  1. Thinking of trying this out with a Ranger Splash I'd originally planned to build as a pro streeter!
  2. Body on the AMC is looking fantastic, but I keep finding myself intrigued by that Willys with the roof chopped off, too...
  3. Thing is, today it seems the alternative to bland and anonymous is heart-stoppingly ugly. Seems to me at least, most all vehicles produced today fall into either of those categories!
  4. I'd love to see the Aftashox rat rod! And I think so would everyone else with a pulse. Well, she's gonna be a fifth wheel, which I think means this is only the beginning. I'm thinking chopped down gooseneck lowboy and some kind of nutty ratty creation for the load on the trailer! The basic truck is progressing pretty nicely...
  5. The GT-R may be ugly... but it sure as heck ain't girly!
  6. You DID pay Gene Simmons for this already, right?
  7. X2! Looks like the tricks for fixing the stance on the earlier kits should carry over to this one.
  8. Wow... a nuke powered car. Imagine a fleet of THESE things in the hands of todays inept, cell-phone babbling drivers!
  9. Can't be defined... you just know it when you see it. Girly... NOT girly...
  10. All of the new parts are die-cut plastic- the bumper and brackets, and the flasher base. The amber sprue is from the existing AMT semi tractor kits, and the decal sheet is all new. Other than that, it's the same as the previous versions of the stock kit, only molded in white.
  11. No, that's five kits, four of which will get built, and the one that donates its engine might end up as some kind of turbine powered apoacaliptic ride.
  12. Some of you will recognize this- It was 'in the shop' to repair some damage last weekend, and earlier this week, I decided to make a few changes. Add whitewalls, an axle strap for the back, and maybe lose that boooooring round air cleaner. So here's what I did= I painted the whitewalls onto the existing rear tires, and was careful not to make them look TOO nice, going over them with fine grit paper later to expose the letters. The front tires are the rears from a Revell Rat Rods series kit, with a '49 Ford cap on one side and a '48 on the other. I added a Mr.Gasket scoop, and an old trophy topper to the engine to act as the oil filler cap. Out back, I used a hitch from a Revell Midget kit to mount the scratchbuilt axle wrap. It has tire tread to serve as the straps, and tie the look into the tire tread-clad front bumper. An that's about it, Vern. Anyone caring to find out a little bit more can check out the entire WIP here- http://public.fotki.com/ChuckMost/rat-alley/91-ford-f-350-rig-rod/
  13. Just fleshing out the details on the basic 'cab and chassis' for the moment...
  14. Sorry... just not seeing anything at all 'agressive' about the new design. I mean, look at hose LED 'halos' around the headlamps, and that smiley face bumper. I think it's even girlier looking than the current New Beetle, which was a girly car to begin with! And from the side, it looks like a tall, stubby Porsche 911. I thought they were going to quit making these, anyway.
  15. Love seeing progress on this one! I think my Datsun version will be more of a 'rat like' creature.
  16. I have a bad radius arm bushing. But what did I get today? The Revell '10 Mustang and some Tamiya paints.
  17. First, I have to finish a few stock bodies I've converted to altered wheelbase funny cars!
  18. Yep- compared against an '08 Bullitt in my stash. Different, still tall and blocky. Thankfully though, I have no plans to use the kit supplied rolling stock on this puppy!
  19. Just got mine today, and I'm very happy with it. It still has the blocky truck tires from the '06 kit and its spinoffs, and judging from the box art model still suffers from a somewhat airy ride height. Nothing impossible to work around. Also appears Revell is using that same plastic Round 2 is using... the glossy stuff with the pungent odor!
  20. Kinda leaning toward the 'chopped camper' idea now. If I screw up, I can always revert to the fifth wheel version. Heck, now that I think of it, I've got another one of these kits laying around someplace.
  21. Yeah, Tony- I ended up liking that '53 too, even though I had NO IDEA what it was going to end up looking like when done! (BTW... I've updated it recently, keep your eyes peeled for pics in the next few days.) Never thought of a chopped trailer, Johnny... what about a chopped teardrop camper? OR... A cut down open road camper for the body????
  22. Never noticed the misshapen wheel openings. Haven't built one of these in a while, mostly because the last one I bought (during the RC2 years) came with the WRONG BODY. (GTX, not the 'Runner body.)
  23. I have the larger Boneshaker (1:43?), and its one of my favorites in my diecast collection. Love this one! Redoing Hot Wheels cars is the one thing I haven't tried yet!
  24. Not sure- that truck sat out in front of a locksmith shop on M-57 for YEARS. Wondered where it went, then stumbled across it that day at the yard.
