  1. The airbox looks great. It's been more than 20 years since I had my 750F, so I don't remember a whole lot of specifics. The wiring loom seems a little heavy for the bike; even on my Goldwing with its miles of wire, there are very few cable runs, if any, larger in diameter than my thumb. That's maybe an inch to an inch and a quarter in diameter. Most of the cables are much smaller - less than a half inch.
  2. The Revell with the scissor doors is also a 4 door.
  3. The Revell USS New Jersey 1982 Platinum Edition (80-5129) in 1/350 appears to have a list price of $240, or about $5 more. Interesting, there is a 1/72 Pirate Ship that lists for $196. I had no idea Revell had kits that expensive. I always thought their 1/72 scale submarines were the top of the price range for them.
  4. I just picked this and the 2017 Raptor up today. The Corvette is the traditional Revell Snap-Tite; well detailed and simple to put together. There's a few minor parting seams on the body, but other than that, nothing to complain about. There is no paint on the model - you'll have to do any detail painting needed. The Raptor is labeled as a Snap-Tite, but looks more like the Build and Play Series. A very glossy finish with the wheel wells and B pillar painted black, and "Raptor" printed on the sides. The interior has a separate dash and steering wheel; the rest is one piece including the bed. The windows are painted black in the appropriate places, and the wheels are black. The headlights are painted silver like the Mustang. I'm very pleased with both, and am looking forward to building them.
  5. They look like about 1/12 scale to me. Some are a little larger scale such as the screwdriver, pocket knife and nutcracker. That scale is usually doll house furniture, but the rings make them look like charm bracelet/jewelry items.
  6. Thanks a lot guys! It looks like they are pretty much rereleases of the same basic kit. The yellow one, which is the one I have, has only the stock looking wheels and one grille style, and some of the other options may be missing. It should work for what I need. The Testors kit may possibly work also, but going from memory, the grille and its opening are different for a start. I haven't actually tested it - they haven't both bubbled to the top of the stash at the same time.
  7. There were at least two kits - one was kit 2059 (flat box version?), and the other is 4225 (SRT8 Super Bee, which I have on hand). Are they the same kit as far as plastic goes? What, if any, are the differences? I just received a resin body that specifies 2059 as one of the donor kits, and I think all I need is the headlights, windshield, grille and a few other parts. Thanks!
  8. The guy is European. Apparently Revell markets a line of paints in Europe which many Revell AG kits reference. This is a question that our European modeler friends need to answer.
  9. The AMT does, though I can't speak to the Revell.
  10. Saw a Rod Shop Barracuda (70-75 vintage) on an open trailer somewhere on the backroads of VA in the I-81 corridor. It looked brand new, so it was probably a repro.
  11. Just what I was looking for! Thanks for the lead! It seems that none of the available Magnum/300 model kits can swap the front cap without major surgery.
  12. By volume. A 240" long, 48" tall and 48" wide full size car will be 20" X 4" X 4" in 1/12 scale. All dimensions of a piece get divided by the scale. The theoretical car mentioned earlier would be 10" X 2" X 2" in 1/24 scale.
  13. How did the butcher introduce his wife? Meet Patty.
  14. A stock white 69 Boss 302 Mustang, travelling in company with a light yellow 67-69 Cougar with cornering lamps, black vinyl top and spoiler on US50 between Annapolis and Bowie.
  15. I saw on another site that the original Gulf racing blue was RAL 6027. I used to have the orange color too, but can't seem to find it, but it was another RAL color, maybe 2005 or 2007. I think it was 2007. They seem to be pretty close to the original colors anyway. The RAL colors are used by military modelers, and there should be cross-references to more common paints.
  16. Number 5 is kind of cool. The rest, not so much.
  17. It looks like a pretty good program to me. This program seems to require pre-orders, and not just votes like others. Airfix has a pretty good catalog/catalogue of 1/24 & 1/25 scale automobiles. I have their MGB (includes chrome and rubber baby buggy bumper versions), a Maserati Bora, and Toyota RAV4, all in 1/24. There are others, some tools were shared with MPC.
  18. OK, you've talked me into it. It has the two major discrepancies of the Lindbergh kit covered - the "cut lines" of the grill header panel, and the strip parallel to the rear window. Nice looking build.
  19. He probably did, and it passed. It is spelled correctly.
  20. 1973 Ford Capri bought used in 1978. It had the 88 raging horsepower 2 litre motor, and a 4 speed. Great little car - had a blast in it. There was a Datsun 510 driver or two in San Diego that seemed pretty impressed with it. Traded it in on a used 1979 Mustang Ghia 5.0 in 1981.
  21. Great news. How's that new 1/72 "Cold War" submarine coming along? I've heard rumors on a ship building forum. I can only hope it's a 637 long hull, though a short would do in a pinch. I'm looking forward to finally building a Moebius model, either the Ford pickups or a Sturgeon.
  22. I knew they all had vinyl tops; I didn't know they were all black. Maybe there was a mod top or two out there... I remember the first Superbird I saw, parallel parked (!) in the Highlands in Louisville, KY in the early 70's. The one thing that caught my eye was the spoiler with the Road Runner logo.
  23. Orange Superbird with black vinyl top, and a Road Runner stuffed animal leaning out the quarter window on the DC Beltway inner loop getting off on the BW Parkway South.
  24. Heller did a line of racing bike kits in 1/24, mostly 500 class bikes fully faired. There was a Honda NSR 500, Suzuki RGV-500 and a couple of others.
