  1. No... GM junk doesn't last long enough to have THAT many problems! (And nowhere were worn out radius arm bushings and abnormal front tire wear mentioned, so... )
  2. Reeeley???? So the 300C, Escalade EXT,Concept Camaro and Fast/Furious Import kits must have been RC2's last hurrah.
  3. Interesting indeed! And seriously glad you posted the link- quite a bit more information beyond the 'got scrubbed for Lincoln' part.
  4. Yep, like I said in my last post!
  5. Yep, Danno's reaction is just the kind I was hoping for! (Not sure if he's reacting to yours or mine, or both, though!) Really liked the one you built, Joe- who says you can't do something nuts with a snap together cop car kit?
  6. There used to be a '97-'04 Buick Century in my area that an employee at an animal hospital used as a beater. Flat black paint, red wheels with full Moon discs and wide whites, and Thrush decals on each fender. I thought it would be cool to model it, but for some ODD REASON, there's no kit of a late-model Century. So I used another GM FWD snoozebox... the Impala, this being the Revell police car kit. I used the wide whitewall tire decals from a Revell '37 Ford pickup kit on the Impala kit's no name tires, and the discs are from a Jo Han '59 Rambler kit. I'm not sure if the 'buckskin' interior color is correct for any '00 - '05 Impala, and I'm not too concerned, as it looks okay to me! Of course, the body is all flat black. I found out later the red taillamp piece is actually clear with red paint- stripping it and repainting it accordingly would yeild an accurate taillamp treatment, but I liked the 'all black' look better. I also used a spare aluminum exhaust tip, and hosed the exterior off in Krylon Chalkboard paint, including the inside of the window unit to 'tint' it! This one will be a nice contrast to the 'tuner' version I'm working on. I think!
  7. Thought so. Not even 30 yet and having my senior moments!
  8. So, with 65 parts, I take it this isn't the 1990's era Pro Modeler version...? Or was that kit a Dodge Daytona?
  9. The Lincoln kit has a pretty good rendering of a '62 Merc stock car on one side, but yeah... most of them were kind of mis-match of various cars, like you see in Armor All ads and such. I have thought of building such a model, though!
  10. '05 Impala tuner, anyone?
  11. This just sort of happened one day... It's a mostly box stock ( )Revell kit, and about all I did with it was weather it. I gave it a mis-matched driver's side door and fender (with primer spots on the fender to show where the replacement panel was reworked to match the other side). I added some aluminum carb stacks, and replaced the steering wheel with a '60 Ford piece, only because the kit wheel was damaged by the mold. Not a bad way to spend a couple evenings off work, huh? A bit suprised this is only the second Revell Merc I've built. The next one will be a bit more extreme, I promise!
  12. Might be stealing a few traits off this one for my Matador "Extreme Pro Tourer".
  13. I have two '62 annuals by AMT- Ford Fairlane and Lincoln Continental. Neither car is represented on the box art except for a small black and white image in the upper right corner of the top and sides. Seems like '62 or 3 was the end for AMT's generic box practice. At least the kits looked like their subjects!
  14. Ah, the hobby's death is impending... But hey, at least I can hold out hope for a kit of the Pontiac/Mercedes/Kia thing from the Turtle Wax label!
  15. Well... truck is finished... And started work on the trailer. It's basically a glue bomb AMT tandem car hauler- I made up some new sides for it, added some wheels from the Revell '37 Ford pickup 2 in 1 kit, and scratchbuilt a gooseneck to fit the Chevy. Still not done, but basically there. I'll be tackling the rest of the trailer next, and of course there's the question of what I'm going to put on the trailer...
  16. Wasn't the campyness that turned me off to the show. I was more of a Star Trek kid. Hey, if anybody could give Adam West a true run for the money as far as overacting, it was good ol' Shatner! No, know what really scared me off? The 'hot pants' Robin wore. That STILL creeps me out!
  17. Last I knew he was doing his best to get banned.
  18. I'll second that! The Lonestar is THE new benchmark in terms of semi-tractor kits, as far as I'm concerned. Cannot WAIT to get my hands on a couple of these Hudsons!
  19. Fantasic. How long before, instead of '10 Mustangs, we are treated to totally generic kits, such as " '10 Standard American Front Drive Compact Sedan"?
  20. Nope, that air cleaner's actually from an early '70's Datsun Z-car. So... it's a Mitsubishi mill, via Mopar, and adorned with a Datsun piece.
  21. No idea what those came from- just dug them out of my spares box. But yeah, I picked them specifically because I thought the tread looked cool.
  22. Hmmm.... now I'm kicking around the idea of making that trailer a chopped camper! Guess I could always do both. Already have a plan in mind for the lowboy, so we'll go that route first.
  23. A New Camaro I actually like. Sweet indeed.
  24. This is something I threw together over the course of a few days, just to try and help me get back into the rat rod groove. Basically, it's a cut down '40 Willys cab on a cut down '34 Ford frame, powered by a Mitsubishi four banger from a Dodge Ram 50. The rest is via the spares box or scratchbuilt. Just a basic hot rod that's good on gas and fits easily into any Compact parking space, and inspired by the song "One Headlight" by The Wallflowers.
  25. Didn't you get my PM in the Cave?
