  1. Jeff, that Ferrari looks great! All it needs is Ismael's little card trick to get it down lower .
  2. Alex, no wonder your 1/24 builds are phenomenal, when your small scale models are this good! I've done some 1/43 metal models, but they look like toys compared to this. Simply incredible.
  3. Beautiful build, Lyle. For the little bit of time I've known Harry and seen his work, it looks exactly like he would have done it.
  4. A few samples from a fantastic show...... The rest here: http://s124.photobucket.com/albums/p40/Ran...%20East%202009/
  5. Beautiful, clean build with great detailing. I'll be looking for it at NNL East!
  6. How about a couple of British classics. I'm a Healey guy, but I love the styling on these two. Oh yeah, include the racing versions, also
  7. oops! sorry about that, Bobby!
  8. Thanks,Gregg...will see you there! Len Geisler Mike DeRagon Mr. Biggs Mr. 1/16 Chris619 Bobby Bogg Randy Kern NickF40
  9. Al, that is one beautiful Buick! Very clean, with sharp detailing. One question, did you use the vacuformed windows that came with the kit, or make your own?
  10. Looking good, Raul! You know, you could have taken the easy route, using Rep.& Min. Co. of Md.'s 2" chopped '40 Ford Coupe (as I did ) You are a scratch building master, though
  11. My two favorite resin casters are Rep.&Min. Co of Md., and Modelhaus Resin. That wagon body (and interior) had absolutely NO pinholes in it! Also, the prep for paint was simply washing it with dish soap. I did another company's resin body a while ago that had pinholes all over it. I got this kit at last year's NNL East, where they were a vendor, at a good price, saving shipping, also. Dale and Mike, I think you're right, I'm going with the 409!
  12. Bill, I'm pretty sure I got those surf boards from a vendor at our Sept. Show, and I'm thinking they came with the Garbage Truck show rod. I also have the set Norm sells, from the Mod Squad kit, but they were quite a bit longer, as I just want these to stick out the rear window a little. Oh yeah, I haven't decided if I want to go with the 409, which would be fine, or a 427.
  13. I combined my love of station wagons, street machines and my first car, a '65 Impala SS. This is a Modelhaus resin kit, using parts from the Monogram '65 Chevy Impala SS. I shaved the door handles and badges, and used a Drag City Castings 427 'Vette style hood. The paint is Dupli-Color Toreador Red with Silver Marblehead. I am planning on using the silver for the interior, also. I just pulled the body and hood out of the dehydrator for the outside shots, and have to polish and foil later. Wheels & tires are from the Revell Boss 429 kit. Sorry Mr. Hamilton, but I can't do a factory stock '65 Chevy
  14. 90% of the time I find I have to 're-engineer ' the suspension to get the right stance, and that includes lopping off axle stubs and suspension pieces. The only exceptions are the Tamiya, Hasegawa and Fujimi kits. I also just finished the S&S 'Vette racer that needed the header flanges completely chopped off to fit & look good. It won't be seen, and I don't care if it isn't there. A club member once told me every build he does has to have the wheels turn/roll. That's fine, but for me that really limits kit bashing or just swapping wheels & tires.
  15. Simply beautiful. Quite the aircraft carrier deck on that! Very cool two-seater concept. I'll be looking for it at NNL East.
  16. Jason, that looks beautiful here, as it did when I saw it at the Philly Sit. Great job on the detailing, too. Will you be at NNL East?
  17. ;) I think the re-issued kits were even heavier than the originals with all the extra flash! Terrific job on that, as I've had some experience with these kits. Also, the original kits were manufactured nearby from where I live. The red wheels really set off the body color. Looks great!
  18. I'm not a real fan of customs, because they can sometimes look cartoonish, but I really like the transformation you did to this body style! The '67 Chevy roof looks perfect on it, helping to shrink the huge trunk surface. I've got this kit also, wanting to graft a '60 Chevy roof on, but now I'm rethinking that. The only thing I would do different would be to try to trim down the big front bumper, otherwise it's beautiful! It looks like you just got it done, by the glue in the headlights . Very cool, and I'll be looking for it at NNL East!
  19. Tommy, I was wondering why I missed this at the Philly Sit, then remembered you were sick that day. Fantastic build. These weathering jobs always fascinate me, and sometime I'll have to try one. I'm still working on perfecting the shiny shelf model.
  20. Great build of a beautiful racer. My favorite years for Indy cars would be the late '60s to mid '70s. Very nice detailing and a clean build!
  21. A beautifully done, meticulously detailed build, no matter what the color or shade is! If you look closely, you can see it has Jeff Sauber written all over it
  22. Excellent as usual! My favorite dirt track racers.
  23. Keith, that thing really is rusty.... and cool! Someday I'll have to try that, when I get tired of the shiny ones. The chicken wire grille made me laugh out loud!!
  24. Very cool, beautiful build there! I love a Ferrari in any color.
  25. You gotta love a Corvette racer in any year! Ditto on the clean build.
