and suitable for ABS parts like Plastruct, too. It's all I've used for years, and have been quite happy with it.
  9. Saw a bright yellow Lamborghini Murcielago(?) roadster yesterday, and a 1966 Chrysler today, probably a 300, on K St. NW in DC.
  10. I like it - looks good. At first, I thought it needs a red vinyl top. Silver with a maroon/red top was a pretty popular combination back then. I'm glad you changed it. How did you lower the suspension, and by how much? I'm working on a non-S&H version myself. It won't be stock, though. Still working out the details.
  11. Depends on how much scratchbuilding you want to do. It's a typical diecast insert - no real detail much lower than the head. No block/oil pan/transmission assembly, and only a suggestion of the manifolds. It's fairly well detailed for a diecast, but I would think about all you could use would be the head/valve cover and air cleaner.
  12. I didn't mean to say the Comet was back out, just a historical comment on something to keep an eye out for. I don't know if it is back out.
  13. There was also a Motor Max 1971 Mercury Comet. It is very similar to the Maverick. Both have 6 cylinder engines, and are very nice for the price.
  14. You're welcome. It's a shame; I don't think Edge is quite ready for prime time. I like it a lot, but it doesn't have all, or even most, of the functionality of the more established browsers. Some sites seem to work much better with Edge, others work much worse. I hope upgrades come soon for Edge.
  15. Yes, I have had the same issue with two or three threads recently; the Gran Torino thread was the first, and then a couple of others. I'll get a message that says Edge was trying to load the page several times, and couldn't so it gave up. It usually happens on certain pages; page 13 of the Torino thread was fine, page 14 never loaded, page 15 loaded fine for a few replies then it started acting the same way. I was using Edge on Windows 10. When I use IE 11, everything is fine. I can see all the pages I couldn't see in Edge.
  16. I received an email last night that they are shipping the order that I placed July 3. It's grilles, hoods and taillights, about 5 items. No complaints, just information.
  17. The package is DO-35 (Variant AH). See the following page for dimensions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DO-204
  18. The Preston's items are not resistors, those are the diodes I was talking about. Ace-Garageguy posted a picture of resistors.
  19. Check out the 1N4148 or 1N914 switching diode. Most electronics stores will have them in stock at a very reasonable price.
  20. Greenling was stationed in New London at State Pier, directly across from Electric Boat. You could see most of the Tridents and 688s being built as you could anywhere on the New London riverfront. As we were pulling out one day, Ohio was returning from her construction sea trials - that is one big boat.
  21. USS Greenling (SSN 614), USS Birmingham (SSN 695) and USS Finback (SSN 670) were my permanent boats. I also rode at various times USS Batfish (SSN 681), USS Tinosa (SSN 606), and USS Sunfish (SSN 649). This was all between 1978 and 1992. Qualified on all but Batfish.
  22. I have a Fujimi Prius G. It's a pretty nice kit of a JDM Prius, typical Japanese kit design. It's curbside with a decent steerable suspension, nicely engraved chassis and separate suspension pieces with polycap wheels. The interior is a bucket with separate seats, right hand drive and decent detail. The body is very nice, with open grilles but no opening panels. All the lights are clear with chrome backs that can be detailed correctly. Window masks are provided, and the door windows are up. As with most of my builds, it's stalled in progress.
  23. Why was it finally acceptable? Did you tweak the design between prints, or is there a variation in print quality between prints? I've seen those silhouette portrait cutters in craft stores. Interesting that the model railroaders found they would cut plastic. Very interesting work you are doing here. Looking forward to seeing more.
  24. I watched a 71/72 Chevelle SS convertible nearly get centerpunched by a new F-150 after the Chevelle pulled out and turned right in front of the truck. No harm done, lots of honking and presumably birds flying.
  25. The web browser in Windows 10, Edge, is supposed to be able to create Web Notes which allow you to make notes and markings right on a web page. You can save and share them. I haven't actually tried it yet, but it is something to look into. Oh, and the Favorites are much easier to use. You can delete Favorites with just a right click.
