  1. I blame Raul for this, since his good post in the general section convinced me. Here goes; Ferrari 360 Modena '41 Chevy pickup Audi R8 '60 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite Dino 246 GTS
  2. Show winners, all! My favorites are the F430, 'Cuda and Charger. Now, find the time next year to get that Lambo Miura done so I can see how much better it turns out than mine .
  3. I'm starting on the John Greenwood "Stars & Stripes" Corvette 1971 Sebring race car, then hope to do; '65 Chevy station wagon street machine/pro touring (Modelhaus body) '40 Ford chopped coupe (R&M Co of Md resin body) '60 Chevy hardtop Speedwagon roadster Porsche 911 GT2 road version Lancia Stratos HF 'Stradale' Ferrari F40 '66 Volkswagen Bug street machine Ducati 900 Mike Hailwood Replica Lamborghini Murcielago '48 Ford Woody street rod '48 Chevy street rod Possibly a few more, if time permits.
  4. Andy forgot to mention that as soon as he plunked down the Buick on the table at NNL East, it was immediately wanted for a photo, and is in a certain contest annual. Yes, a very nice build, as usual!
  5. Tamiya's ultimate street Skyline, done in Dupli-Color Bright Aqua Metallic. The only non kit items were the Detail Master seat belts and the Scale Motorsports carbon fiber decal on the spoiler. My son built one one of these a while back, and I've always thought they were cool, mean looking cars. Not to mention 1,000 H.P. in ultimate tune. Hope you like it, Tonio! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
  6. Lyle, you are one very prophetic....uh....pragmatic.....no,......PROLIFIC builder! And every one a show winner. Jeez, I was off three months for a broken hip and couldn't keep up. Bring on retirement!
  7. That came out really nice! That first shot looks like the real thing.
  8. Or '61-'65 T-Bird?
  9. The fact that they survived for 40+ years is amazing enough, as most things this fragile don't, but they are a piece of history that surely needs to be preserved. It's great to see these old collections, no matter how they have been built or customized. I should see if my older brother still has his old late 50's build-ups, as I remember starting to build in the mid sixies thinking they were ancient!
  10. A beautiful build, and clean, clean, clean! Great color choice and two-toning. I'm not into lowriders, but this shows that you don't need a lot of gimmicks to build a fantastic looking box stock model. Very cool!
  11. Now that's something different, and cool! Raul, I thought you only did the shiny stuff, but I see here just how multi-talented you are. Looks like with that big motor you had to go back to an even more primitive steering setup .
  12. Another masterpiece, Bill! A great subject in any scale. I've built about a half dozen Bugeye Sprites in that scale from K&R Replicas of England. A magnifying glass is definitely essential .
  13. I'm sure when Dan is good and ready, he will post progress pics (right, Dan?). If you have seen any of Dan's superb work in person, then you know he needs to find some building time. There's always the broken bones option for more bench time.
  14. That looks great, Ed. Very nicely done. This is a nice little curbside kit of a cool, different car. I like your color choices, and as you can see great minds think somewhat alike . In 1971 my best friend in high school bought his first car from his older brother, who decided to get a new car. My friend's first car was a mint burgundy '64 Comet Cyclone! Needless to say, he wishes he had it now.
  15. Dave Zinn's idea of a 'Reader's Rides' section in the magazine is a good one. Also, Gregg could possibly do a feature on an 'Under Glass' selection from the forum in each issue. As far as contests, I'm happy if I have a magazine photograph any of mine . People's choice judging isn't always the fairest, but I'd rather have it that way anytime. The NNL type events are my favorite for socializing, learning, meeting new people, and just relaxed fun.
  16. That's looking good so far, Lyle. I was curious why you went with a more lime color green, than something like Dupli-Color's Hampstead green, which looks closer. Personal preference, or, are you also going to put a mirror under it? Those wheels on the 1/1 look like American Wheels' Hopsters, that came in the Revell California Wheels '67 Chevelle kit. Your choice of wheels looks great, too. OK, that's all. You can give me grief when you see me at the MAMA meeting (yes, we will be there!).
  17. Thanks for posting this one, Cruz. If Chris doesn't, we will!! Hopefully he will have it at NNL East, where you can see it up close and in person. An amazing build in every aspect. I'm another big fan of this club brother's work!

  19. I've also found that those 'AAA' stickers you get every so often in the mail also work nice on mirrors, with an adhesive back and mirror chrome surface. They have just the right thickness, too.
  20. Incredible build and detailing! That really came out beautiful. Your subtle reworking of the rear window trim looks a lot better. The engine shots also look like the real thing. This sure brings back memories of my first car. Great job!
  21. If you don't keep your models in an individual display case (which keeps them pretty much dust free), and don't have a French maid, first gently brushing off any dust, then very carefully using an automotive detailer will clean and help keep the waxed shine. I've been using Meguiar's mist & wipe Quik Detailer on lacquers and enamels, polished or not with great results. On 1/1 vehicles it really does keep the shine and protects between waxes.
  22. Simply beautiful, Cruz! Even with the dog dish caps, the redlines really set off the wheels & tires. The vinyl top and trim look perfect. My favorite year Charger, in a great shade of blue. See ya later.
  23. A thankful Thanksgiving to you and all. It seems there is always plenty of doom and gloom to go around these days, but you just have to stop and think what really matters. This is also a holiday that seems to be forgotten lately, with the ever increasing commercialization of the other close holidays.
  24. Bill, you were closer with your guess! When Nick first showed that to me, I wondered where in the world that took place, with such varied vintage iron. Thanks for clearing that up, Hans. Were you the guy on that moped?

    Grumpy Nova

Beautiful build Kenny, that looks like the real drag car. Excellent detailing, also. Growing up, my local dragstrip was the Grump's home track, so I got to see all his neat Novas and Camaros. A Nova with Cragars always looks cool.
