  1. I often say "The only gripe I have about (insert resin caster in question's name/business here) is that I can't afford to buy ten of everything they cast." Kenny's one of those casters for me.
  2. Just like the 1:1- the '56 was a huge improvement over the '55 simply because the taillights were integrated into the design a bit better. I'll definitely be buying a couple of these. Fantastic job on this one, Art!
  3. Didn't it go into a little orange tracknose T roadster featured in the mag a couple of years back? Anyway, thanks for the write-up on this. Looks like a pretty slick little piece. One more for the wish list!
  4. Let's not forget the Renwal Revival series, such as the '66 Packard Twin Six
  5. Each one a beauty to my eyes. For some reason the word 'marooned' comes to mind when I look at them.
  6. Never once has this project and story failed to elicit a laugh from me. It made me laugh when I first read the thread, and it still does now. The fact that a pretty sweet model is going to be the end result is just the icing.
  7. First and last item I bought on eBay was a passenger's side grille insert for a '71 Dodge Charger. That was in 2006. I sold a few items on eBay as well, but I haven't even logged in in about five or six years.
  8. You call it ugly- I call it a beauty. Nothing finer than a well-worn workhorse if you ask me.
  9. I saw a pool of oil under the car, and I thought I had a really bad rear main leak. So I peeked underneath to check and there's this big metal rod going through the oil pan and engine block...
  10. Actually it was Lincoln, but Edison's paraphrase of the original quote is the one most often cited.
  11. Nice progress! As far as the oil pump goes- you should be able to just plumb the remote filters into the engine. The internal pump should produce enough flow to keep the oil moving, unless you're mounting the filters in the trunk or some crazy place like that.
  12. Well, I just pulled one out of a three-year intimate session with the ol' mothballs- http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=36281#entry1008930 Remind me politely and I'll come up with some content for that I'll post here instead of its separate build thread.
  13. I'll be yellow as a morning tinkle. (Why do I belt out such disturbing little axioms with such frequently?) But, as with the roadster, Bubble Butt has stalled. Really need to get it together....
  14. Thanks! And that's right- this body set me back a mere fifteen bucks, IIRC.
  15. So glad the '56 is being kitted- the taillight design alone makes it a much better looking car than the '55 to me. Fantastic looking interior, Art!
  16. The beginnings of the new cab and frame-
  17. Just found this homebuilt tractor at the salvage yard- might be a model idea in there.
  18. Well? After a three- year hiatus, this project is facing a complete reboot. Now I'm thinking something more along these lines-
  19. I have to admit that I actually like the Batman and Robin Batmobile more than this one, but yeah... hey, they all paled in comparison to the '66 anyway! And Batman Forever was just awful... All that being said, you certainly did this kit justice. The clean build is one thing- the lights and display base really set it all off. Very well done sir!
  20. Love how this looks so far! Yeah- Round 2 chrome can be a real pain to strip compared to other kitmaker's chrome plating and undercoat.
  21. Built from the AMT Phantom, and painted in colors similar to a Matchbox Baja van I had as a kid. The wheels and tires came from a '66 Riv, and the side mirrors are from a Courier. Other than that it's box stock.
  22. I've seen them side by side, and they're nearly indistinguishable size-wise. Even though the Esci is a curbside, I seem to remember it having a bit better chassis detail than the Monogram Jeep.
