'49's were available with the quarter windows, too, so they'd still be correct for a '49. But to answer your question, you'd just need to fill in the quarter windows with styrene. Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland makes a regular cab without the quarter windows, but IIRC, it's chopped.

Most of the Testors enamels will strip quite quickly, especially if the Purple Stuff is warm. I've had some in the tub for five or ten minutes, and when I took them out, the paint was already dripping off.

Mostly reissues, but they have some new stuff coming down the pike. For instance,not one, but TWO Batmobile kits, in snap and full detail form. They've also recently brought out kits of the new Challenger and Corvette, but if I'm not mistaken, those were done under the old RC2 regime. (Could be wrong on that note, though.)
