  1. I have two '62 annuals by AMT- Ford Fairlane and Lincoln Continental. Neither car is represented on the box art except for a small black and white image in the upper right corner of the top and sides. Seems like '62 or 3 was the end for AMT's generic box practice. At least the kits looked like their subjects!
  2. Ah, the hobby's death is impending... But hey, at least I can hold out hope for a kit of the Pontiac/Mercedes/Kia thing from the Turtle Wax label!
  3. Well... truck is finished... And started work on the trailer. It's basically a glue bomb AMT tandem car hauler- I made up some new sides for it, added some wheels from the Revell '37 Ford pickup 2 in 1 kit, and scratchbuilt a gooseneck to fit the Chevy. Still not done, but basically there. I'll be tackling the rest of the trailer next, and of course there's the question of what I'm going to put on the trailer...
  4. Wasn't the campyness that turned me off to the show. I was more of a Star Trek kid. Hey, if anybody could give Adam West a true run for the money as far as overacting, it was good ol' Shatner! No, know what really scared me off? The 'hot pants' Robin wore. That STILL creeps me out!
  5. Last I knew he was doing his best to get banned.
  6. I'll second that! The Lonestar is THE new benchmark in terms of semi-tractor kits, as far as I'm concerned. Cannot WAIT to get my hands on a couple of these Hudsons!
  7. Fantasic. How long before, instead of '10 Mustangs, we are treated to totally generic kits, such as " '10 Standard American Front Drive Compact Sedan"?
  8. Nope, that air cleaner's actually from an early '70's Datsun Z-car. So... it's a Mitsubishi mill, via Mopar, and adorned with a Datsun piece.
  9. No idea what those came from- just dug them out of my spares box. But yeah, I picked them specifically because I thought the tread looked cool.
  10. Hmmm.... now I'm kicking around the idea of making that trailer a chopped camper! Guess I could always do both. Already have a plan in mind for the lowboy, so we'll go that route first.
  11. A New Camaro I actually like. Sweet indeed.
  12. This is something I threw together over the course of a few days, just to try and help me get back into the rat rod groove. Basically, it's a cut down '40 Willys cab on a cut down '34 Ford frame, powered by a Mitsubishi four banger from a Dodge Ram 50. The rest is via the spares box or scratchbuilt. Just a basic hot rod that's good on gas and fits easily into any Compact parking space, and inspired by the song "One Headlight" by The Wallflowers.
  13. Didn't you get my PM in the Cave?
  14. Thinking of trying this out with a Ranger Splash I'd originally planned to build as a pro streeter!
  15. Body on the AMC is looking fantastic, but I keep finding myself intrigued by that Willys with the roof chopped off, too...
  16. Thing is, today it seems the alternative to bland and anonymous is heart-stoppingly ugly. Seems to me at least, most all vehicles produced today fall into either of those categories!
  17. I'd love to see the Aftashox rat rod! And I think so would everyone else with a pulse. Well, she's gonna be a fifth wheel, which I think means this is only the beginning. I'm thinking chopped down gooseneck lowboy and some kind of nutty ratty creation for the load on the trailer! The basic truck is progressing pretty nicely...
  18. The GT-R may be ugly... but it sure as heck ain't girly!
  19. You DID pay Gene Simmons for this already, right?
  20. X2! Looks like the tricks for fixing the stance on the earlier kits should carry over to this one.
  21. Wow... a nuke powered car. Imagine a fleet of THESE things in the hands of todays inept, cell-phone babbling drivers!
  22. Can't be defined... you just know it when you see it. Girly... NOT girly...
  23. All of the new parts are die-cut plastic- the bumper and brackets, and the flasher base. The amber sprue is from the existing AMT semi tractor kits, and the decal sheet is all new. Other than that, it's the same as the previous versions of the stock kit, only molded in white.
  24. No, that's five kits, four of which will get built, and the one that donates its engine might end up as some kind of turbine powered apoacaliptic ride.
