  1. Raul, maybe this will help Non-disc brake version from '69 Shelby, disc brake version in '64 Chevy pickup. Your resto-rod Poncho cousin is calling you to complete that chevy!
  2. Jim, I just picked this kit up today, and yes, mine also has some waviness on the hood (where the stock scoops were), the doors (where there are small braces molded inside) and the trunk (where the posts were inside). These areas will need to be block sanded for sure, and possibly some putty at the areas of the door braces (I'm not sure why they are there). Otherwise, it looks to be a great kit, with lots of detail and those spectacular decals!
  3. Lyle, you maniac! That turned out pretty cool for a quick build. I think I'll do mine exactly like that.......JUST KIDDING! (I'll let Kren do that ). Is that a photo-etched grille on it? Hey, I'm finally going to get down to MAMA this Sat, so I can check it out there. See ya.
  4. That's coming along nicely, Jonathan. You're really getting into the aesthetics of these kinds of rods! This is such a great hobby to get back into, isn't it? I hope you are enjoying the CPMCC meetings as much as I am, because I think we have some of the finest builders around, including you. Hey, are you sure you don't want to put those tractor tires back on the rear wheels??
  5. It would be cool to have someone in the high office who is into model cars. Gregg for President!!
  6. You're outa control, man. I think you're heading to Gearyville! That looks killer, Cruz. You didn't mention the brand of paint or shade on the body, but that's eye popping! That interior color will really look good with it. That motor came out cool, too. That one should stand out from the crowd. Nick and I will have to get down to the MAMA meeting Sat, hope to see you there!
  7. Looking like the real deal as usual, Bill! Isn't it good to have a few pets around to help with the build in one way or another? Now excuse me while I wipe off some Pug drool on my latest project.
  8. The usual amazing job! I have always liked this style Buick since my uncle owned one. My favorite stock build of this year Buick is Bill Geary's, and also this custom version (in my favorite color). The taillight treatment really works, and the tonneau cover makes it flow. Hey Dave, you have a pm.
  9. Jairus wants more close-ups, so I included a few here.
  10. An all aluminum 1:1 beauty, and my favorite new style Ferrari. I do like the red ones, but I had to do this one in my favorite shade of blue. The finish is Dupli-Color Med Maui Blue, and for something different in the interior, I went with silver and black. Another excellent Tamiya kit that went together flawlessly. Yes Cruz, these kits are officially a vice of mine, and I have more to do
  11. I'm an old softie for VW Bugs of any type (we actually had a supercharged one as a family car in the '60s!), and I also loved this F/C for the sheer coolness and unique factor. You now have yourself a superb replica, Marty! Great job.
  12. If they do as good a job on this as the Lamborghini Miura I recently built, then it'll be a winner.
  13. Looks great, Mike. By the way, do you have a miniature factory crankin' out those Cragar SSs?? Try to get to the next CPMCC meeting with some of these restorations, stitched hand or not!
  14. Hey John, that looks wild! I have always liked these goofy show rods and dragsters. In one of my favorite colors, too. The two key words you used were 'fun build'. That's what it's all about.
  15. Hey Mike, lookin' good. Love the color! I would go with the spoked front wheels from the Bantam Blast (or Winged Express) kit. Not a whitewall guy, but I know you like 'em! That motor with those headers looks cool, too.
  16. Inferior? Not a chance, Andy. That one's my favorite of yours, too. Not to mention the pick of best Street Rod model at the York Nat's! My favorite in my collection has to be this build. It doesn't have the most detail I've ever put into a model, the best paint, or the most time put into it, but I had the most fun building it, even through a few mistakes I made.
  17. That looks to be the Tamiya kit. Great job! What material did you use for the grille screens? I got the Tamiya kit for Christmas, the only thing I am going to do differently is paint the wheels in a polished aluminum look.
  18. Another beauty, Cruz. This gen. RX-7 always looks good with a body kit. Mica Blue is a winner, too.
  19. Ah, nothing cooler than a red Chevelle with Cragars! A beautiful build, Rob. This car reminds me of a time in the '70s & '80s, there was a girl in our area who drove a gorgeous red '67, with Cragars. My 1/1 car, an Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite, also has four wheel drum brakes, but weighing less than 2,000 lbs. helps stop it!
  20. Lyle is quite prolific.....at model building! I feel honored to be a fellow member of the model clubs of this true craftsman. My favorites are the Lymelyte '53 Ford pickup (hey, remember when the one wheel came off at NNL East? That was cool!) and the '55 Chevy. All are great builds.
  21. Both look great, Geoff. I love these little beasts, especially when you see one on the streets today. There are a couple running around our small county roads, and you only realize just how tiny they are alongside even a new MINI! If you have more to build, keep 'em coming
  22. Brian, that GTO turned out beautiful. It has classy written all over it! My favorite year is the '66, since my Dad had one, but the '68 & '69 bodies were sleek and smooth. That color green makes it stand out also, without being flashy. Love it!
  23. That appears to be coming along nicely, Cruz! I hope you'll have it done for the Jan. meeting contest. Yes, the Japanese kits are quite "vicey"! I have a Tamiya 360 Modena going together, and a Fujimi Dino 246 GTS started
  24. Raul, once again all the mods come together on this for a clean look that works. Very smooth! The possibilities with this kit are endless, and yours came out very cool.
  25. That's a neat old street machine, Irv. You should have faked us out though, and photographed it on a slotted wood block!
