  1. The Silent Traffic guys do some amazing builds. Bill Deegan's '58 Pontiac Bonneville conv. was absolutely beautiful (puts my Bonneville to shame!). John Dell'Osa's fantastic work. A fun day, great models, slot cars with Uncle Bobby & the gang. You'll have to get there some time, Bill!
  2. That turned out sharp, Raul. I love most any Willys model. Very clean with nice detailing. Good luck at the show, hope to see some of yours in the mags.
  3. Cruz, I e-mailed our good friend Uncle Bobby, and he says it's still a go. I did tell Mike to send out an e-mail to club members reminding them about it, and that it was still on. Hope to see you there.
  4. Absolutely beautiful, Jim! That Aston Martin color looks great on it, as the metallic spices it up a bit. The look without the 'guard rail' bumpers is a lot sleeker, too. Just the right amount of details, with the wind screens a nice touch. That shade of red interior even goes great with the green. A timeless classic, you really nailed the right look for it. Hey, bring it over to the NNL East, so I can get an up-close look at it .
  5. As Gomer would say, HEY ANDY!!! Sorry, I had to do that. That Buick looks beautiful! Your detailing under the hood looks great as usual. Very clean, just how I like 'em. A winner for sure!
  6. Clay, that rear pan (as the instructions call it) tucks up inside the body, flush with the fenders, with the outside 'dog legs' going behind the tail light panel. Here's a shot of it in place. It should be body color, also. Hope this helps.
  7. Ron, that wagon is beautiful! Did you build all of it on the meeting table? '65 Chevys will always be near and dear to me, as my first car was a '65 Impala.
  8. I'm pretty much at the stage Lyle describes, as my wife nears the big 5-0, her hobbies include scrapbooking and jewelry making, so there is some mixing of materials, tools and methods with my model building. We both enjoy each other's handiwork, and appreciate each other's hobbies and interests more now than ever. Plus, she's happy it's a hobby I can share with our son. Hey Dave, is this your wife's Mini Cooper? (taken at the '06 NNL East) If so, that is a fantastic build! I would fall in love with my wife all over again if she built a Mini (in fact her favorite car) like that one!!
  9. Amazing, amazing details! One of the finest Pro Mods I've seen to date. That's a build you can certainly be proud of, Matt.
  10. Bob, that turned out really nice! It kind of reminds me of what my Bugeye would look like with it's stock wheels and small hubcaps. I'll have to try that method of panel line application, as a fellow club member (Cruz) uses it, too. Will we see it at NNL East?
  11. Jason, that came out beautiful! Looks like the decals laid down nicely even around the scoop. My favorite Mustangs are the early fastbacks. I'll definitely be down to the Philly sit-down, hope to see you there.
  12. Just wondering if you will make this year's NNL East show. At last year's show (and at the NNL Mid-Atlantic) I finally got to see you at work (taking the pics). Hope to see you there again.
  13. That turned out very cool as usual, Lyle. Isn't this the one with a wood grained dash, using the method that you're going to some day instruct the club members with? Love the skull!
  14. He's right, Harry. You can even be Bill Geary, or Jairus, or even Daniel Peterson!
  15. A red Ferrari? what's that? A beautiful build there, Chris. Another one of my favorite styles. Great detailing, too. The recent Fujimi kits are really nice.
  16. Donks?? OUCH! Raul, you gotta airbag that Chebby until it scrapes! You will get it lower in the front with the smaller 'T's, but it might have to be trimmed to fit the bigger ones in the rear. I only used that combo once, on a '66 Malibu wagon that I wanted a mean rake. Without doing a lot of surgery, I couldn't get it much lower in the rear. You're getting there, though!
  17. Bill, the builder of that '56 Chevy Pro Mod (engine close-up pic) is Jason Campbell. You needed shades to look at Cruz's Merc! Also, Lyle brought this guy along.
  18. Yes Lyle, I also need to learn how to make sick wood grain like that for at least three woodie kits.
  19. Clay, we bought a new house 9 1/2 years ago, and I still have yet to make my workbench area in the basement (some day ). I do have my paint booth and dehydrator in the basement, but this is my set-up now, and I just relocated it to a nice sized spare bedroom over the garage. I sometimes build one-handed, as here my supervisor said I needed a break
  20. Having seen the paint job on this Merc up close and in person, it could pass for a Stillwagon finish. Just plain gorgeous, Cruz! The details under the hood and chassis really set it off, too. Love it!
  21. Okay, Jonathan, are you shooting for the Bill Geary of weathering status? That's pretty neat, and the story is believable, too! Sometime down the road, I think a weathering tech session is in order at a club meeting.
  22. That is beautiful! This has to be one of the finest Chargers I've seen yet (along with Andy's). All my favorites; year, color, wheels, striping, stance, etc, etc. Fantastic job on the details, too.
  23. An awesome build Dale, right down to the colors on the wheel spokes!
  24. Virgil, I'm still chuckling as I write this That is a great little diorama! Is that an Alloy Forms Caddie there? I've built quite a few of their metal cars for an H.O. train set-up I built with my son some time ago. Cool!
  25. This was fun and informative to watch it come together. Now this is an Indy car! They had more style then, and those pipes look fantastic. Incredible work.... you've done it again, Ismael!
